There are numerous! The last Greg Allman album before he passed "Southern blood" was cut there. It's something! There are many I enjoy that came out of there.

I think you mentioned most of them. A magical studio. That Aretha song just has such a beautiful groove though. It sounds more intimate than the rest of the album to me.
I love just about anything connected to Tom Dowd though.

You can just feel the history in this place. The vibe, the blood, sweat & tears. When you said, “When A Man Loves A Woman,” it was like the spirit of the place came alive.
In a way nostalgia can feel a bit distant & somewhat sad. But there’s something about this place that makes me smile. It’s a combination of complexity, bittersweet, simple, and beauty. Just how the sound of Americana should be.
Thanks Warren! Keep up the good work. Cheers.

@@Producelikeapro As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that my favorite guitarists were always sessions men/women like Reggie Young, Jimmy Johnson, James Burton who wrote and played all the cool guitar parts in all our favorite songs! Same can be said for sessions drummers like earl palmer, Roger Hawkins, AL Jackson Jr. And bassists like Carol Kaye, James Jameson, Chips Moman. In all I like this video cause it you get to learn a lot of the cross pollination that occurred with some of the “Memphis boys” sessions players as well as the “Swampers”. Man even Duane Allman tore it up on the Wilson picket cover of “Hey Jude” THank you for all the great videos Warren!

Here's something a bit silly! When I started singing Sweet Home Alabama in the 80s, I got the lyrics to all the songs I sang by sitting there with a cassette player and pen and paper, and trying to work out what was being sung (Rolling Stones songs were a nightmare!). When I got the line, "Muscle Shoals has the Swampers, I assumed that they were talking about a baseball or football team, as that seemed likely being that they were singing about America! 😁
I'm sure I sang a lot of nonsense back then, and probably still do! 😄

"Chain of Fools" Aretha Franklin. It's my favorite Aretha song. It would have blown peoples' minds back in the 60's that the finest soul musicians on Earth were some white guys from Alabama.
Fun fact-David Hood of The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section is the father of Patterson Hood. Born in Muscle Shoals and founder of The Drive-By Truckers.

Just saw the mic on the wall over the door to the side at 4:00 minute. Ilove the sound of that type of mic, picking sound as a half omni and without phase issues from reflections. I was using a PZM mic in the studio of the technical university of rethymno, where i was studying music technology and acoustics, and i was working as a assistant in the studio for other students to practice and experiment. It sounded great on drums, having them in a big vocal but small for drums booth, on the window in front of the kit, while others plaing in the main room and having only 8 tracks to record, that one mic was the whole drum set with a bit of compression and eq, if it fits the track, but i loved it. Also like this in the video for room, on the seiling over the drums, under a blanket in front of the kick, inside a bass amp etc. I havent use a set up like this for over 15years,but if you like your room, like the sound and have a mic like this, try it.

Awesome video! I've seen a few of them, from IK's promotion, but yours is the most evocative of the actual mood and atmosphere. Room B of this plugin is now my favorite space to wrap around my tracks - but all spaces sound awesome - it's hard to choose among them, but I almost always land on that one. I know you love Sunset Sound more, cause you've worked there, but, to me, this one sounds better. SS IRs seem to have been recorded too gritty, too saturated, this one is smooth and lush - and allows me to freely saturate the resulting dry/wet blend afterwards, as if the room was embedded in the mic capture, before hitting the pre - as it should.
