Lovely to hear from you John. We do love mingling with the locals and immersing ourselves in the local culture, it really helps with learning the language too! Getting there slowly with that though. I agree, the world needs to know about Abruzzo! We love it here!

@@ExploringAbruzzo we’re thinking of buying a holiday home with a view to eventually retiring there in a few years time. I’ve been all over Italy many times but never to Abruzzo, our first time will be in December and we’ve booked again for next June. Have you covered anything on the process of buying a property? It looks terrifying to the uninitiated! Still nothings impossible. Thanks again and we’ll look forward to subsequent videos. Regards, Steve.

@@stevestone4346 Fabulous idea! It can be a terrifying process if you don't know what to expect and also depending on what you are buying but our last purchase in Sulmona (check out our video from Sulmona) was pretty simple. We found the property privately without an agent so managed to save a lot of money by doing so. We have a very good notaio who has done quite a bit of work for us and still is with our big palazzo project (Facebook @thedovetowerabruzzo) and we have an excellent architect/geometra. We've learnt a lot over the years and surprisingly knew more about what to look out for than even one of the bigger agencies here when we were looking for land recently. Nothing is impossible as you say. Clearly look with agents but I'd also advise just calling up private vendors if you find a place you're really set on living in. There are so many 'vendesi' signs all over the place for amazing properties that you won't find on the internet and these will be a lot cheaper too! If you need any help or advice when you are out here give us a shout. Andrew used to run a building and property maintenance company back in the UK for many years so knows what to look out for.

@@ExploringAbruzzo Thank you very much for the info, very interesting. Gonna check out your Sulmona video right now. I have subscribed and rung the bell! We’re coming out to popolli on December the 7th for a week, (dunno what to expect but we both love the snow!) if possible maybe we can meet up. All the best.

@@stevestone4346 Absolutely let's meet up in Popoli. There shouldn't be any snow in Popoli itself as it never really stays for long in the valley but the surrounding areas will definitely have some!
