I see your a coconut lover as I am too. Lots of sweets there & want me to book a flight to go there & eat lol. Thanks for the awesome upload darren, 2 thumbs up & a like & a share & see ya next week my friend :)
Yes, I do love the coconuts! You should book that flight one of these days, I know you'd enjoy it here. Thanks for the thumbs up and share, glad you enjoyed thre video. I'll see you next week 👍🏻👍🏻
I really wait for Wednesday just for your new upload food videos lolzzz... I am going to be in Thailand again next month and surely try all these desserts...I love Kanom krok and Kanom chun...
Hi Darren hope family is going well. You make me so jealous with all those desserts. Most of them looked really tasty. Take care buddy. Greetings from Sydney.
Thanks John, I'm glad you're enjoying them. I have a friend who helps with the camera occasionally, Aorn also does the camera sometimes, but very rarely, probably 95% of the filming is done by me.
Darren another very informative VLOG based on this and other similar videos I have concluded that Thai desserts are mostly food coloring gelatin and some natural flavoring.i would be inclined to stay with all those delicious passion fruits maybe with a waffle or crepe for the ideal dessert. Your son offering you his orange slushy was a nice touch.
Thanks Joe! I believe the colours and flavours are often natural - from fruits, flowers and the like. I'm not overly big on the jellies I've tried thus far, the little jelly tart thing I tried in this video was really good though, but I really love some of the other desserts here, like the rotis, pancakes and puddings, like khanom krok for example.
Hi, i have a video request for you: Buying clothes in Thailand. Especially in the Phuket area i found it quite hard to find testefull and cheap clothes, because most of the stuff you get there are stupid fakes and printed shirts. I found this very frustrating, also the markets in Patong were absolute tourist traps, rediculously overpriced and pushy sellers. Maybe you have a few ideas on where to buy and what to wear in Thailand :) Thanks in advance
Yes, in the tourist areas the shops cater to the tourist market and the choices available and prices reflect this. If you go to the local markets you'll find the types of things that the locals wear. Similarly at the shopping malls you'll find a wide range of clothing stores, as well as lots of choices at the Big C and Tesco Lotus variety stores. Phuket Town is not as touristy as the towns on the west coast of Phuket and there are also plenty of clothing stores there if you walk the streets. I hope that helps.
The first pudding you try the colour yellow is similar of Philippines desserts called Puto. Lots of delicious desserts there is looks very interesting thanks for sharing your video
Yes, they were pretty good! Teacher's wages in Thailand are generally about 25,000 - 33,000 baht for the first year and go up roughly 1,000 - 2,000 baht per year of service, depending on the school.
Thanks Charles. Yes, it is hot here and I do often sweat buckets, I regularly wipe my face between shots. And yes, I am still teaching English. Cheers!
I came to Krabi for a 3 week holiday and loved it. Then I came back 10 weeks later for another 18 days and during that trip I decided that this is where I want to live.
I subscribed and enjoy your VDO so much.Just wonder how do you call ขนมไทย ชนิดหนี่ง made from sticky rice flour wrap shredded caramelised sweetened coconut the size of quail egg ,round ball shape and cover all over by shredded young coconut. They sometimes made in various colours and the flour part is not sweet only sweet from inside part. You have Thai wife may be help with the answer. Thanks Mate.
+darrenb3 Hi Darren, do try this shop if you hv the opportunity. I love love the Dessert rice Taro in the tin tray and have it heat up. Super sweet and goes well with black coffee. www.maekimlai-raisom.com/products/morkang.html
Everything look good, except the fake green artificial color which make the dessert look cheap and low class. what are they thinking usong that color ?

Thanks John, I'm glad you're enjoying them. I have a friend who helps with the camera occasionally, Aorn also does the camera sometimes, but very rarely, probably 95% of the filming is done by me.

Thany you so much for your reply, I'm hoping to be back in Thailand at the end of the year, will check out the Phuket town markets then :) Cheers!
Wish one of these days, those sweet vendors will let you film how they make those yummy Thai desserts. You will be amazed.

yummy!
I only got one small bag of potato chips for 1.44$ at Union Station in Washington DC yesterday. What a difference! Thailand has more life!
Yes, there are lots of food choices here which are both tasty and affordable. Thailand is a great country to eat in!
If we ever decide to leave this country (or just go visiting!)...we would go to Thailand.
Thailand is a good choice!
I love Thai food!!! :D
Me too 👍🏻👍🏻
all the dessert look delicious. By the way, if you don't mind me asking this how much do you make as a teacher in Thailand.
Yes, they were pretty good! Teacher's wages in Thailand are generally about 25,000 - 33,000 baht for the first year and go up roughly 1,000 - 2,000 baht per year of service, depending on the school.
Just found your videos. Im planning for my own trip to Thailand. I wish you would total up how much you spent on everything you purchased.
Darren .. Good videos. I noticed you are always sweaty. Is that due to the heat/humidity or the food?
Thanks. Yes, it is mostly hot and humid where I live.
Hi Darren
Just wondering do you use a microphone when you are doing your videos? Cheers
Sometimes I do, but mostly I just use the camera's microphone. This video was filmed using the camera mic.
Kumusta? Darren... from Adelaide South Australia. Originally from philippines
Kumusta Bonzki Bop ... from Krabi, Thailand. Originally from Adelaide, South Australia :)
10:54 my heart...
Love your videos ! Curious how you do these without sweating buckets. Isn't it hot there ? Are you still teaching English ? Thanks !!!
Thanks Charles. Yes, it is hot here and I do often sweat buckets, I regularly wipe my face between shots. And yes, I am still teaching English. Cheers!
Darren how did you end up living in karbi town of all the possible places in Thailand?
I came to Krabi for a 3 week holiday and loved it. Then I came back 10 weeks later for another 18 days and during that trip I decided that this is where I want to live.
The round balls are called Ondeh Ondeh in Malaysia and Singapore. The filling is palm sugar.
Thanks, that's good to know.
you make me so jealous!
Lol
Love your videos. By the way how tall are you?
Thanks! I'm around 180cm tall.
Lol. Not yet ;)
+darrenb3 Hi Darren, do try this shop if you hv the opportunity. I love love the Dessert rice Taro in the tin tray and have it heat up. Super sweet and goes well with black coffee. www.maekimlai-raisom.com/products/morkang.html
Thanks for the tips. That shop does have a great range of desserts!
Thai food > Western food and Western deserts > Thai desserts. Every dessert has coconut in it and they rarely have a good taste.
:)
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Everything look good, except the fake green artificial color which make the dessert look cheap and low class. what are they thinking usong that color ?
ok. he said the green color were from pandan leave. uhh, I dont think so. It look so artificial and not appetizing at all.
