@lorijohnston4311, I realize this is 2 years in the past I got to see Motely Crue in person at concerts 2 times one was in Oakland, CA. second time CalExp. state fair Sacramento, CA. both was during summer months in the 1980's time-line That the only time I seen them in person I am unsure what year in 1980's it was that timeline flew by so fast for me I am now 67 years of age. This song always got a bad rep for being satanic or something. But really it’s an anti-establishment, anti-corporate. Basically hair metal’s version of punk. 😀 Vince Neil’s vocals are fire!
I was in middle school when this album came out and my mom was a little skeptical about it after seeing the title and album cover. But she loved the music and basically told me "Its not like they are saying Shout FOR The Devil" ....this coming from the same lady that loved Ozzy, G&R, Whitesnake...etc 😁😁😁
To be fair, this was the same time that metal bands were REALLY embracing pentagrams and whatnot as part of their style so you can understand why people made assumptions. Of course, many of us understood that it was all stylistic touches to push buttons and create a "metal" image. An equivalent situation in the hip-hop world was when rappers started flashing the "illuminati" hand signs and such. It's all theater.
If anything, I always thought it had to be anti-Satanic, because they are "shouting" at the devil...And I don't think the devil would particularly care for people "shouting" at him..."Hey, devil! Hey, devil! You think you're bad?"

The whole incident was forgotten until Nikki was putting the band together, and Mick's ad in the Recycler ad magazine reading, "Loud, rude, aggressive guitar player" caught Nikki's attention. When Mick walked in, Nikki was like, "Aren't you that guy from the record shop ... you're that guy.... I hated you!" From the moment Mick joined Motley, Nikki and Mick were brothers... Vince blew off the first audition and didn't even show up because he already had a sure thing with Rockandi and didn't know about this other band. @robertmooney, I only got to see Motley Crue 2 times in the 1980's I had full time job, so I drove to Cow Palace in Oakland California seen them and seen them at Cal-Expo Sacramento, CA. but having full-time job hindered me from going to many rock and roll concerts in 1980's. I only drive 100 miles to see concerts because I would work 6 days a week. I think for me Shout at the Devil my very favorite song then Too Young Too Fall in Love. I turned 66 years of age in 2023 year. this year I'll be 67 years of age. I also got to see Iron Maiden in concert, W.A.S.P. Band in concert, and Twisted Sisters band in concert. cool comments wow 5 times that great. happy delay 2024 new year!
I have seen them live 6 times. still got my stadium tour tickets. they are awesome in concert. tommy lee on the drums spinning in the air above our heads.. and Mick mars awesome guitarist.. and Nikki Sixx , Vince Neil.
As a child of the 80s (hearing Crue for the first time in 1982 or so) this album got played more than any other in my bedroom. I think "10 Seconds To Love" was my favorite song from this album. Give a listen to "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)" Love you guys!
This album and "Out Of The Cellar" by RATT were the 1st albums I bought with my own money. I was in 8th grade. I got a detention on more than one occasion reciting the spoken intro to this song that I had memorized while walking into class. And just because the Bungles swept the Steelers this year, you're still a long way away from 6 titles. 😁
This song has always been my favorite Motley Crue song. The pick slides in the beginning sound like Freddy Krueger sharpening his knives. The guitar riff throughout the whole song is dark and heavy and the singing fits it perfect.
First song first album first song on the album now that's an introduction to Motley Crue sent chills up my spine the first time I heard it and the rest is history. :-) :-)
This was a song that basically everyone loved in the 80s. You didn't even need to know who Motley Crue were, let alone be a "Metalhead" to stand in the living room at a packed house party and bang your head with the devil sign raised high. If you haven't already check out "Fire Woman" by The Cult which was another house party banger.
Vince Neil lead singer Mick Mars Lead guitar Nikki Sixx Bass guitar Tommy Lee Drums Do Merry go round Live wire Too fast for love Its off their 1st album thats when they were best. (Also next album shout at the devil)
1983 was the year metal started to reach the top of the charts. Before that, it had cult fans, but got zero radio airplay or MTV play. Quiet Riot and Def Leppard being so huge was bringing metal into the spotlight. By 1986, metal was so big, record companies were stepping in and making their bands decide if they were going to be real metal ( slayer, metallica etc), or if they were Cinderella /Poison type hair band. They figured they could make more money marketing to a particular audience - hair metal was more a female audience. Unfortunately, these decisions kinda killed some bands careers. Judas Priest went hair metal for an album, but then redeemed themselves big-time with Painkiller ( def real metal). Some bands like Iron Maiden, completely ignored their record companies and still to this day, do what they do
Cinderella & Poison & Ratt & Winger & W.A.S.P. were "Glam Metal." Boy bands with harder riffs & spandex - manufactured by record execs. Priest, Maiden, & Dio never wavered from what they were about. I mean, even 'Turbo" wasn't COMPLETE trash. Although we did joke about being able to do aerobics to "Turbo Lover." 🤡 Hell - even Alice Cooper tried to get in on the scene with "Poison" & "Feed My Frankenstein." And Ozzy - look at his HAIR during "Shot In The Dark" & "Bark at the Moon." Hehehe. 🤘☠️🤘
My friends and I used to blast this song leaving the H.S. parking lot after school. LOL Respect to the Crue! They always brought it. 80's ruled with the hair bands for sure! In August, H.S. girl posse gettin'it together for Def Leppard, Motley, and Joan Jett in concert. Can't wait!!!! Love the reaction, givin' a BIG smile out to you two!
So glad to see Amber getting in touch with her inner Hard Rock / Metal spirit. I saw the stink-face the other day on the Deep Purple video, and I knew it was happening. Welcome Sis Cheers!
He may have had an incredible voice~~I've seen them several times in the last few years prior to covid and he sounds awful now. The rest of the band is on point.
@@MsSixx1 I know, he really hasn't taken care of himself and has lost a lot of his vocals, it's really too bad. I think he's been through so much, losing a child etc, he's not in the best place.
Kicked the doors open to "Hair Metal", "Metal", "Heavy Metal", whatever, you choose to call it, this Band set the bar so high, not very many bands, ever touched it!!! 🤘😝🤟
I think you will like the band Oingo Boingo and their song Dead Man's party. This song was in the movie Back to School with the band singing it at a party.
This band along with Ozzie caused such an uproar in the church community when I was growing up in the 80's. They were THE band for a minute. MTV loved them!
Miljenko Matijevic from "Steelheart" has a vocal range of the charts, Start with his older stuff "She's Gone", to his newer stuff "My love is Gone" you won't be disappointed. Love you & your family so much.
Looks That Kill, Helter skelter, 10 Seconds To Love are other great songs from this album. Probably my first Crue album... I was hooked after that. Home Sweet Home is my favorite Cruel song.
I remember seeing that tour with Accept opening, standing first row and loving every minute of it. Now I want to see them react to a Motley "ballad" for Amber. Not Home Sweet Home (too obvious), but more like Too Young to Fall in Love, Merry Go Round, You're All I Need, The Animal in Me...
I've been listening to this song for 35 (or whatever) years now (I'm old) and never knew the lyrics beyond the chorus. So thank you. Also, Amber's t-shirt is the bomb.
Saw them in 83, 85, and 87. They were so good live. Front row in 85 on the Theatre of Pain tour. Still have Tommy’s drumstick and Mick’s guitar pick. 🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥
Hehehe ... 😄... I just checked... I see your Bengals won today Jordan & Amber!!! Love it!!! Congrats Jay! I bet things got crazy at your house tonight!!! Side note... great hype song for the day for winning game vibes!!! lol 🥳😈😈😈😈🤣🤣🤣
Imagine being a teenager of 13 in 1983, and hearing this furious music, I've been a Cruehead since, and every day their music fills my days, I also had the opportunity to see them live 13 times, in 4 Canadian cities, these 4 guys have always been there for me in good and bad days!!!
They are the start of what they called big hair bands in the 80's . Glam bands of early years turned into hair bands in the 80's . They are still rocking and on tour this year with Def Leopard and Poison.I still have my Crue t- shirt 1983
Please react to Billy Squier. Songs: The Stoke, The Big Beat (heavily sampled in rap, Rob might recognize the sample.) My Kinda Lover, Rock Me Tonight, Everybody Wants You, Lonely Is The Night......He was big in the 80s. I promise you will like him. :-)
One of the biggest and ever acts of the 80s rock Era. Huge catalog of great songs. Wild Side ( Must watch official video), Live Wire, Looks That Kill, Too Young Too Fall in Love, Dr. Feelgood, Same Old Situation, You're All I Need, Without You, Don't Go Away Mad, Helter Skelter are all can't miss.
Saw Motley Crue at the 1984 Monsters of Rock concert in Karlsruhe, West Germany. As I walked in, they were playing, "Shout at the Devil". The concert featured many great rock groups of the day. It was an awesome experience in a big stadium.
If you want a fun concert experience, whenever they're allowed to do it, but when they come to your area see Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue, and Def Leppard. You'll never forget it
Loved this reaction! I was 13 years old when I first heard this song and I was hooked instantly. The guitar, drums and voice was hard hitting, gritty and like nothing I had ever heard, that along with their look. Been a fan ever since, seen them 4 times, 2 times in the 80s, once in the 90s and once in the 2000.
"In The Beginning" is a spoken word prelude to this song on the album. It really does set the mood. I suggest going back and listening to them both, back-to-back.
I knew Jordan would love this song, but I'm surprised how much Amber liked it! "Shout at the Devil" is my favorite album by Motley Crue. There's not a bad song on the album.
Whole album is their best stuff! Fire! They didnt have noise cancelling back then... so my parents prolly unwillingly memorized this whole album! Had original vinyl till I wore it out!
Please check out their song "Don't Go Away Mad(just go away) or Looks That Kill". I'm a long standing member of Motley "F**kin Crue" fans. Anything is fine, but those are favs.
I'm an old school Tampa Bay fan My way of life I've been a Tampa Bay fan since 1978 Thru the Good,The Bad & The Orange &White And God bless Lee Roy Selman #63 And Mr. Selman was our first Hall of Famer
OMG, what an awesome review day!!! My favorite so far! (I wish you had not used a lyric video tho.) I love that Amber is loving the rock! This was one of my very favorite songs when I was a teen. I just wish my darn phone had notified me - I'm an hour late! Darnit! Lol.
Yes, a nice heaping helping of hair bands today! You are making my Saturday! Can't wait to see #3. Hoping you get to White Lion or Ratt, or even Twisted Sister.
Quite nice to see someone react to early Crue. This was their second album and it's one of my favorite metal records of all time. After this one, they seemed to go soft metal, or pop metal. Imho, another you should hit from this is "Looks that Kill". I think that one will make you giggle and smile a bit as well.
It was this song and this album that got me into metal. I heard SHOUT in the locker room in high school and that was it. 1981....i was still into disco. Not after THE CRUE.
The first two crue albums "Too Fast For love' and this one are everything...when this album came out, my little world in my small eastern washington cow-town changed.
My mom thought this song was devil-worship!😄 i use to rock this song as loud as my speakers would go! Had the shag haircut, headband, holy jeans, heavy makeup, and all!🤘❤
Caught the Crue in 1984; they were opening for Ozzy.. killer show.. my seat was near the corner of the stage where the band left into the backstage area.. The silver "Shout at the Devil" T shirts were everywhere.. my girl was freaking out over Nikki Sixx, so she was screaming at him and she flashed him.. next thing I know.. Nikki calls her over and gave her his Gold Version of the Concert Tshirt that he had been wearing on stage.. Was a great night for me afterwards :P
Seeing them play this live is amazing!!! Also, the videos that went along with the songs from this album have such a cool look. The imagery was so badass. They were still in their "scary makeup" phase at this time, they were all so young, and it was just what was happening at the time. Their performance of this song at the US Festival is early and just so awesome. LONG LIVE THE CRUE \m/
Next from Crue.....'Too Young To Fall In Love, Too Fast For Love, She's Got The Looks That Kill, Same Ol' Situation, Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away), Primal Scream, Home Sweet Home, Live Wire, Without You, You're All I Need and Stary Eyes!!'
This whole album was a game-changer hard rock with with a whole lot of attitude. Saw them live absolutely blew my mind.:-) :-)
Amber slowly getting into metal puts a smile on this old metalhead's face.😀🤘
Amen
Same.

This is the very first Motley Crue song I ever heard back in the 80s. Still a great song!
Motley Crue is my all time favorite bands! Check out their later songs “Same ‘ol Situation” and “Primal Scream”.

80s metal and glam rock will always be my number 1..... always...nothing makes me feel more excited....
Vince Neil lead singer
Mick Mars Lead guitar
Nikki Sixx Bass guitar
Tommy Lee Drums
Do Merry go round
Live wire
Too fast for love
Its off their 1st album thats when they were best. (Also next album shout at the devil)
Seen Crue twice live, Their shows were off the charts wild!
Only band I never got to see. I could just cry. 😫
Nothing is cooler than being in a tribute band, like I was, and playing this in front of a crowd. Amazing rush!
Some bands like Iron Maiden, completely ignored their record companies and still to this day, do what they do
EGG-ZACTLY!
Cinderella & Poison & Ratt & Winger & W.A.S.P. were "Glam Metal."
Boy bands with harder riffs & spandex - manufactured by record execs.
Priest, Maiden, & Dio never wavered from what they were about. I mean, even 'Turbo" wasn't COMPLETE trash. Although we did joke about being able to do aerobics to "Turbo Lover." 🤡
Hell - even Alice Cooper tried to get in on the scene with "Poison" & "Feed My Frankenstein." And Ozzy - look at his HAIR during "Shot In The Dark" & "Bark at the Moon." Hehehe.
One of the best rock and roll bands ever... especially live
Check out "Looks That Kill" also. If you have already done "Wilde Side". And "Girls Girls Girls". The videos of course.
They did Girls..., but have not done Wild Side or Looks That Kill yet.
Looks that Kill is a good one.
Looks That Kill is a great Crue song.
OMG.... The "In the beginning" intro sets the whole mood for this song and YOU MISSED IT!!!!!!!
Right!?! 🤦♀️
Vince Neil has an incredible voice and this song rocks!! Motley Crue has so many good songs, and there's always a bit of funk in them.
Had an incredible voice.
@@markthegunplumber8376 Yes, sadly.
@@jenniferfoster1692 Vince was never very good live during ANY era,..It's a shame because he sounds great on the records : (
I had this vinyl as a youngster. This is the Crue I know and love. Finally !!!
Motley Crue was my favorite hard rock metal band of the 80’s. Thank you for reacting to them.
Crue was my first concert - 1987 Theatre of Pain tour! It was unbelievable to see this song performed live!
LOL the song which bogarted MTV's call-in countdown for what seemed like forever.
I was thinking On With The Show.
How about their song “Without You”?
I've been listening to this song for 35 (or whatever) years now (I'm old) and never knew the lyrics beyond the chorus. So thank you. Also, Amber's t-shirt is the bomb.
A super fun song at their concerts. I’ve seen them 10 times, always a blast!
Collective Soul...Shine! Something for both of you. Enjoy
Saw them in 83, 85, and 87. They were so good live. Front row in 85 on the Theatre of Pain tour. Still have Tommy’s drumstick and Mick’s guitar pick.
🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥
This is my favorite album by Motley Crue....still have it in my truck 🤟
That whole album was heavy. Best Motley album, IMO
Dr. FEELGOOD is pretty cool.
Hehehe ...
Aww Man! The actual vid for this is SOOOOO quintessential 80's Glam Metal! They GOTTA watch that one...
They are the start of what they called big hair bands in the 80's . Glam bands of early years turned into hair bands in the 80's . They are still rocking and on tour this year with Def Leopard and Poison.I still have my Crue t- shirt 1983
In a lot of ways, Shout at the Devil is almost the anthem of the 1980's.
Must include: In the Dark.
CRÜE!! 🤘😁🤘 ❤
There was a time where if you had this cassette as a kid, you could expect an intervention from a local church group.
They hit big with this album. Opening for Ozzy, what a tour. One of the best.
Saw Crue with Whitesnake July 5th 1987 in Memphis. Girls Girls Girls tour. Awesome show! One of the best concerts I ever saw!
Saw Motley Crue at the 1984 Monsters of Rock concert in Karlsruhe, West Germany. As I walked in, they were playing, "Shout at the Devil". The concert featured many great rock groups of the day. It was an awesome experience in a big stadium.
Seen them in concert in 87 with Whitesnake and Def Leppard. Great show, fun times!
I really enjoy watching you get into this music! Thank you for making me smile.
If you want a fun concert experience, whenever they're allowed to do it, but when they come to your area see Joan Jett, Poison, Motley Crue, and Def Leppard. You'll never forget it
Motley Crue is my all time favorite band. Vince Neil is the lead singer, Nikki Sixx on the bass, Mick Mars on lead guitar, and Tommy Lee on drums
The song that started my long term love affair with Motley Crue!!!! So glad to see you both rockin out to it!! Have a listen to Primal Scream!
Hi from Colorado. Back in the late 80's I went to see Motley Crue in concert. They opened for Whitesnake.
80s glam rock ! Is the. Best !
I knew Jordan would love this song, but I'm surprised how much Amber liked it!
"Shout at the Devil" is my favorite album by Motley Crue. There's not a bad song on the album.
"looks that kill" is another good one. love Amber reaction of the crue
One of their best songs....maybe the best......
Whole album is their best stuff! Fire! They didnt have noise cancelling back then... so my parents prolly unwillingly memorized this whole album! Had original vinyl till I wore it out!
Saw them while I was in the Navy in Memphis TN July 87 with Dio. Girls Girls Girls!! Great Concert!!
Please check out their song "Don't Go Away Mad(just go away) or Looks That Kill". I'm a long standing member of Motley "F**kin Crue" fans. Anything is fine, but those are favs.
Remember driving around town scooping out the guys blasting this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm an old school Tampa Bay fan
My way of life
I've been a Tampa Bay fan since 1978
Thru the Good,The Bad & The Orange &White
And God bless Lee Roy Selman #63
And Mr. Selman was our first Hall of Famer
OMG, what an awesome review day!!! My favorite so far! (I wish you had not used a lyric video tho.)
I love that Amber is loving the rock! This was one of my very favorite songs when I was a teen.
I just wish my darn phone had notified me - I'm an hour late! Darnit! Lol.
Seeing Amber rockin' to one my favorite 80's bands... Makes me smile! 😁
We're going to make her a Metal Hear yet, guys! 🤘🏽🔥
Yes, a nice heaping helping of hair bands today! You are making my Saturday! Can't wait to see #3. Hoping you get to White Lion or Ratt, or even Twisted Sister.
Binge watching your videos, this was my favorite album/band in the 6th grade! (1983-84)
For a completely different Motley sound, react to “Hooligans Holiday” featuring John Corabi on vocals. You won’t be disappointed.
Saw them in concert…..it was electric
Next from Crue.....'Too Young To Fall In Love, Too Fast For Love, She's Got The Looks That Kill, Same Ol' Situation, Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away), Primal Scream, Home Sweet Home, Live Wire, Without You, You're All I Need and Stary Eyes!!'
That's Vince on Lead vocal ,Mick on 🎸 Nikki on Bass ,and Tommy Lee on Drums baby!
I absolutely love motley crue!! Seen them live 6 times!! Vince dosent sound as good now but they still do a great show!!
This is just in your face... you cant deny it!
