    Have you ever wondered about the actual performance difference between the latest Intel Core i7-13700K and the 12700K? Well, you've come to the right place, because today I'll not only be comparing specs and clock speeds, but productivity and gaming performance, as well.
    Could an upgrade maybe be worth it to some of you? Or is it wiser to just skip this generation? After all, it comes with its downsides.

    Many thanks go out to 🏆#Georgios over at 🏆#quippr for getting a hold on these CPUs for my review. #NotSponsored 🤗🤩
    What would you consider the biggest improvements, as well as downsides here? 🤔😅

    Good Video! One thing I miss here: You also should have tested the CPUs with the same Clockspeed. With that, we could have seen how much Raptor Lake is faster Clock for Clock...

    I think I'll hold onto my 12700. It does what I need it to do. if I'm going to spend a ton of money, I want a ton of performance improvements and not just high temperatures and a big power draw.

    Great review as always. IMO the power consumption is insane on 13th gen CPUs, anything over an i5 13400f IMO consumes way too much power.

    • @AlfaPro1337
      @AlfaPro1337 Год назад +2

      Nope, only on 100% full load, like rendering and stuff, the power draw is gonna be insane. I don't think games is gonna use all 100% CPU usage, NOR at idle. In fact, idling on desktop, it's can go single digit value.

  • @saricubra2867
    @saricubra2867 Год назад +5

    Intel had to do a 20% IPC uplift on Raptor Lake and keep the 3.4-3.8GHz range for the e-cores. Power draw increases by a lot once you go past 3.8GHz.
    Making e-cores that run at 4.2GHz and P-cores way beyond 5GHz kinda kills the entire purpose of Big-Little on x86.

    The 13700K has good perfomance, but it's an 12900K 2.0 after alll, efficency is bad making that chip very impractical for a lot of people.
    I would recommend a Ryzen 9 7900 over that chip.

    I have a 12700k but i dont know how to have it unlocked i wanna use its full potential in gaming i want to activate its turbo boost mode so it can draw as much power and to put as much load on itself as possible if it is needed, any idea how can i do that ?

    • @TheRightToFilmPolice
      @TheRightToFilmPolice Год назад

      It turbos on its own. There isn't much overclocking headroom on the 12700k since it runs pretty hot and uses 230 watt, 250 to 270 when turboing and being overclocked. What kind of cpu cooler you using? You might be talking about thermal throttling where your processor slows down to cool off. Or lowers voltage. You do all this in the motherboard bios or in the app that the motherboard may have come with for easy basic overclocking.
