Valiant Hailed As True Champion Of Sting 2022 After Impromptu Concert In Grizzly’s Car Park
Fast-rising artist Valiant is being hailed as a class act, after he provided his fans with a consolatory mini-concert in the Grizzly’s Plantation Cove parking lot, following the abrupt end of the Sting 2022 stage show, before he could give his full performance.
Valiant, who took to the external precincts of the St Ann venue, gave his performance on top of a motor car, and later shared a post of himself in action on his Instagram page.
However, he noted simultaneously that his first experience at Sting was not what he desired but that he had made the most of it by improvising and doing the post-show performance.
“My experience for 2022 “STING” SMH 🤦🏿♂️. Create moment through chaos🙏🏿,” he captioned the post which saw him singing several of his hits, with the gleeful crowd singing along like a choir.
Valiant currently has seven songs in Apple Music Jamaica’s top 10: Speed Off, Dunce Cheque, North Carolina, Barbies, Siance, St. Mary and C.A.L (Cut All Losses).
There was an outpouring of praises and best wishes for the Oberlin High School old boy from his followers on Instagram who saw his post.
“Greatness is within you. Continue stay humble!! The whole world see that you love your fans and music your not only doing it for the money. Your going places general continue hold your high people will always talk good or bad,” Nubian_san said.
Over on Twitter, many Dancehall fans commended Valiant for his act of outreach, and noted that while he was not able to perform, he was the true star of Sting 2022.
“Valiant is who really took Sting. To perform for your fans in the parking lot because you got limited time on stage was a class act,” theonlysabriena said.
“Valiant did more songs in the parking lot than he did on the stage #Sting2022 But his fan base grew heavily this morning with those parking lot videos,” Richie_forever added.
“U can tell Valiant really enjoying his stardom and has a real love for music/performing. Dont take it for granted that every Artist loves the music and esp performing, some really don’t and are in it for the things it brings. Right guidance thru his opportunities he will soar far,” one man noted.
“Honestly, Valiant knows how to actually sing, engage his audience, perform, has. Others argued that other performers whom they considered irrelevant had taken up the performance times which ought to have been reserved for artists such as him. Some singled out Dovey Magnum.
“Still can’t believe Dovey Magnum bad up Valiant, Kraff, Bayka and Armanii to sing ‘Bawl out’ on Sting stage,” moreislife said.

Some Dancehall fans had some choice words for Sting promoters, Isiah Laing and Heavy D.
“Sting 2022 was sh-t. F-ck u and ur crooked corruption Sting Production. Valiant didn’t even get to perform. This wasnt a stage show. It was a long dull affair culminating into a brawl,” one commenter said.
Others said that Valiant or another show promoter ought to capitalize on the moment and stage a major concert headlined by him.
“Valiant need fi just keep a show nxt year. Him and few others. Learn from the mistakes of sting,” one commenter noted.
“Valiant need fi do him own stage show with the rest of the tiktok artistes and a few veterans. Do sumn like what Alka did wid New Rules. Cause them do him wrong,” one woman advised.
Valiant, whose given name is Raheem Bowes, attended the St Marys College, Oberlin High School and the EXED Community College.
The Mannings Hill native worked in the Business Process Outsourcing sector before deciding to give his all to music.
He rose to prominence after being captured on camera engaging in a conversation at one of his music video shoots on his birthday, where he glibly uttered the words “kotch e hat, a lie” and which went viral, resulting in many music fans seeking him out after finding out that he was actually a singjay.
First Nation artist Jahshii has shed light on his absence from the Sting stage on Monday Night, noting that his management had withdrawn him from the show a day prior, and not due to the show running late as some persons thought.
