This song saved me from taking my own life, I was going through tough times & listening to new order repeatedly really was the only thing that kept my mind from racing all day. Now that I’m doing better with myself I can still listen to new order & reflect on where I was at & appreciate where I am now. Music is beautiful 🙏🏼
Alex , i just finished a poem about how life can be shit. i play this song when i am down. we have to find beauty and meaning where we can. glad you are still around!!!!
Stay strong brother, music does seem to be the healer, keep the belief and it always lifts you up,old faithful xx
Thanks for being here to share you're story... you never alone
New Order saved alot of lives.. Ian's choice wasn't the best . there is better options out there
Music is special and New Order is even more special and human life is the most special. Try to make the best of it.
That dancing in the dark alone in your room song. Incredible song.
A real privilege
:)
Don't make the song weird, Bobby.

Factory records are the complete package. Beautiful music with an incredible sleeve and cover, now that's what I call real art. New Order (and Joy Division) are one of the best groups ever.
Shite management but I'll go along with that.
They were an incredible indie label. Really something special.
❤❤
Thank you New Order for this Wonderful brilliant Amazing song Age of conset 😊 from a 60 years young Irishman fan 😊❤
In 1983 I was 15 years old when I bought this album. It has carried me through all of those years until now. What an amazing addition to the soundtrack of my life. Masterpiece !!!
You didn't just buy an album, you made an investment
Hundred percent mate. I listen to any new order song years after it was produced and it still brings me to tears.
Try "rufus du sol underwater" random suggestion for anyone
Seems like anyone in your Thread shares a bond. I too was 15 in 1983. Good music, good vibes. Live on...
I was 6 when this came out.
Time is more valuable than money. Tell that person that you wish you could turn back time to be with them a little longer.
These words made me emotional...People come and go but the special ones will always stay with you. In your heart and mind ✨💖
I was -17 when this came out.
My brother and I heard this song in a record store in Tucson Az when it first came out. We became big fans. We saw them twice. I played this song when they lowered his casket. "Lost her I lost her I lost her...." 💔💔
sorry for your loss, you have a special memory.
@Imix Muan it's sad that were all temporary but we can remember good music and times fondly and hope for the best in the future afterlife when we can reconnect with friends and loved ones that passed before us.
So sorry Loren. My brother died at 27 from epilepsy. The only things we had in common were rugby and music. He was not a huge New Order fan but we always danced to Joy Division. He did a good Ian impression in more ways than one. X
My sis passed earlier this month in Tucson and this was one of her favorite bands ever
The bassline and drums are unbelievable. Fucking awesome
no pun intendet
@@petarnikolovski3867 what pun
what pun?
WHAT PUN ??? TO THE I CONCUR ×3.
And the guitar and keyboards are the icing on the cake.
A fantastic song. It elicits emotions. The desire for an old man to dance. But I believe what does that is the vocals. They are real. No pitch correction. Sometimes a little flat or sharp. You know you are listening to a real human being. All done over the fairly rigid super techno music of the song.
The contrast is what makes it human.
AI will not be able to do this. And it won’t understand why it is disliked.
Vinyl makes everything feel better when listening to a favorite band. It's fun pulling the record out of the sleeve and placing it on your player. Love new order! Classic 80s vibes ✌
All right here it goes. Regardless what song, New Order always lifts me up when I am down. They just happen to do that to me. I have been listing to them since early 80s.
Yeah. Movement is pure party.
Same here man, it doesn't come bands like this nomore sadly
Sometimes they bring me down. “Leave me alone” “lonesome tonight” “ceremony” it’s not all sunshine
The song is like a portal into another dimension...
While the youth were digging The Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" in 1983, I was obsessed with this song by New Order.
I love the artwork on the cover of the "Power, Corruption And Lies" LP, "A Basket Of Roses", by French Impressionist painter Henry Fantin Latour, that I ordered a copy from the London Gallery in England in 1989!
I paid about £60.00 English Pounds Sterling and had it professionally framed.
Since the London Gallery didn't sell reproductions of the painting, they actually went into the Gallery and photograped the original painting!
I still own it.
It's hanging on my bedroom wall.
This song is beautiful, for no particular reason it makes me feel nostalgic and sparks different emotions inside myself. Sending love to all of you♥️
The beginning 10 seconds of the vinyl already makes you want to dance
Like it's taking you by the hand saying 'stop feeling down' ! 🙏🎸
Goosebumps every time 😊❤
They weren’t technically perfect but New Order could write absolutely timeless songs. This stuff is pure genius.
To an extent perfection is overrated. The world needs to hear more of "your very best." 🙂 What they recorded is pure bliss. 🥂
You could say the same of the Beatles
Perfection can never be reached.
Only in Plato’s cave, does the reflection of perfection exist
Then they were the band that came closest to reaching perfection
Thank you New Order you saved my life back then and again now 🙋😘
For real ...why I'm here too.
It safe my life too! A couple years ago!
always sounds like the soul that blossomed a little late but when they do it's the most beautiful person you've met and then they're blown by the wind...
New order
Totally agree
2:07 Oh when the lead synth comes in it's just bliss!
While “Ceremony” will forever be my favorite New Order song, this song, like so many New Order songs have been my 3-6 minute therapy ever since my oldest gave me a copy of “Substance” on cassette for my 13th birthday. Music is so personal, that I don’t really like to share it with others, singing along with thousands of strangers to the lyrics that dotted by formative years in a concert hall is transcendental.
I love playing this album at this time of the year, it reminds me so much of when brilliant music was reviewed, treasured and celebrated at the end of the year.... 💫💕
God was in the studio that day
God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost my friend !
Just a pinch of satan 👌🏻
How dare you take Ian Curtis name in vain!
😆
lets not overstate our mediocrity
This is an absolutely incredible album.❤️
Stirs up so many emotions. Fabulous.
Won't you please let me go
These words lie inside they hurt me so
And I'm not the kind that likes to tell you
Just what I want to do
I'm not the kind that needs to tell you
Just what you, want me to
I saw you this morning, I thought that you might like to know
I received your message in full a few days ago
I understood every word that it said
And now that I've actually heard it, you're going to regret
And I'm not the kind that likes to tell you
Just what you want me to
You're not the kind that needs to tell me
About the birds and the bees
Do you find this happens all the time
Crucial point one day becomes a crime
And I'm not the kind that likes to tell you
Just what I want to do
I'm not the kind that needs to tell you
I've lost you, I've lost you
I've lost you, I've lost you
I've lost you
I've lost you, I've lost you
I've lost you, I've lost you
I've lost you
I've lost you, I've lost you
I've lost you, I've lost you
I've lost you
Moving your body in an effort to dance even if you don't know how to is beautiful
Most remarkable album ever! This is where all the beauty in the world finally collides!
This New Order song Age of conset is truly a Masterpiece of music Amazing brilliant from the Amazing brilliant New Order 😀 from a 60 years young Irishman fan 😊
my favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite song
listening to this and remembering my funky 80's moves and the the cool fashion of that time, New Order will always be cool, the best years for music ever was the 80's...thanx for this...
My favorite new order song. Fantastic!
They were all Gods in that studio that day, including of course the recording and mastering crew.
OMG, I scream when I hear this song! It brings me back to my high school days! LOVE IT!
And it's a real, honest, in-the-moment recording, not an AI, cut-and-paste studio job!
A classic even to this day so grateful I grew up in the 80’s and had the joy and experience with so much great music 🎶
Crispy AF. Music for my ears. Thanks
Pure beauty. I was a little kid back then, and a neighbor had the tape and played it loud. We school kids in my garden would dance to it so carelessly, having no idea of lyrics or the band, 'cause this song consents happiness to all extent imaginable. My first encounter to Alternative/ new wave /no wave/ whatever and forever. Saw NO live in LLollapllooza 2014, was in first row and danced like possessed ja ja ja, the singer stared at me at any moment, Age of Consent will happen in your face 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i love it very soothing feels like a new day
Epic, majestic, and sonically masterful hymn to loss.
omg, this brings back so many memories. I had all factory releases, and cassette boxes in the late '80s, was a factory fanatic. sounds as good as ever.
Feeling Serena ❤❤❤
This is the greatest song ever that only uses two chords (D and G for you musical types) :)
Excellent album... i love NEW ORDER
Que instrumental🎸🎹🥁🎤fantástico
Brasil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 Love New Order 🇬🇧
It amazes me how modern it sounds despite being released in 83'
that was what I was thinking back in 1983, wow what a modern sound, and it still is today. Still one of the best albums ever made.
My favorite album of NO.. a masterpiece !
Outstanding.
Pure joy - yes even 35 years later
I would have included this record on the Voyager spacecraft.
Along with a naked sketch of Gillian and Steve, right?
But the voyager went up in the 70s and this album was released in 1983 sooo

i'm hitting this replay for the 5th time in a row.. dam this song is a great one of theirs!
Among my top 10 favorite songs of all time, period.
just in love with this track ,
For some reason this reminds of Joy Division - Love Will tear us apart with the rythym. And I sure that song which takes me back to the old days. 😊
Presentation, Ambience, Song - PURE GENIUS !!!
I cannot imagine New Order in the 80's without Gillian Gilbert. No way!
One of the most emotional live performances ive ever seen was when they did this song for a radio 1 session broadcast on bbc2 - its available on you tube but i think its blocked in the uk now- good job i downloaded the audio - but 4 songs in that session and what a session
Age of Consent. Love Vigilante. Regret. Shell Shock. 4 of my top 5 favorite NO songs.
Oh I love this song … my teenage years
Class...great turntable as well...
Years ago traveling through Europe for the summer I made a dozen mix-tapes. I pretty much couldn't get past this song. Its galloping energy kept me going.
I remember recording this off of the radio.
Wish I could! Have been a fan a long time now though.
New Order одна из моих самых любимых групп❤ их песни просто завораживающие
They’re made well
35 years after❤❤❤
Now 37 yrs...
this song is ahead of its time.
It's now featured in GTA V/Online on The Kult FM
This record came out wen i was 11 foooking superb then n still is
Work of art
This song me provoca bailar y alegría. I fell so free and festive 😍
Just graduated high school and it's the summer before Uni. I frequent a club named U4 in Vienna, and this is played. I remember wishing it would never end... The song, yes, and the summer of '83.
Can’t beat the vinyl sound 👌
The little flairs referencing "Love Will Tear Us Apart" really tell us that with this song we entered a new era of what was Joy Division
Thank you for sharing this inspirational song as well as music video with others!
Never gets old ❤️
Love the old songs by new order
Had this album on cassette only. For some reason, I couldn't find vinyl of it back then. Can only find reissues now.
I do have original Brotherhood, Love Life, and Movement on vinyl. Then I switched to CDs for Substance, Technique etc. should've stuck with vinyl for those though. But CDs were new back then.
Backsound of my youth! Love it. Going to see them in San Francisco Oct. 2022.
80’s Hits
Double bass is so deep on that vinyl
I listened to this song like 20 times frying balls on acid last week. I recommend it.
Bought the album in 1983ish. Still brilliant
A wonderful song and video!
Joy division for life!
awsome
Great bass line
Always. Hook always played like he was lead guitar. It was a great sound and not everybody could pull it off.
By far my favourite N.O. album with Technique in a photo finish.
FUCK this is sooooo ahead of its time. New Order all over really .
Real shame they've fallen out .
Beautiful New Wave Hit!
Bernard Sumner's vocals are such unique, he hasn't a great voice, but match perfect with the sound
IM HERE BECAUSE I HAVE GREAT FUKKIN TASTE IN MUSIC.
🐦 and the 🐝
Thank you so much for sharing beauty into my heart - needed so much in my household and I appreciate it
Oh man that bass intro totally fucking awesome 🔥🔥
Tis a guitar
Does anyone realize this is love will tear us apart part two ? Bassline is played in the exact same spots. Love it
remember when you could dance in a group full of people?
Mark Dugan
Those were the days
Before "isolation " by JD cleared the floor?
I didnt know there was any other way...
I did this for the first time when I was 17 at a in a bar/club called Club 77 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. A night of pure bliss as i danced all night long told they turned on the light and we had to leave
Wonderful guys, I love that you’re repressing New Order, but I think we need a Substance re-issue, I still see plenty of Power, Corruption and Lies albums floating around. But it’s great to see any sort of new order, so I can’t complain 👍
Amazing!!!
I need this!
Very underrated 😭
What a wonderful video! thanks. Greetings from México.
New order is new Order.
I bought this album back in the mid 8os. I stll own it. ❣️
It got me through high school
Need a Substance reissue.
