      @@arklight1670 I guess I’m not serious enough to buy a 210 dollar aluminum shell. I can justify paying more for special small parts like the motherboard and psu. But the reason that the case is expensive is not because of there increased difficulty to manufacture but there niche market. The best entry sff case is the nr200 (yes I understand that this case is still rather large compared to true sff cases). I wish there were more sff cases priced in that range. I would pay a premium but not double the price of your standard mid range case.

      James Lamb Problem is the more boutique those designs get, the more expensive they will get. More shared components across cases leads to overall cheaper designs, not to also mention this is a great addition into the market for ITX cases with ATX PSU support. This is a less niche case than the boutique options, and hopefully (to Phanteks), means they can draw a larger crowd

    • @ShimmeringSword
      @ShimmeringSword 4 года назад +1

      At that point the CPU will be breathing a lot of GPU air, and the GPU will be breathing some of the CPU air. It's largely a zero sum game. Air in, Air out. It's up to the user to decide which parts get the freshest air.
      I think what might be the best option is if you ran a 240 AIO blowing out, with the side fans blowing in, somewhat isolating that air loop. Then you mount two bottom fans blowing into an RTX 3000 series Founders card that also somewhat isolates its air with the blower portion of the design. A rear fan exhausts the rest. Of course running that many fans you'd want to go with Noctuas or it's going to get quite noisy.

    I'm sure this will be successful and people will enjoy it so I'm not trying to take away from that, but for me personally I don't quite understand 'large' ITX cases. That cable management looks pretty interesting. Overall, this case looks very promising. Not looking to do another build any time soon, but I'm liking the vented side panel by the GPU. Sure they have a T.G. option as well, but in this configuration, I could see it being made into a bit of a "sleeper" machine. Sure, you can't "show off" your interior design with the side panel on, but being a smaller case, one could take this to a LAN Party (at some point hopefully), and still impress people. Plus, no need to worry about breaking your glass side panel during transit. The only other possible thing missing would be a handle on the top, aside from that thumb screw that you mentioned. Very nice so far!

  • @fermatt8840
    @fermatt8840 4 года назад

    The problem with the temperatures with this case is exactly the same as the Neo Mini V2, and that has to do with the GPU sitting so low on the case (even if there's a bottom air intake)
    Basically you have to decide whether to cool effectively the CPU or the GPU, but not both at the same time.
    When revving up the front fans the air flow will work against the air that the GPU fans are trying to pull in, and the front fans will win --> GPU temps increases a lot.
    Lowering the front fans speed will facilitate the GPU to get its own fresh air, but at the expense of increasing CPU temps.
    On the Neo Mini V2, the best compromise I found was a slightly negative pressure setup:
    - Front fans at low RPM just to help bring in some fresh air for the CPU air cooler.
    - Good flow rear fan at medium / high rpms

      the Cooler Master nr200 is smaller then this case and can fit a 280mm AIO, its also actually released and potentially cheaper, also the stock thermals are among the best for ITX

    It needs a side panel that is half glass and half fine mesh so you can have the TG for the mobo area and the air intake for the GPU whether its horizontal or vertical

    So about the same size as a nano s but with the psu at the top. I think the main draw is going to be support for 3-slot cards and vertical mounting.

    ITX with 2 USB-A and a USB-C. Sure its more mATX than ITX but I do value the front port selection for quickly plugging in a keyboard and mouse when in a hurry or the space to plug in a USB and xbox controller with future support for what USB-C will bring.
    I loved the NZXT H210, and if it had this I would have definitely gone for it, but I chose the Lian Li TU150 as it did have 2 USB-A and 1 USB-C.

    I prefer either the true SFF mITX myself, but still good to see more and more mainstream companies supporting the form factor. Still think at this size I'd rather do the O11 dynamic mini and have full atx support with sff psu.

    I don't think the GPU temp is impacted that much by heat coming from the radiator, it's probably a matter of pressure setup and fan positioning. The GPU appears to be too low for the front and side fans so they don't cool it directly. With a positive pressure setup, the GPU struggles to draw fresh air from the bottom. Some warm air may even circulate under it for a while since there is no direct airflow from a fan. This problem disappears with a negative pressure setup, but of course that causes the radiator to use warmer air from inside.
    I'm not sure what to think of this case right now, you're supposed to buy it for its performance (not for its footprint for sure) but it's not as great as it should be.

    When will case manufacturers realize that if you angle a surface, you can make the case thinner while still supporting 120mm and 140mm case fans, they'll just be less efficient. My dream case is something with an all vertical orientation like the ml08b but with better cooling capability.

    30L is too large territory. Sliger S620 is 16L, S610 is 13.3, NCASE is 12.7 etc. Generally 15-ish liters is the most I would consider ITX.

  • @ImOnMy116

    seems like for the sake of water cooling, it would be very beneficial if they'd just increase the length slightly to enable you to mount another rad as intake from the right side panel. Then you could very comfortably have a CPU/GPU on the same loop with pretty uncompromising performance. This layout reminds me a lot of the O11 mini, but seemingly with less compatibility (though it is admittedly smaller, 30L vs. 38L).

  • @MichaelChan0308
    @MichaelChan0308 4 года назад

    O11D mini which isn't exactly mini and this ITX case which is 30L lol
    But I can save good money compared with NR200+ SFX PSU. A bit worried about GPU thermal though, maybe 2*120 fan at the bottom would do wonders - would be great if you could test with a standard fan and slim fan for exhaust vs instake for comparison! Great vid for us good people!

    Great case. I'm fan especially of those big ITX cases.
    But that PSU at the top, put it in the bottom. It's just more aesthetic and we get better airflow and also top mounted radiators are more popular than bottom mounted. It may not be possible to mount one the bottom but people tend to experiment with ITX cases more than with others.

  • @nixtc

    AIO should be exhausting air via the side mount and the front intake fans... should be front intake fans. It will also need that back mounted 120mm exhaust fan to pull enough air towards/ over the motherboard. If you want less fans you will need to go air cooling. Too much venting on the sides makes a bad air tunnel.

    I think there SHOULD be some expectation for compromises. Case makers need to move away from supporting atx power supplys for itx cases, that would help with decreasing footprint. Love that itx cases are getting more attention last year and this year looks like its going to get more attention. I do hope they do get smaller tho.

    What I'd like to see is a Fractal Meshify C (original model) shrunken down with no radiator clearance when used with matx (air cool optimised) but can have a top mount rad when installed with an itx mb like with the lian li dynamic mini.
    Would be willing to forgo HD and ATX psu support to get a shorter case

    Interesting case. Shame about the front 280 aio issue with the side fans. Would've also preferred a cutout at the top so the PSU could intake fresh air to keep the fan noise down and help with longevity.
    Hope you get to review the SSUPD. 280 AIO + ATX PSU testing please. 😊

    Wish a case manufacturer would just get rid of the handle in the tu150, have room for two front fans with dust filters. I’m fine with a proper 20-23L no compromises case. Maybe a bigger NR200 that allows for 165mm height air coolers (please test on slightly bigger itx boards like Gigsbytes).

    I really appreciate the full ATX psu inclusion, for me that's what's stopping me from moving to an ITX. $500 for mobo and quality sfx psu, then the case cost...I think i'd rather just spend money on a new gpu waitlist. Downside is that it's huge. I'd love to see a CM NR300 but that can do a 240mm rad on top + atx psu. it'd have to be just a smidge taller and longer, but not by much.

    This has triple slot support however. This one is 29L but the neo mini v2 is ~25L. The glass on the neo looks better IMHO.
