I’m glad that you decided to continue this PhotoPills series. You explain all the features in a plain and easy too understand way. When the owners of the PhotoPulls App put out videos their always hard to understand. I certainly look forward too more of these. Thank you.
Awesome tutorial. I just showed my wife where the galactic core will be and what it will look like from Haleakala Summit on Maui for 08/11/21. Was able to convince her that the trip up there will be spectacular for the kids as they have never seen the Milky Way. All of your Pills videos are really helpful. Thank you
Thank you great collection of videos learnt more in a few videos then in last 2 years , you explain how to do things so we understand. I have trouble following Rafael and turn the videos off, thank you again for your time
Absolutely great as you make it easy with clear and concise examples. Easy to understand compared to the videos from PhotoPills and I know not their fault. Thank you!!
Superb Brenda - big fan of your work and especially your videos especially the Season 1 - looking forward to each episode in this new season. Learnt so much in the first one. Keep up the great work thanks again
I’m so glad your continuing the Photopills Friday. Your down to earth explanations help us mere mortals understand what the technical smart people have invented.
I can't thank you enough for your videos! Your email alerting me to episode 14 on capturing Perseid Meteor Showers was so timely as we plan to attempt this tonight! AND, I was about to research how to use my Photo Pills app for this venture. Thank you!!
Fantastic video great presentation and very easy to follow, I`ve only just found you on YT, but I`m now going to go back through all your PhotoPills instructional videos from S1 E1. Cheers from the UK. I`ve subscribed as well to make sure I dont miss any more of your videos immediately they come out.
I’ve really enjoyed watching your tutorials Brenda. You deliver the content that is so easy to understand and you give it in great detail without confusing your audience. I saw you had the Sigma 50-500mm lens in one of your videos. I also have this lens although my main lens is now the 500mm PF but I still use the Sigma for nearer focal lengths. One question linked to this video, will the newer versions of iPhone with MagSafe capabilities affect the Photopills compass and AR features?
awesome info...I tried to use Night AR, but was never calibrated so it didn't work as designed - I always thought it was a bug in the program. Also loved your site for the video - the northeast is definitely enjoyable during the summer. I was wondering if you knew what that noise was in the back ground around 7:04 - 7:16? some kind of bug ramps up to a peak and then ramps down? They seem to only come out on hot days!
They sure do -- those are cicadas. They make a racket on the really hot days. They look like big beetles. Apparently, this is a big year for them. Hopefully, it wasn't too distracting!
Yup I tried yesterday. Went down to the bay near my home & did the calibration. It was off a little & after repositioning to align & confirming, it jumped back to where it was. I tried the figure eights the app said but that was moving the screen around with my finger(wrong). I'll try again with moving the phone for the figure 8 thing & if that doesn't help I'll move my i-life case(seems to be all plastic). Thanks for the vids. Helps clear things up.
Hi Brenda, went looking for how to use PhotoPills last week after returning from a trip to shoot the comet and milky way in Glacier National Park. While I was at the Park, I was lost and overwhelmed with the app. Found you on RUclips and your series has answered my questions and and I have actually been able to put what I’ve learned to practice. I have been binge watching your videos and subscribed to your web page. Do you do location workshops? Thanks for the great info
Thanks so much, Jim! I'm so glad that you are now able to navigate around the app and plan some shots. As I said in my email - no in person workshops in 2020, but perhaps in 2021. Thanks!
Hi thanks for taking time to make these videos. Just got the app and love it. We are going to Alaska, do you know if we can use it to find the aurora borealis?
Quick question, If I go to photograph the Milky Way or a moon rise & don.t arrive until after dark & nothing is showing yet( moon, sun, etc.) can the Night AR still be calibrated? Or do I need to get there earlier during the daytime while the sun is still visible?
The only issue I have is that the visual calibration doesn't get saved. Everytime I close/open the AR it get back to the uncalibrated settings. And at night without the moon it is impossible to calibrate and use AR correctly. Maybe I am missing something
Nope - I think you have it right. The main reason we can't save the calibration reliably is because the internal sensors of the phone get easily messed up. So for the best results, it's always good to calibrate first. And you need to be able to see either the sun or moon to do it. Hope that helps!
Mine never calibrates successfully! It reverts back to its off position right after I hit save. I upgraded to a newer iPhone but still the same issue. Please help!
The compass on my photopill app has completely gone haywire. Was working fine but now It shows opposite of each direction like N shows up for S. I don't use any magnetic case. Please help
Every picture I’m taking has the lines around the moon and it looks horrible I just wanted pics of the moon not the circumference and times etc and this app is horrible because I can’t get my money back
This entire PhotoPills series is amazing. Clearly explained concepts and techniques that will help me get the most out of it.
Thank you Brenda! Everything great. Glad you're back!
Thanks so much, Dan!

OK it's good😃 I'll try to apply this using my photo pills app when I'm outdoors.
I'll wait for the next episodes thank you very much!😜👍
You bet, and have fun!
THANK U ., love your videos !!!

For some reason I do not have the photo length button on my app. Will it make a huge difference?
Why Compass button doesn't work on my IOS devices (iphone and ipad)?
Mine never calibrates successfully! It reverts back to its off position right after I hit save. I upgraded to a newer iPhone but still the same issue. Please help!
The compass on my photopill app has completely gone haywire. Was working fine but now It shows opposite of each direction like N shows up for S. I don't use any magnetic case. Please help
My calibration keeps resetting when I click “done”
