What are C.C.'s skills? True she helps Maxwell with his business, but Maxwell himself said that nobody else besides him would ever hire her, and she has said without this job she's nothing, which puts her professional skills into question. She claims to be Maxwell's business partner, but she seems to function more like a security or personal assistant, and even thoughts skills and her effectiveness usually seem to be questionable to mediocre at best. C.C. only puts Fran down because she envious and miserable. 😢

CC does a lot! She was the villain that was beauty and brains. If it weren't for her wicked disposition she was a far better catch than fran. She gets the investors sort of like the PR, she conducts the auditions too choosing the actors for the shows, she does the accounting, the books, and she also puts in money in the production that's why it is called Sheffield-Babcock productions.
Maxwell just meant she cannot be an employee because of her attitude. She has to have her own business just like the company they have put up.
There was an episode maxwell realized how valuable CC is. He was just usually unappreciative, taking advantage of CC's infatuation.
Fortunately CC and Fran do get along during the final seasons and CC found a love in Niles
I just learned that the nanny isn't on max anymore ☹
