I love also camel with green (mainly kelly and forest green) and burgundy. I pair my green trousers with a camel knit and coat with some leopard print shoes..Fab!
I love camel but it's not the most flattering color near my face, so I always make sure to wear white, cream, black, silvery gray, true red, burgundy, emerald green, or sapphire blue with my camel coat in the form of blouses, sweaters (jumpers), or scarves.
I don't suit camel at all. Makes me ill. Even if is only the coat.....so I now like deeper camel tones that lean more to bourbon colour or cognac. They work beautifully with navy, red, white ,cream and black.
I have a fabulous camel coat and I love this video because I have all these colours and items in my wardrobe. I love to dress up and look good. It's so sad that people prefer to just wear sweat pants and trainers all the time. Even when dining out.
Oh Thank you it’s actually the only colour I avoid since I feel it doesn’t suite my skin colour. I feel it’s highlight the yellow tone in my skin and it’s make me look tired and doll . But I will definitely give it another chance since I want to look elegant and chic. Thank you glad that I found you in RUclips
Hello Gemma from the U.S. I can't get enough of your video's. Every time I see a new post I'm like a little kid in the candy store. I Added this along with many others of your video's to my liked library. Thanks again for your wonderful content !!! ❤
These clothes are timeless, I still have a Cosmopolitan fashion magazine and it dates from the seventies. I keep it precisely because it never goes out of "fashion".
This is a wonderful video. Camel is one of my favorite colors. I would never have put blue & camel together, brilliant 👏🏽👏🏽. Thank you for these smart outfit ideas. You look lovely 😍. Cheers 😉🌷
Love when you discuss color combinations. Two other things I enjoy about your channel: no intros and no distracting music. I have a camel coat that leans cool, since I can’t wear warm colors. I often use the scarf trick of wearing a more flattering color near my face, which helps even more. Some of your warm-based models looked terrific in camel sweaters and hats, though!
I really love these videos ... they are great and have given me tons of what to wear from my closet and what I need to buy to make those items come alive.
Hello Gemma - quick note to tell you first that I love your name - and second that I love your content - you are fresh and bright and clear and concise. I learn from every one of your videos and I find inspiration in your content. Blessings to you this day! - Maida
Ditto! Agree with everything you said. So happy my dtr told me about this site. I've always dressed in traditional styles so I can rotate my pieces but you've given me so much more ammunition with your videos. Thank you!
Wow, best 'how to style' in clothes I have seen. To the point and one tip after the other. Not boring. Thank you very much. I am not stuck anymore and look forward to wearing my camel coat which I have not worn for three years. Love your approach.
Thanks for this camel is my new color for this year. I’m adding it to my black and beige capsule from last fall/winter. So elegant and easy to elevate a simple pair of black jeans and a black shell by adding a camel blazer.
Camel is beautiful, and fortunately comes in several different shades with one for everyone. Love it with cream, light grey and black. Loved all of these combos - thank you.
I love when you present these type of videos. You are brilliant in showing how one color can be worn in so many different ways. It gives me such inspiration. I agree, that camel is a sophisticated and elegant choice of color for the autumn/winter season. I like camel and grey.
I love this video. It’s true that camel looks expensive, maybe because it’s neutral and has a quiet presence - something a refined person would be drawn to. Lately, I’ve seen more of the cooler-toned camels in the shops, and these are easier to wear for some of us. I find that pairing camel with white, cream, light blue or grey works well for Soft Summers. And, surprisingly, adding a little bit of the perfect shade of deep red-orange (Pantone 1665 C) really pops.
How do you find out the Pantone number of a colour you wear? That would be SO useful. Navy drives me crazy...the shops often sell purple-navy but I want a dark true navy.
@@WaterAndFire888 Hi, If you’re like me, you don’t want to book an appointment with a colour analyst. What I did was to search on “Seasonal Color Analysis” or “ Seasonal Color Guide” in Google, and read up on the various colour palettes. I studied the palettes I thought might be good for my colouring, held them up to my skin tone, hair colour and eye colour - trying to narrow things down to my very best colours. I grabbed items from my closet, and held them up to me to get more information. I tried on the colours I felt I looked best in, and compared them to the seasonal colour palettes I thought were closest to my colouring. It took time, but I now know what I look best in, and I carry various colour swatches and palettes with me in my phone when I go shopping.
I have a caramel coloured short cardigan from Gap, which I am buying 2 more of. It can be worn over either the same or contrasting colour tank, or a dressier top or on it's own buttoned up with a nice brooch. Yes, it's just light cotton, but when kept steamed it really does look more expensive than it is. It's the colour. I'm a soft autumn and this is my season! I used to be all icy blues but as I've aged my colour changed and now it's beige, brown, lovely olive green, and soft florals :)
Hi Gemma I'm a new viewer, watching you from New Zealand, I'm retired and my lifestyle wardrobe needs to be almost 100% casual, with the very occasional call for smart casual. Can you please do a show about that sort of wardrobe building. I very much enjoy your show and think you're doing a great job.
I'm not a classic dresser; but I completely agree with you on this video. Lately, I'm hunting for a camel colored shoes because I'm brown-skinned, and that would be my neutral. Thanks for sharing.
This video was EXCELLENT full Of amazing ideas things that you probably have in your own wardrobe this video is essential for your go to library thank you
Loved all the examples you showed especially the camel and black or navy. I must get a camel blazer this year, it does wash me out but I have plenty of colorful scarfs to wear with it. Thanks for all the ideas.
All the colors and styles here, are some of my color pallettes and the styles as well. Camel, black, white, gray, navy and brown? Are my colors that I use to switch things up a bit with other colors. And I absolutely LOVE the monochromatic look as well. And blazers are very nice to use when you want to add some contrast or color to an outfit And yes! Scarfs are an absolute MUST, to any outfit. Great video. Thank you. ❤️
Great video. I love all of the suggections. I still need one pair of camel boats to add in my wardrobe. The good ones i found are always expensive. Tomorrow i am going to wear a camel blazer with a black dress underneath and camel loafer. Thank you for your inspiration
Hi Gemma. Would you be able to give some tips on how to be confident in these clothes? I made a big effort over the last 2 years to build a classic wardrobe. I bought some new and some secondhand items. I have most of the basic pieces and I'm really happy with them. But...I still have this lack of confidence that the looks are overwhelming me. I'm used to dressing in cheap high street same-old-same-old and for some weird reason I can't 'own' my new look. You're so confident with your style and I would love to hear how you channel the confidence to step into these more expensive looks. I hope this post makes sense lol. I'm just struggling to 'be' a person who looks expensive. Thank you so much for everything you do. 🙏
I hear you. I grew up wearing the cheapest clothes, not out of choice. My personal advice is fake it til you make it. You will become the person you want to be, but you have to grow into it. And remember, they're just clothes.
Same here and I think that’s because everyone in the US dresses so sloppy so I’m trying to fit in wearing sweats. Every time I go to Europe I naturally wear beautiful classy outfits.
Thank you for this video and all the color combinations - camel does make an outfit look more expensive! I had Zero camel in my closet, until I started watching these fashion videos a few years ago and everybody is mentioning it! So I bought a camel coat, and sweater dress, ankle boots, and a wool scarf. It is the perfect group to mix in with all my black, white and navy blue colors hanging in my closet. K just need another handbag now...
I couldn't agree more! Right now I am desperately looking for some camel layering pieces like cami's or even thinner long sleeves. Usually Zara or H & M has these but no camel out...yet.
Great suggestions! Thank you! I do enjoy wearing my camel colored boots since I'm cool toned and can't wear it near my face. As a replacement, I purchased an oatmeal colored long cardigan that looks better with my coloring and I get compliments wearing it. I think it is so chic with black, denim, or burgundy. This is the time of year to look for these pieces in store.
These are classy looks. Would you be able to do something similar with grey for those of us who favour cool tones? The only camel in my wardrobe is a handbag and a pair of shoes.
This is so true. The type of items shown here are the ones that especially looks exclusive. Red is not my color but will certainly give it a go paired with camel. Now I know why I always admired clothing in this camel color :)
Thank you for taking the time to create such a curated selection of camel beauties for us, Gemma. I am learning a lot from you and your channel, and for that I am very thankful. Subscribed :)
I love your classic look videos, thank you! I do love camel. 1. Could you review camel shades that would work for cool skin tones (winter)? 2. Could you do a video on classic purses that are helpful to have in a capsule wardrobe? Thank you! ~ Classically yours, Sarah 😊
Gemma can you go into more details on mixing the color hues of camel. Warm vs cool when creating a tonal look. Love the color pairing series. Pls continue this series. I’m gaining inspiration. Love that you created this series. Make it all yours
Great ideas! Inspiring, especially sine I’ve moved from the Northeast to Texas and want to get away from ALL BLACK. Thank you for the straightforward information and photo illustrations. Took notes!
I love this season’s lighter camel shade called Caramel. Unfortunately, these yellowish camel colors look terrible with my cool coloring, but I think I could get a coat in caramel and wear it over a cool-white or blue top to break up the yellowish tone near my face.
There are some wonderful style tips in this video and I’m busy making notes for our Autumn next March in Australia. Any additions I need I will be looking for when they come on sale.
I have a gorgeous camel cashmere sweater that I love but it looks ghastly on me. Tying a pretty pink or blue silk scarf around my neck does the trick and allows me to wear the sweater without sapping my face of any life and health.
I haven't seen any cool- toned camel in my size and budget. I wind up wearing mostly black with some jewel-tones. I love these looks on others, I just don't see how to make this color work for myself
If i could have your accent, I’d become instantly classy 😂. Great video and wonderful tips. I actually do have a camel coat and a camel sweater. How I can elevate my stylish using these tips
Gemma, I felt like you had a peek in my closet lol ❤️🤣 I love camel,I’m fortunate enough to have a camel coat and a blazer and pants. I don't think the combinations would be much different. Gray is classic with navy blue, pale blue, red, burgundy, black, and white.
