A lot of you have been requesting that I continue the Company of Heroes series for some time now. So I present to you the start of the Soviet campaign! This walkthrough will be 14 episodes long and for each mission (just as I did in the original CoH series) I will break down the units/strategies for those interested. Before I begin, however, I will answer some questions I'm inevitably going to receive: Will I play Theater of War missions and the Ardennes Assault expansion? Eventually, but not right after since I'm going to be cracking out several walkthroughs while I take a break from Fallout 3. Will I play Company of Heroes 3? No, I typically never play a game until it's all patched out and expansions/dlc are out. When will I upload more Fallout 3? Probably a few months give or take. Those episodes take more time to make to ensure I don't miss anything important. I want to keep the channel varied so the following walkthroughs won't take long and will spice things up. With all that being said... let's start with the only unit of the 1st mission: Shock Troops. Equiped with PPSh smgs and light body armor, they're suited for close range combat and come equiped with frag/smoke grenades. After veterancy 1, for campaign only, they will unlock the Fire Superiority ability which let's them suppress a target while slowly approaching them. This mission is very straightforward since there's no base building involved. While it might seem difficult considering you cannot reinforce any squad losses, the game will let you call in reinforcements for free so it's really just a matter of how fast you want to complete the mission. Simply pick a side to push up on, keep your units grouped and in cover as much as possible, and close the gap to maximize damage since you only have access to smgs. That's all you really need in order to beat this mission even on "hard" difficulty. Enjoy!
14, eh? Will try to wonder how many the AA campaigns will have. Wise decision, waiting for the GotY/Definitive Edition level content. Edit: However, I have one big nitpick: why is the volume here sound a bit weak, especially on character and unit dialogue?
Of course, not all units followed such a belief system, though they were mostly subtle about it so to avoid authoritative scrutiny or whatever. Either way, their grit and determination amidst all odds sure won the war in the end.
The supply shortages were really an issue in the beginning of Barbarossa, 1942 and onwards it was practically non existent, no troops went to combat without weapons, it’s a myth spread by enemy at the gates
Not to mention my almost 26k of score to beat on Ardennes. If nothing else I will know what do to differently once I do my runs of CoH 2 compared to you.
@@filiptrescec yes, I will definitely try to maximize my score best I can. Lot of good strategies to come up with while I practice on the Soviet campaign and ToW.
Love how the German 6th army is apparently made up entirely off Russian Liberation Army troops. It's like the Eastern Front was a Civil war in this game. Ostheer uniforms in this game were straight up terrible.
As much as I like this game......I've always hated how this game.....or in fact any popular media has tried to wrongly depict the Soviets as incompetent fools who forced their own soldiers to charge up to fortified MG positions without any support whereas it absolutely wasn't the case.Yes,the Soviets did initially take heavy losses due to incompetent leadership owing to Stalin's purges but no mass suicide charges were launched by the Red Army to overwhelm German positions.
(Huh... good thing I finished Civvie 11's Cryostasis on time. Oh, well, the Read or Die OVA+TV series binge will have to wait.) Half-expected Homeworld Classic to be honest, but then my other mind half noticed the possible timing with CoH 3... guess the latter is right. 2:51: Enter possibly one of the most unreliable narrators in video gaming history (and also the "subjective POV" character for this entire campaign). 3:07: That's right, the campaign is actually an entire flashback. 5:36: Preparing interactive combat scenario. March on, Marx's guinea pig. Always with the bloody Stukas. Those things are sure hated by gamers since the old Call of Duty installments. For "Shock Troops," they sure aren't elites. Then again, this games' veterancy system will change that. Even in this hell, at least somebody is still helping civilians without complaint. 16:43: Alas, this game follows on more to the flabbergasted nonsense of Enemy at the Gates (and maybe even Stalingrad 2013) and not the painful yet nuanced insensibilities of Stalingrad 1993 (and even Call of Duty: World at War). Order No. 227 wasn't that brutal in reality, and even then, it was eventually abolished for being both useless and counterproductive. 17:55: Oops. 21:36: This, horrifically, is based on reality... the Eastern Front rarely has true morally high heroes in the span of the Second World War. (So, SM, am curious: have you already tried out Gunpoint?)
@@Zaku_Meister thinking more about it I could've sworn I saw those games in an arcade a long time ago. Probably a different game entirely, but that's all I can imagine when I see that name now.
Yeah, RTS game advertisements nowadays tend to not be that trendy anymore, which is a shame. By the way, the people who made this also did Homeworld, Dawn of War, and Impossible Creatures.

Weird just found you and watched your COH playthrough and was sad to see that you didnt have a COH2 playthrough. Then 2 days later, there it is
I've been looking forward to this!
Ah company of heroes 2 been hoping you play this game can't wait to see more of this Ura comrade make the mother lands proud.

Yes! At long last you're playing CoH2! This is great news indeed!
It's not Homeworld, Dawn of War, or even more Fallout 3, but it is nicely welcome.

"I have no weapon!" "So find one!" That really encapsulates the Soviet mentality of the time.
