M4tactics, the Wen 3920 is an inexpensive beginners model. A big drawback is the bounce at high speeds. Bolting or clamping the unit down will solve that issue.

Where do you get the wood?

I got the wood for this project from a hardwood supplier (in Tucson), but I also have a local big-box store that has a decent supply. If neither of those are good options for you then Ocooch Hardwoods is a good online source.
