In the Hobby category i' ve seen it here in Europe very often, ambition outmatches skills.. And no one here got a long swingarm or a drag bar, mostly the race with their allday roadbike...
Use to be at the dragstrip every weekend, my dad and papa drag raced bikes and from my childhood to about 18 id say close to 15 years only seen 2 wrecks in person and one was my dad the bike he normally wouldn't ride it was a street bike flipped back on him at the take off and messed his stomach up really bad. Up at Music City Raceway in Tennessee before that it was Clarksville also some at Beechbend
I been involved in Racing since I was 9, yet I never get it that most will rather loose their vehicle AND the race than ONLY the race. No disrespect to those that had a stuck throttle! Just ease off and try to win the next one….

That’s not how it works on bikes it’s called a whiskey throttle or out of fear. Your body pulls the throttle.
