I live in a small town in Oregon and had friends whose only child, a son, was a flight attendant on 103. He wasn't scheduled for this flight, but he took it as a favor to the attendant who was supposed to fly so he could be home for x-mas. His parents never spoke of the disaster, it was too painful even after all these years.
My late husband was a truck driver and he was near Lockerbie that fateful night and saw the plane explode and come down. I still cry now for the victims, may they be at peace.

I can highly recommend "Lockerbie" the new series with Colin Firth. It is excellent, deeply moving and the special effects are amazing. The series is based on the book The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father's Search for Justice by Dr Jim Swire whose daughter was on Flight 103. Colin Firth plays Dr Swire and gives a gripping and powerful performance.
While the world remembers Flight 103, hardly anyone remembers Flight 655 - an Iranian civilian passenger airliner that was shot down by a missile fired from a US warship, the USS Vincennes, in July of 1988, killing all 290 people on board. Such was the contempt for the lives of the Iranian civilians, that George Bush Snr arrogantly commented - “I will never apologize for the United States. I don't care what the facts are.." Hashemi Rafsanjani, the Iranian cleric, Vice President and second in command to the Ayatollah Khomeini, said something to the effect of - “The skies will roar with revenge
I remember back in August 2016, I flew on a United Airlines Boeing 757 nightflight from Newark to Heathrow and takeoff was delayed by 2 hours because someone had checked in their luggage but didn't board the plane so we had to go back to the gate and get it off the plane. That is one of the biggest impacts that Pan Am Flight 103 had!
In the late 2000's I went looking for used car parts in a vehicle salvage yard in Tattersall Lincolnshire, and in a open fronted shed I saw the front cockpit section of this Pan Am 103 747 and its name written on it!.....Man was that eerie!!!

Just so yall know. The music is not this loud in the Air Disasters US version. If the music is there at all in the US version. Im glad flight 103 will not be forgotten, by the new series coming out. Those victims will live on in memory. Also I give huge respect to the investigators for putting the pieces of the plane back together to help solve the case. When I first saw the new shows trailer I was unsure of exactly which flight this was, worrying that it was TWA Flight 800. It was not. None the less, I hope the passengers were immediately incapacitated before they knew what happened or before they could feel any pain. Edit: TWA Flight 800 was a horrific crash in 1996. The flight had left JFK in anew York 16 minutes prior when a bomb exploding behind the cockpit. The explosion caused the cockpit and cabin to separate. The cockpit began to fall but the cabin continued to climb for a few moments before it too fell towards the ocean. If any passengers were conscious they may have experienced one of the most terrifying “rollercoaster” rides ever. With a clear front row view to the open sky and ocean in front of them. However it is believed for the most part that everyone would have been knocked unconscious. Tragically there were no survivors, with all 230 passengers including 18 crew members killed. It is the USs 3rd most deadly aviation accident to date
Whoever mixed the sound for this really needs a talking to, as does everyone who approved it. This is kind of unwatchable because you can't hear the narrator at all.

The fastest route between those two point, is not along lines of latitude, following the rotation of the Earth. Instead, it’s to fly over the North Pole. Flight routes do not have airlines flying miles of course. If you have multiple flights they are separated by height, not distance apart.
An Airlines biggest outlay is fuel costs.. they do not fly hundreds of miles away from their destination. These flights are slotted around a year in advance.. this is how flight plans stack.. so it's not like you suddenly decide to all fly same direction at same date..
People always try to make sense of what they think.. they never actually look at all available information. Sadly, many run to the Internet and think it's somehow all knowing and only gives facts...
THE MUSIC IS WAY TOO LOUD
Could only be an American documentary: make it as cheesy and melodramatic as possible instead of just telling the events in a straightforward fashion.
Dislike due to high bg music
Can't watch it. Audio is all wrong
I was in prison with the accused until he was released sad fit up from an incompetent government
you are aware in your thumbnail , you show a 747-400 , Pan Am 103 was a 747-121. if your calling your self a Aircradt channel , can you not get the basics right ??
Thanks to CC closed caption ❤

@@DZ.aviation.2110 Oh no, what happened?
@etherealgalaxies6 It was March 6, 2003, an Air Algérie plane took off from Tamanrasset airport in Algeria, just as it took off the number 1 engine exploded then the plane stalled and crashed in the desert. There are 102 dead and 1 survivor😥.
Yeah audio mix needs looking at, music and effects drown out the narrator, should be the other way around.
they have to stop wearing ray bans..
2009.
Music to loud not watchable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
17:45 What's the deal with the extra engine on that 747? Is it just a rendering error, because it also switches sides.
The 747 is actually capable of carrying 5 engines! Although when the 5th is attached it isn’t used. Purely for bringing engines overseas for other planes that need it I believe
I watch air crash investegation on TV sinds i was 17 ,i am now 31 years old .
I can help now by a aircrash investegation i think
Sound mix is wrong. Please reload and I’ll watch it!
The background music is ridiculous... we don't need it. Very well done though. Such an evil tradegy. All those innocent lives.
You need to turn the narrator up a lot. Im not sure how viewers have been complaining for months and it is only getting worse.
