The guy is still not fully exposing bits. I am from bits hyd eco+cs branch. The placement scenario is even worse and my total fees is 35L it will be even higher for 24 batch but still guys the environment and culture bits provide is amazing u will have like minded around u for 5 years which really motivates u to improve yourself.

I live in very close proximity to iit kgp and my school is also inside the campus and placemts here are also not that good. Not a bits porblem its recession.
One more thing in iit s the fees around 12 to 13 lakh for general candidates.

Bit surprised by the very short-term and transactional view of these smart kids whose opinion about BITS was cited in the video. Just because the job market is slow / bad, does it suddenly make tier-2/tier-3 colleges a better option than BITS ? BTW, not sure if you guys have seen the NET fees (+ hostel + hidden costs) of other tier-2 and tier-3 private colleges. I don't think BITS is much more expensive, on the contrary, I know of some not-so-great tier-3 (but surprisingly high NIRF ranked) colleges, whose total fees is 20% higher than that of BITS. In the end the job market is a temporary thing and a cycle that repeats every few years. It'd eventually improve (might not get as good as the 2019-20 markets anytime soon), but then the value of the BITS tag, and "how the kid used the opportunities" BITS gave him/her, is going to make a difference. Finally, one can totally ruin the given opportunities, in any college. Even when studying at NIT, one can squander away their opportunity.

Don't let him fool you. He is just pissed off. Bits is really great option much better than any nit. You have a lot of opportunities to explore. Honestly I am a 99%iler myself and have chosen goa campus eee . All three campuses are good if you are smart and willing to learn. Some of the proffessors here are just phenomenal one of which is a phd from stanford and has transister patents and the other is phd from Oakridge national lab and has worked on one of the worlds fastest supercomputers in the US. But I do not know anything about whether taking a loan is good or not. Just stating some of the facts. If your budget is constrained , then I do not say anything. Yes there is a recession and yes there is a problem in placements , but it is everywhere . So take an informed decision keeping in mind your next 4 years . Because you must know both sides of the coin . All the best for your journey. Wish you luck.

@@10daysAgo Many people prefer bits over top nits, I am in class 11th currently but I have done research about these collages (ofcourse at google level). The curriculum of nits and iits is outdated and I feel is a concerning subject. BITS is based on MIT collage and is trying it's best to introduce startup culture to students. Coding is taken too seriously there but research is ok. Reservation is 0% in bits. NITS are really good too but it is said if you have choice between good nits/new iits vs bits, one should go for bits. As talking about old iit's, they have edge over bits
Looking at the history and studying graphs, Job Market abhi to pura down pe hai but in the next 4-5years it is going to comeback because if u study history many things get repeated in cycles. For example, COVID was predicted by many book readers because in history before 100 years this had happened (plague).
Right now we are like jaise Plague ke baad me and Before Industrilization era tha India mai (most of us don't know) us era mai hai hum, matlab in this year we are before industrialization era and in next 4-5 years we will get into era similar to industrialization as out Govt is working its best to grow India similar to what the then Govt Did...and industrialization means more jobs.... Baki tum log ki marji hai....

I am a first year at Goa. Fees ka scene hai but honestly this guy is known for targeting BITS for views. Listen little sis, you could get an education loan too. Unless you are getting a branch you are passionate about in another university which is better, I think you should not give up BITS. You will have to work hard af though but that is the reality everywhere. Plus current placement stats won't be valid 4-5 years later, we have a recession rn. Anyways, all the best with all your future educational endeavours
Edit: Saare exams de le, sab jagah select ho ja, phir araam se decide kar kya karna hai. JEE, BITSAT sab karna then worry about which one to join

In my opinion seat intake should be reduced back to earlier levels and also dual degree thing should be scrapped off cause I have seen vast difference between jee ranks ,also BITSAT cutoff for dual degree has gone so low anyone can get that if someone has no money issues ...

everyone is eligible for scholarship at bits if you have enough merit,
if you talk about mcn, the latest limit was 12L (not sure, will update here)
