- Today we are heading out in Peggy my pink campervan for the first time this year! And we are headed to the Lake District in England!
🎀 We are going to have a beautiful time exploring one of Englands Largest lakes; Lake Windermere
🐰 And of course because we are in the home of beatrix potter I take you guys to the world of beatrix potter attraction for a fun peter rabbit family friendly adventure
✨ We also manage to see one of the most beautiful northern light displays we have ever seen during a solar storm
So lets settle down together, get cozy and go on a van life trip together shall we?!

By far your best travel vloggs are when you take Peggy out. Disney is ok but no where near as good as your camper videos. Thoroughly enjoyed watching and will probably rewatch. I remember when you took your mum out in the van. I went to rewatch but it’s gone. Look forward to more, great job!!!! ☕️❤️

Way back in 1993 my sister studied abroad. I went to visit and we wanted to go to Hill Top. We took a 2 min ferry (?) crossing and then since we didn’t have a car we had to walk. By the time we got there we only had 20 minutes so we could make the last ferry back. It was a gorgeous day with lambs all over the place. There was no commercialism at all in the area. It happened to be the 100th anniversary of the first book being published so I did get a commemorative Peter Rabbit book and figurine!

So much fun! In 1989 hubby and I visited that same area of the Lake District. No tourist attractions at that time, but we did visit Hilltop by taking a local cab out to see it. I love Beatrix Potter and her beginnings as a botanical illustrator who was turned down by the ‘all men club’ of the science community at Kew Gardens and then going on into children’s book illustration…..she is inspiring and she was so talented and observant. Love!!

When I was a little kid, I had a Peter Rabbit animated cartoon on tape that I would watch all of the time even though it scared me (Mr. McGregor scared the hell out of me and that scene where his sweater gets caught while trying to escape😭) but I would absolutely love to see this exhibit in person!

I went to Windermere on my honeymoon and loved it there! Also while I was watching this I was eating dippy eggs in plant pot egg cups too! 😂 The northern lights were so beautiful, first time I’d seen them here in Cornwall 😊 Kate x

I had the entire collection of Beatrix Potter books as a kid. I was obsessed with them. Now I wish my mom never gave them away.

omg i love the northern lights... we were able to see them from our front door here in Ohio in the states it was soooo breathtaking i couldnt believe it... between those and the solar eclipse this year both experiences just made me so happy to be alive and both made me cry unexpectingly.

I love the Lake District, I spent my honeymoon in Ullswater Glenridding...absolutely beautiful place...and love the Beatrix potter experience, one of the reasons we chose that area 🤭

Oh I remember the lights from the other month, we saw them from the balcony of our house in the middle of Dundee. That looks absolutely amazing though.
Tell you what though my parents always said Ullswater was one of the better lakes to visit, it's also less touristy and has the Ullswater steam boats!
I love Ullswater ❤ we have been a few times and even boated on the lake but I love Windermere the best! Because I love the town hehehe kendal is nice too! ❤

I love the lake district so much, my partner is from Liverpool (I'm from the Cotswolds) and he introduced me to the lakes and it's just such a magical place that doesn't feel like anywhere else. We have a cottage booked up there next month and it'll be the first time we've been up there since I was 10 weeks pregnant and our daughter is now 5 so we're really excited and can't wait to get back and show it to her. loved this vlog x

I live in Iowa and we were able to see the Northern Lights here around the middle of May. The storm was so large thay could be seen as far south as Florida. I'm not sure that has ever happened before but it was so beautiful. Never thought I would see them in Iowa of all places. They were a bit green but mostly purple like the ones in your video. PS I love you and both your channels! You are such a lovely human being!

Beatrix Potter is at the core of my artwork. I didn’t read her books as a child (I know like wth is that about, and I’m in my 50s) and discovered her as an adult. Fell head over heels, it was like discovering a kindred spirit and someone who saw the world the same way I do. So seeing you visiting Hilltop kinda made me a little emotional I’m embarrassed to say!! I haven’t been yet, but am so happy you’ve gone and taken us along. Thank you so so much ❤😊. So of course I’ve seen the BP movie a million times ☺️
🥹🥹🥹 right?! She is so inspiring! Not only was she a pioneer in illustration she also was a award winning sheep farmer andddd pretty much saved the lands in the Lake District from building work by buying it all and leaving it to the national trust! She was very multi-faceted love her 😮❤

My daughter and I watching from Australia (she’s actually three days away from giving birth🤗) we are Brits and when we visit back it’s been our intention to visit these places , now we have seen it’s a definite as I don’t think it will disappoint. Loved watching the Peter rabbit series years back in the UK, with the rain falling down on Beatrix’s art work in the beginning and the lovely music. Can’t wait for part 2 xxx

It’s a blend of my editing (sometimes I even use a physical mist filter) I colour grade and make my own luts too! But then also a nice lens and a bloom effect ❤❤❤❤

Lovely vlog. So glad you went on a trip on the boat. Still love all the Beatrix Potted books, and in my late 60s I still have them all. I had to laugh when you parked up and you showed the back of the van. There was a male and female duck sitting on the grass. In 1989 when our daughter was almost 2 we had a vacation in a hotel right beside one of the lakes. Our room door opened right onto the grass beside the lake and we had 2 ducks take up residency right outside our room. Our daughter kept toddling after them so of course we had to name them - Dick and Daphne Duck. To this day whenever we see mallard ducks they are called Dick and Daphne. Love the film with Renee Zellweger.

Bassenthwaite is the only lake in cumbria
I had to check and there's quite a few since spending so much time in Cumbria Whitehaven and Braisingstow as a child on the Camping sites which didn't impress my mum as she saw all the luxury caravans only to see the smallest caravan my stepdad had hired 😄My Stepdad worked up there quite alot which was a yippee for me because it meant holiday time. But Bassenthwaite is one of them as there are 16 lakes spread out across the lake district. Are you from Cumbria? 😊I remember nearly getting stranded and missing the only bus back to the mainland because my mum didn't realise there was only one that they had a peak time. It was a close call it was. So many memories.
I read that the Lake District the lakes are actually just massive bodies of water are they called meres or something? and there’s only one actual lake but they are practically all the same thing in my eyes 😂❤ 😅
@catherinekayy Each lake has a story behind it which I ❤️ I thought that too but the Cumbria Tourism board or going into Whitehaven itself has the history of the lakes is where I remember getting the information from. I love being surrounded by water. I was so chuffed about it as I had to do a presentation on anything we did during summer. The only thing I think I remember being excited about 😄 school.

Such a beautiful looking attraction, but I must say I find it both ironic and distasteful that while Beatrix wrote some lovely books about pigs, that place serves pieces of dead pig in their sandwiches. 😞
