hold the + for 10 seconds the dot should blink and then let go there are 4 settings from there always on, 12 hours, 4 hours, and 10 minutes hit the - until it blinks once then hit the + and - to turn off and save the setting then turn it back on it let it sit for 10 to 12 minutes completely motionless cause its super sensitive after those 10 to 12 minutes the sight should be off if you even breathe on it the dot will turn back on you're welcome
I am in the same boat, I watched a video on how to reset and then set it for 10 minutes, I even took the battery out and put it back in, dot does NOT turn off. Calling Holosun tomorrow.
honestly i own 14 holosuns and they have been great. only had one issue and it was the sight couldn't be turned off. that being said the shake awake worked fine. contact them as they will make it right for you. when i sent in my 4 year old hs 507c v-1 due to not being able to shut off i received a brand new one in a week and a half and they sent me the new v-2 to replace it. i was very satisfied.

It can be turned off , I believe it’s holding the up and down for 5 seconds at the same time
