Which school did this person go to? I just wondered. For both me and my son, joining clubs was completely optional-you could join or leave whenever you wanted. My son even participated in three different clubs: tennis, shogi, and biology. He enjoyed each of them in his own way. (We both were born and brought up in Tokyo.)

People who are interested join the club of their choice. I think many students enjoy what they do because they love it. Students are free to quit if they don't like it. The same goes for cram school. Students who want to study will go. Students are free not to go. Therefore, clubs and cram schools are all decided by students based on their own will, so it is not something that everyone does. I don't know why the girl in the video is so pessimistic. There is no need for students to suffer in clubs or cram schools.
Japan has many kinds of rice seed. 282 kinds of rice seed is for casual meal. And also there are mochi rice seeds of 103 kinds. The highest quality rice is extrem expensive. Sushi must be Japonica rice, not indica rice.
What she said were not actually FACTS but rather her personal experience or exaggeration mostly. Club is not mandatory, most of my class mates did not go to cram school, we enjoyed visiting friends home after school to read Manga together…. It is true Japanese rice is very good because farmers pursue ultimate quality. Fruits are also very tasty due to that. I have been traveled to many countries but I have never had the same quality of rice. But rice cooker is not so expensive. Some buy expensive one but there are lots of cheaper ones. Standard ones are like 20,000yen to 50,000yen, I think.
Clubs are not mandatory, but most students do join. My son is in the kendo (Japanese sword fighting martial arts) club and he has practice everyday until 6pm, Saturdays and Sundays. He basically has no days off. During summer vacation, he only has basically a week out of the month and a half school break. The rest is devoted to club. It’s super intense. 😅
More than 40 years ago, when I was in junior high school in the countryside and there were few students, we were forced to join a limited number of sports clubs. Regardless of the sports themselves, I hated the unreasonable hierarchical relationships. After I went on to high school, I can say that I had a very easy life.
She exsggerates too much. especialy on school topics. or, she had unlucky school-life. Its a different story, if she includes "kitaku-bu". (kitaku-bu is a club-name students use as a joke that means "going-home club".) There are so many kind of clubs in Japanese school, so the most popular club is kitaku-bu.

私の通っていた中学校は、部活動に必ず入部しなければなりませんでしたが、部活動によって活動する頻度は様々でした。
毎日夜遅くまで活動するものもあれば、年に数回だけというものもあります。
彼女の話はかなり極端ですね。まず、クラブに必ず加入しなければならない、と言う様な学校は少数でしょう。通常、クラブに入るかどうか、何処に入るか、途中でやめたり、他のクラブに移籍するなどは生徒本人の自由意思に任されているはずです。クラブ活動を全然しない、いわゆる「帰宅部」の生徒の割合も、２割以上は居るはずです。
また、クラブ活動の時間は、学校によっても異なりますが、近年は時間短縮になって、日没前には終わらせるがティピカルになっています。さらに、祝日や夏休み冬休みのクラブ活動にも、一定程度の制約を課す学校も増えています。
ちょっとこの女性の話は、話半分で聞いた方が良いと思いますよ。

こういう話(ここでは部活や塾)をする場合は、必ずしも全ての学校で要求されているわけではない、簡単ではないとしてもやめようと思えばやめれるわけなので、全てがこうしてる，こうしないといけない風に解釈されない話し方をする方がいい。炊飯器に関しても、もっと安いのを使ってる人もいるし。。。全体的にちょっと偏った意見のように感じた🤫ライスの話は🙆

学校にもよりますが必ずでは無いかと思います。クラブに入らない人を帰宅部(kitakubu)と言います。帰るクラブですねw
Part1でもそうですが、この方誇張し過ぎというか偏りすぎですね。炊飯器もピンキリです。そもそも、味気ないのは味が付いてないご飯だけでは食べません。仮にごはんだけでも、おにぎりも塩がついてますし。おかずがあってごはんと共に口内調味するのです。

私は田舎に居ますが、向いの家はアメリカ人庭にバーベキュー設備あり時々沢山の外人が集まるよ。日本の米は確かに世界１。わずか2万の町で家畜の方が多い田舎でもアフリカ人も居ます。裏に居たアメリカ人は家族で帰国しましたが😢学校が刑務所も嘘‼️個人の意見ですね。皆自由に放課後塾や買い物デートを楽しんでる。1人の意見じゃなく色々な意見を聞いて発信してほしいわ。誤解を招くわ
