- A couple of disappointments, adoption updates, turning some out , late nights, early Mornings, BAMBI has her twins and some better weather finally! All the updates from our lambing time at Dale Farm!
The three mule lambs sure are little beauties. Joanna you're doing great. It's always a rotten feeling when you have losses and I know it's not much comfort, but truly, you can't be everywhere at once; nobody can. You are doing everything humanly possible Joanna never doubt that.
Thank you Jeff. At that moment I lost my perspective in was so frustrated with myself for getting it wrong, but with a bit of time I was able to accept that unfortunately it happened , it will probably happen again!!
Well Joanna...as my Grandpap John told me [the young lad I was] 'with livestock you'll have dead stock...suck it up and take care of your livestock.' It's tough advice, but honest advice. Those lambs look GRAND - you and Nick should be well chuffed despite the losses. Good luck with the rest of the lambing! Be well - many blessings. Cheers...
Very true and wise words from that man!!
We have lots of good lambs to be thankful for
Joanna. There’s only One winner in this game…Mother Nature… don’t beat yourself up, your doing a grand job👍
Thank you for the reminder xxx
My dear, you cannot win them all. Some of them will pass on. You are doing an excellent job. You are also tired. I watch other channels and every one of the sheep farmers run off of their feet and all seem to be hard on themselves when lambs are hung or pass. You are tired and all you can do is your best. Hugs from BC Canada.
Thank you for the lovely words of support and encouragement
stay strong joanna you always have upsets at lambing time but you do have some cracking lambs take care
Thank you Alan x
That's a class video of your sheep 🐑 and your lovely lamps to and your a lovely farmer girl to ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you xx
You and Nick are doing a grand job. You can't blame yourself for lamb deaths. You have a heck of a busy time (plus the campsite), so please don't beat yourself up about mishaps they happen. Take care. Your dad would be so proud xx
Thank you , that’s very kind of you to say that xx
Good luck with the rest of the lambing Guys . We could live with the ewes 24 hours a day and still lose some. You are doing very very well .
Thank you Gerry. That is true , I think I forget sometimes , put a bit too much pressure on myself !
@@DaleFarm there's nobody that don't have losses Jo , you are doing much better than most. If the majority of farmers get 1.7 lambs per ewe they are happy Jo. You and Nick are doing a great job 👏
@@gerryoconnor8751agreed 💯. Greetings from Poland and rural living ( channel 😊)
@@agnesskibicka thank you, I must have a look for your channel. X

I've seen so many lambing videos lately that have such horrible weather resulting in loss of lambs. My heart goes out to all of you. Thank you for caring.
It’s been a pretty rough time in the uk for farmers in general! 😢😱
@@DaleFarm One of the dairy farmers (Tom Pemberton) mentioned how tough it had been for sheep farmers this year. You sure could use a break. Hugs and prayers for you all.
Hi Jo
Oh dear not been a good day or two I guess but look on the bright side you have lots of beautiful lambs that did survive and they are really cute.
No point blaming yourself it’s nature sadly.
A special well done to ‘Bambi’ and ‘nibbles’
Hope ya week gets better and it stays dry for you
Hope you manage to get some sleep too
Love Kim x
Thank you Kim! My lovely ladies have done so well, ❤️ it’s a better day today the sun makes me feel a lot brighter but it’s a chilly start! Lots of love back and thanks for watching dx
Your doing a fantastic job it’s not easy , I’m struggling myself as well , we will get through it 👍
Thank you Declan ❤️
Stay strong your winning 😊
Thank you ❤️
Keep strong Joanne you and Nic doing great work and I know is very hard to see losing some little lambs for a few minutes and I sorry to hear Joanne other than that your farm looks Amazing 🙏👋🤗🍻💪
Thank you Giuseppe x
If everybody had a nibbles in their life the World would be a better place , keep strong Joanna I think the two of you are great x
Ahhh thank you
Today is nibbles birthday!!! ❤️
@@DaleFarm Happy birthday 🎂 beautiful nibbles 👏👏 ❤️ love ❤️
Your doing a great job, don’t beat yourself up over a mistake, plus you had the bonus of triplets when the ewe was scanned for twins lol
Thank you! Yes that was a surprise
Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re doing great under some really tough conditions this year ❤
Thank you andy! A year to remember for all the wrong reasons
Im so happy you got a lamb for the ewe that lost a big single
Yeah a happy ending
Your doing a fantastic job don’t be so hard on yourself and loving your videos 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much Paul xx
Great video Joanna and great lambs 👌
Thank you Gary
You can't live life by I could have. Doing a great job and you have saved more than lost. Focus on the wins and forget the inevitable losses.
Thank you rob, I think it’s easy to lose perspective when all you are doing is farming
13:25 Sureley baby Nibbles must be Niblettes?
Loving watching these lambing videos... it's the start of something fresh when lambing starts. Love to all.
Thank you ! Yes the Niblettes! Love
It
i've recently discovered that i have a low tolerance for frustration. it makes me cry and get angry too. yet it is a part of life. I love the way you express yourself, then shake yourself off and move on. I've been watching lambing videos from the UK and it's been brutal over there! absolutely brutal. I think you have been brilliantly successful in terrible conditions.
Thank you, yes that’s interesting about the tolerance for frustration! I know i set high standards for myself and so I am
Easily disappointed or hard on myself which it silly sometimes because we can’t always get everything right or perfect !! It’s a truly challenging time for farmers , thank you for supporting
Good luck for the rest of the lambing
Thank you Allan
Don't beat yourself up is hard I know want all to survive Lovell when farming no patronise love you lots❤
Thank you mark
Your a happy farmer girl ❤❤❤
Sorry for your lamb loss, you can’t do everything right all the time. Cut yourself some slack, and look at all the successes. This has been an especially challenging lambing season.
Thank you Judy. Just want some better weather so badly it rains every day or night it seems
Excellent video again thanks for sharing always ups and downs in farming cannot be everywhere at once keep your chin up and keep going XX
Thank you Terry x
Now guys this is not a rant but speaking about frustration!, watching you up n down that fecking lane in this weather and the shed full of (stuff)! Nice n dry. Looks like you have more than enough room for them all for the fortnight in the dry, it would be so much easier on you and the sheep. I’m so jealous of your buildings it’s driving me nuts, please ring progressive changes. You are doing such a good job and have a quality guy by your side so no more blubbering and get on with it. Excellent work.
We haven’t got space inside for them all, we have been struggling to get hold of straw as well, so the best option for us is to leave the ewes outside cos they are fine and bring anything in that lambs for a day or so 👍 if we wanted to move to “indoor lambing” we would need to amend the shed and be organised for that to take place , we are set up for “outside “ lambing with space to bring in those that need it most 👍
You are doing your very best, no need to say more.
Thank you Ian x
You always get things going wrong but others go right. Keep going. We appreciate all the videos. All the best 🇬🇧
Thank you ☺️
Good video and some amazing lambs ❤keep positive,, the weather is getting better so hopefully all will run smoothly ❤
Take care of yourself too ❤
You have lovely lambs. Don't be too hard on yourself about the lamb in the sack. You are doing your best and that's all you can do. Sheep and lambs are well cared for. You have to allow for a few loses.
Thank you so much, I lost my perspective a little, and was kicking myself I felt it could have been avoided but hindsight is a wonderful thing !!!!
THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO JOANNA , PLEASE STAY SAFE AND WELL , XXX . 🐑
Thank you Ernest
Love your passion Joanna, as much as I know you love nature, I know you do more then other would ever be able to do, please do remember that nature has a way of reminding us that no matter how hard we fight, some life was just not meant to be.
Thank you for the comment and the reminder , yes I think you are so right x
Lovely video and reaffirming message to us all. How precious every day is. Life is hard and certainly luck is a big factor. Thank you for doing the videos, we all appreciate them so much and all the effort it must take to put them out. I hope that helps in some small way. Peace and love to you and Nike. Cheers.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment
Sending you both good luck wishes during the lambing season 👍👍👍
Thank you Michael
I know it's difficult but gosh the triplet field looks beautiful.
Yes it’s a wonderful sight
Isn’t it !!
so cute, the weather has been awful, hopefully sunnier days to come x
Yeah! Today is a better day here! Thank Goodness
Joanna & Nick as long as the troubles no matter how bad they are in the fields and yard stay out of the house. Keep strong and keep doing what yous are doing. Ever farm has these types of losses. I lambed at Christmas and January and it is a struggle too. Ground conditions are shocking. Rab G. Co. Antrim
Thank you for the wise words x it’s been a tough time for farmers hasn’t it x
Well done Joanne Great hit of lambs. Xx
Thank you David
Hang in there , your doing the best you can .and you are doing well .
Thank you Nancy x
So,e more cracking lambs👌👍. You will always loose a few, that’s part of it but think of the ones you saved as well.
Thank you Casto!
Hi Joanna and Nick. It is such a fine line between joy and pain during lambing. I am glad the adoptees are working out well so far. Sending good vibes from down south.💐
Thank you Colin! Yes absolutely it’s a fine line ! X

Wishing that things get better! A lot of people will sit and watch, then say you should have done this or that! It’s very easy to play vet to somebody’s else’s animals.
I think that's not the point. She made videos, she wants viewer, they bring money. All right so far.
Of course people are writing good advices. What else?
My cousin has lots of sheeps also. I'm not happy with the trend of triplets. You get more babys, yah. But it's a burden for mothers.
@@Hroswitha_R___ not always, people second guess others all the time.
Try not to get upset, you can’t beat nature,no matter how good a farmer you are.it’s frustrating yes very, think positive your doing well, and your both working long hrs,and are tired ,when the last lamb arrives both of you need a night out.Head up now NO tears and upset just enjoy the lambs running and playing, knowing you got it right, catch you again take care both.
Thank you very much for that pep talk! Yes you are right !! And yes , We do need a night out ! Haha x
The stone walls are a blessing when it comes to shelter. Sorry you are taking it so hard, but even in the shed you may just go out for a pee and a lamb can suffocate. I have to say I felt far more in control with an indoor lambing facility. What about a heavy duty poly tunnel that could also be used to grow veg later in the season.
Yeah indoors would be a big shift for us,
Something to think about
Strong lambs good for the heart ❤️
❤️
Saved a dying lamb yesterday, which got on wrong side of fence to ewe, made my day.
Well done 😀😀
Baby nibbles is such a cute little booger
Absolutely! Glad you think so
Good luck with the rest of the lambs have you got many ewes still to lamb Joanna and Nick 👍👍👍
Hi sandy we have 34 sheep left to lamb , so we have lambed about 56 so far xx
I love those Adoption successes & don't be so hard on yourself having to look after/respectfully watch/monitor the ewes giving birth you would need hundreds of eyes everything in life is here the heartbreaking losses & the Wonderful Mules xx
Thank you somuch David
lambing ewes is like going to war ........you will always have losses ....... take it from me you are doing very very well and have very few losses , cant get over how good the triplet lambs are , triplets with me never seem to go so well ....this year was no exception ......... you were lucky that the ewe took to the lamb so easily , its against the run of things for them to do so esp of the ewe has reared a few crops of lambs before .........hopefully the weather will settle down soon , makes all the difference in farming .......!
Thank you so much, your words of experience and encouragement are really helpful!! I love that you said “lambing is like going to war “ !!! It really is
Weather still crazy here really , cold , every 24 hours heavy rain
Hello Joanna and Nick, Well ,I know it's very heartbreaking, but the truth is, it's very hard to save them all. At least that's what I always told myself calving out cows. Do you ever skin the dead lambs and tie the skin onto the bummer lambs. I've done it before with cattle. Keep Smiling 😊
Cracking video as always
Thank you
You know when a lamb isn't certain where mama is and runs around all of the ewes? I always wonder if they are repeating the title of the children's book, "Are You My Mother?"
❤️
Hey over 22k subscribers!
lot of problems with singles this year across the UK from all sheep youtubers - warm wet winter with so much grass - better results all round with twins and trips this year - good size lambs and single just massive
That’s interesting! We haven’t
Got many singles … but so far had to lamb / pull half of them
@@DaleFarm Sheep Shepard, Ewetube, Sheep Game, Sheep School - single are being pulls often and many hung and dead - lots of adoptions from the trips onto single ewes that lost their lambs - really hard lambing for all - lots of talk from Cami about keeping his mental health up just so tired and he has 5 more weeks to go with Lizzie (partner) due to have a baby during lambing - you are not alone lambing is hard work
@@DaleFarm Yes - Sheep Game, Sheep School, Ewe Tube, Super Serious Farmer, Sheep Shepard - big lambs, rain, foxes killing lambs, dogs chasing ewes with lambs - it has been very hard lambing for everyone this year and some still have a month to go
IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, THESE THINGS DO HAPPEN AND THEY THEY TAKE PLACE, SO DON'T BLAME YOURSELF. COOK UP A NICE MEATPIE FOR YOU AND NICK AND RELAX. HAVE A REALLY NICE HOT CUP OF TEA. TAKE CARE SENDING LOVE AND HUGS ❤
Thank you so much Glenda ❤️
Your lambs look very healthy,You and nick are doing a great job.Very calm and efficient, good luck with the rest of the lambing.
Thank you so much.
SHEEP Game posted same issues.
As hard as you try you can not save them all ❤
Thank you for that , yes it’s true. X

Hug for Jo please nick 🙏
I get you Blame yourself but you mustn't. You have other sheep to attend to and other stuff going on. Sometimes you just lose some.
With weather this year you've done a fantastic. Just think of the ones you have saved.
Take care both of u 🥰
Thank you so much, yep have to focus on the positives ❤️
The lambs are 🎉 great my dear. Ye can do no more. Its impossible to win them all. Enjoy the sunshine ❤
Thank you , yeah cannot win them all, I forget that !!!!
Hi Joanna,
Glad to see the lambing season is coming along, you have some lovely looking ones. Unfortunately you had a couple of deaths, but that's the way it goes. You will always have the odd one or two. You and Nick give your livestock the best possible care, so don't beat yourself up too badly about it...😃👍🏻
Thank you so much Eddie ❤️
sleep deprived people have mental health issues during the time of stress please remember all the good to help chase the bad away hugsssssssss
Thank you Tammy yes lack of sleep is so bad for our health
lovely
❤️
Yes and it will probably always happen because you're not a tea leaf reader don't spread yourself too thin girl give yourself some credit 👍😁🐝
So frustrating! Sometimes no matter what you do you have some deaths. She could deliver it fine and then lay on it or have it get a head stuck. All part of farming.
Yes that is true , thank you for the perspective
Family Home Entertainment presents Nursery Rhymes (1983)
You have ups and downs, and I'm sure your father had difficulties in his years of farming. But I think you need to take the bad gain valuable experience in bettering what you do the next time Joanna, it's a shit side of life but like a god old saying 'pick yourself up and keep on going. I think most will agree in the comments that you're an excellent sheep farmer , you're in God's country life, and death is just the natural circle of life. ❤
Thank you yes good advice, got to always pick yourself up and keep going
