I quit my job last month, had a bullying boss, toxic work etc and finally needed to focus on my mental health for once. I am happy and free from chaos, and will be very careful when looking for a new job/career.
Hey Natalie, could you broaden the part about "not burning the bridges"? For example, how long before you left your job you let your manager know that you were going to leave? I am planning to leave my current job at the end of this year, and it feels kind of a "leap of fate" move. Because I want to change my working area even if my next job may be a junior position. You know, your first job may not be the job you always wanted. (When I heard this expression in your Adulting 101 video, it made me feel relieved at the time, about my job) I am curious about your opinions on this subject.
Generally speaking you should give a 2 weeks notice rather than quitting and never coming back. My job asked me to give 8 weeks so I can help train the new person replacing me. 8 weeks is A LOT and you do not have to say yes to that. But, I didn’t have another job I was going to so I said I could do 6 weeks. I would just respectful when quitting and show gratitude rather than being angry and going off on them.
I am sorry but you are literally a RUclipsr, your income comes from youtube. Who are you to educate us on jobs when you are making money from your viewers.
