- The awesome Antonov AN-22 Antei starting up & departing from Oostende on 16 july 2020, bound for Africa.
The Kuznetsov engines driving these huge contra-rotating props create an incredible sound.
Thanks to the Antonov crew for the friendly wave from the cockpit :-) !
Flight details:
a/c: AN22A UR-09307
Airline: Antonov Airlines
Flight: ADB5435 - Авто/Мото
I work at Malibu High School. It is below a flyway in So. Cal. One day I heard a RACKET flying overhead. My flight app. told me it was an AN-22 at 35,000 ft.. I will never forget that SOUND!
I was working on my motorcycle and had the same! But the AN-22 was in climb at about 22000ft. Man i was so damn happy at that moment! :)
Even if she's real high altitude you can still hear her deep roaring. Beautifull sound engraved in my eardrums.😁
Get a real job!!
Does anyone watching this notice this plane has a permanent smile ?
Он тебе в гостиной улыбается будет.

Still after all these decades, an incredibly impressive aircraft to behold.
RIP Antonov AN -225....long live AN-22A!
She's also damaged, unfortunately 😢 but seems repairable.
Strongest 225 fan: "But the Antonov 225 can carry more cargo and is the biggest in the world!"
Weakest 22 enjoyer: *"haha big propeller plane go brrr"*
Слава Олегу Константиновичу Антонову - гениальному Советскому авиаконструктору!!!
What a work of art and a marvel of engineering, simply beautiful...
Made in USSR

the closest I ever go to one was in the Speyer transport museum in Germany. You can visit the inside incl. the flight deck.
I worked for three years along the runway at the home of some C5A Galaxy airplanes, and as big and impressive as they are, this one doesn't disappoint me! It is a shame about the big one that was destroyed. A damned shame.
It sure is an impressive plane, suffered some damage as well :-( . Nice to read you worked close to C5As, loved their sound.
@@WiMo2017 And, when I watched the big ones coming in, it didn't look like they were going fast enough to stay aloft! But once they hit the deck, I'd realize how fast something that large was rolling! It made my semi trucks seem like an inconsequential gnat! Thanks!
@@WiMo2017 I am hoping it's not a write off and that it can return to flight as soon as everything is over, particularly with baldy as the loser.
You mean An-225 Mriya?

I live in Leipzig, in germany and i know that UR-09307 is still alive i hear her heart beating ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ the only true and the most stunning and beautiful plane around the world, in the past, the presence and in the future.
That thing actually got off the ground. I'm amazed every time.
incredible work of soviet enginnering
The engines were designed by a group of interned German engineers. Same engines as on TU-95.
@@xandervk2371 Just like the Saturn V rocket was developed by a group of interned German space engineers. It turns out that the conquest of the moon is not an American merit.

The Ukraine flag colors on the side looks not Russian, however Russia can hope😮
Soviet beauty through and through ❤
This is one of the most beautiful plane I've seen in a while! Very unique shape and very good conditions!
different design concept than the ones we are used to (Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, etc)
I'm guessing that you need more than just 2 pilots and an FE!!!
Beautiful no, weird yeah...
Мощь Советского Союза!
Такой мощный, что аж развалился
That guy has some serious guts to be standing near the spinning blades!
The most beautiful transport machine.
I love those opposite propellers, one blade of it is bigger than the man that stands under it.
Woooow what an awesome aircraft!
Now that the 225 is out of commission I've found out about this beast and it didn't disappoint!
yes, uptill now the AN225 stole mostly the show :-( , but the AN22 is as well a sight and sound to behold !!!
Nice of Putin to destroy the big aeroplane! What a scumbag!
@@WiMo2017 I would love to see both planes fly side by side
@@ibogggh2975 maybe this Happens once again ❤️❤️❤️ i think i have to tear cuz i can't stand this.. i Just Imagine this day how Happy i might be to see them together and tears of happiness🥰😘🥰😘🥰
splendid compolation, fabulous close ups and super sound especially during take off , friendly wave from the pilot as well, simply the best plane and sound around , vintage 1965
Thanks Patrick! yes, we 're both having a ball here lately :-) . We needed to have some patience , but in the end it paid off !
the takeoff sound is so good!!!
LOUD is an understatement!!
Толстячок ушел в небо! Красиво!
Слава советским инженерам. 👍
super video, turning propellers for a change, a rare occurrence these days. And a very rare airplane.
Потрясающее, впечатляет какую технику создали люди👍 съемка супер💪
What an incredible aircraft!
Those engines sound beautiful! Better than any turboprop in the U.S.A.
Yes, very good aircraft, smooth sound from those engines, a lot of power versus the payload capacity.
they are the most powerful turboprop in the world the nk12
And India😁😆😅🤣
By far 😌
Всегда приятно видеть этого гиганта. Спасибо за видео.
Спасибо !
No problem
8:30 new favourite sound no doubt about that
Hey...The An 22 has a smiley face....
What an incredible piece of machinery!!!
Great video. We can see the metal body imperfections / bumps of the plane airframe. Regardless it is Soviet era plane, low quality, fuel guzzling , loud, no luxuries and yet fulfilled the soviet needs
Супер звук и мощный вид этого монстра😮
Amazing video. That's an astonishing plane 🤍🤍
В Ташкенте на ТАПОиЧ строили их! Не раз и не два, видел их на испытательных полётах на ЛИСе. Ещё не окрашенные, цвета аннодированного дюраля.
Super awesome wicked sound at 8:38!
That......Was.........AMAZING!!!!!! I love the sound, and the double props are very neat.
Would be unfair, to not share this ;-)
Look at Tu-95 Bear bomber
She has great presence, even now!
Almost as beautiful as a radial engine start! (5:02)
This bird deserves a good name and a safe place to sleep! Congrats.May be one day if I was super rich? I would buy one of these and a permanent crew.to go with her!.
Fantastic footage of this enormous turboprop. Truly one of the most unique aircraft ever built. Leave it to the Ukrainians at Antonov to build big.
Children, that is the doppler effect.
Those counter-rotating props make a ton of noise!
Classic Racket , absolutely top draw

The takeoff is the best part of the entire video! Awesome sound
The sound of power! RrrAaaagggghhhhh!!!!!!!
I saw my arrival with my Partenavia P66C I-IABP ...good memories !!
2:02 That plane has a big smile on its face :)
What a BEAST!!! Magnificent! I really love the windows in the nose!! It would be awesome to ride there!!!
Awesome... the 'external' combustion on start-up just adds to the awe!
That thing wakes me up often. 😅
Massive plane.
Funny how, even though there are much larger, heavier aircraft now, the An-22 still simply seems more massive than the rest. Something about its shape, the twin tailfins and those landing gear sponsons: just seems super-big.
that's true: it remains an impressive aircraft. Must have to do with the design indeed: massive landing gear sponsons, particular nose.... Never fails to impress!
Russia has a lot of gas so it can afford to build as big of an aircraft as it wants.

Love the sound the AN22 makes. Reminds me of a B-36 takeoff without the jets running.
unfortunately never witnessed the B36🙂 but I guess so. Love the sound
The sound of those big props putting down that much power is amazing indeed.
That air craft is huge
I Love this plane but it visited my hometown last in december 2020. A year ago. Long Time I havn't seen this Beauty, i Love it.
SHEEESH HE REALLY BIG
This is a magnificent footage of the startup and takeoff on this rare An-22A Antei 😎✨
I love the sound when take off...😁👍
Thanks for sharing. Such a classic design with a unique sound.
Amazing that it can even fly, really. Great footage, thanks!
Thank you, happy to share,
That take off was musical. 😮

It is indeed awesome. Thank you for filming and uploading, and wishing Good Luck in the Ostend Airport!
You're welcome, thank you !
It is smiling with bucked-teeth. How can you not love it?
8:31, the loudest takeoof eve heared
I can't explain why, but I love seeing & hearing this plane
Look at the fire coming out of those engines at startup-a turboprop with afterburners! What a mammothly magnificent Ukrainian machine. And that _SOUND!_ 💛🇺🇦
And the smell of burning gasoline early in the morning.
Smells like...victory.

Yes. Although Oleg Antonov was born in Moscow, and moved to the Ukrainian SSR from Siberia with his aircraft factory and employees when he was already 48 years old. But now he has become a native Ukrainian. He would be surprised if he heard that the planes that his factory makes are Ukrainian.
Красивый советский самолёт.
engine nacelles remind me of the DART engines of 748 / Herald / Friendship era ?? super clean and aerodynamic !
Propellers are just so cool!
I love this thing. I hope I'll get to see one.
Que aeronave incrível!
What fascinated me was when the ground crew were doing the push-back and walking alongside the nose landing gear, how huge those nose wheel tyres are!! They must be almost 5 feet in diameter! 😱
I wasn’t expecting fire to come out of the props😅
What a beast, what a noise!!! Magnificent.
Alles Antonov ! Alles gut !
That thing wakes me up pretty frequently. :D
Remarkable aircraft. Thanks
Beast of a Plane . Excellant !
Thank you for posting this excellent video of this amazing aircraft.
Glad to share , thanks !

It's must be great seeing alot antonov inside their Company
Those are very small engines…im impressed.

What a sound. Great video!!
what an amazing sound!
That’s a real beauty! Love the sound, nothing else like it; we’ll maybe a Tu95!😊
