I like that the writers can let characters win/thrive, or at least delay the other shoe dropping for another day. Love your reactions and perspective on the technical aspects...
“We wanted him to have one thing that wasn’t pedestrian because he had already gone to New York, he had already gotten that James Beard Award. [...] It’s from the Japanese Knives of Beverly Hills. They’re super famous, people know them.” the show’s prop master Laura Roeper tells Variety. Carmy switches between the Yoshimi Echizen 240mm and 150mm, in addition to the Gesshin 210mm, throughout seasons 1 and 2 - all of which are from Japanese Imports in Beverly Hills. “The thing about that place is all the Japanese knives are hand forged,” Roeper says. “Each family and each artist that we work with does a different type of hand forged steel.” “And yes, they do come with a wooden sheath,” Roeper continues. “That’s to protect the knife, but also to protect anyone who would accidentally be messing with it. These knives will cut you so quickly, you won’t know what you’re doing. They are so sharp. They’re taken care of very differently. There’s only one or two places in Chicago that knows how to sharpen them.”
What was great about the party was that the three guys thought Carmey was a different guy so Carmen could just make something up and just be free and have fun.
I love this show, if i could make a recommendation for a Sci-Fi feel good show about philosophy and our place in the universe watch , "The Good Place."

I remember just being in a haze of frustration re: Carmy this episode. He does a grand total of one (1) thing this entire episode that helps the construction of his restaurant. And it still wasn't the fridge guy. A year or so on, I know now it was a deliberate move by the writers to foster that but still. I have to ungrit my jaw lol.
i love claire too! she's an interesting mix of introverted and forward, funny but her jokes don't always land. She's caring and honest. i've seen a lot of other reactors/fans of the show who think they're a little off-putting together, but i really like how carmy is always soft spoken and genuine around her, we don't often get to see that side of him in the kitchen or with his family.
I started reading the Vagabond series based on your recommendation quite some time ago. Very glad you recommended it. Excellent series with real humanity and personal growth, plus good action ;)
I love Claire bear. She's literally a dream girl and the kind of love that Carm needs in his life given the toxicity he surrounds himself with. I don't get the hate.
I think that's the reason. She's is literally a dream girl, with no flaws. Which is odd to see against all of the other characters that are very layered and feel realistic
I'm sure that someone else has said it, but I think (and I'm staking my claim to it now) that we're going to find out that, in the end, Mike's note to Carmy saying "Let it rip" is really "Let it R.I.P." Everyone will do better when they're not trapped in the kitchen together, and relationships will thrive.
Claire IS great...too great...one might say suspiciously Mary Sue great. I just wish we got to see more of her world or at least Carmy care more about her world. It's like her world revolves around him and I don't like it. Hopefully we explore more of Claire as a fully-formed human in season 3.
COUNTDOWN TO FISHES, Y’ALL!
Edit - and then FORKS.
Cant wait to see his reaction to that episode 😅😂
AND FORKS
One of my favorite episodes of all time
Forks is the best of season 2 imo@@connerwood7969
@@connerwood7969 Forks is the brilliant catharsis after the chaos of Fishes.
Shout out to Fak for always being positive and supportive

I love Tina. She's what happens when you embrace change and aren't afraid to show love for others. I think that crew would fall apart without her.
I really love that scene of Tina at the karaoke bar. It's one of the highlights of the season for me.

There's no doubt that James would vibe with "The Good Place."

I think you should also check out the tv show Warrior. It’s pure perfection

bro is rocking with vagabond??
Did you ever watch Invincible? Turns out, the woman playing Richie's ex voices Eve.
She’s also part of the main cast of Community
Wait, does this mean one more episode until Fishes? Oh I'm excited!
I deadass forget that this show is directed sometimes. It so feels like it isn't.
