Let's rename this "The Amazing Women of Appalachia" I know what it takes to make baby quilts, by hand. You have a great color sense too. Nothing prettier on a bed than a homemade quilt. Respectfully, Deb.
Oh my goodness you guys are amazing and so talented 👍 I collect quilts My mamaw and her sisters were quilters Us grandchildren got to chose 2 when grandma passed ❤️😊❤️ I cherish my families quilts an heirloom For sure ❤️ Some of the backing is feed sack with the print of the little gurl on the back I’ve collected them throughout the years and have a nice collection Still looking when I’m out & about 👍 I don’t have any with embroidery Just pillow cases Yours are just lovely ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for sharing I really enjoy this video Best wishes Brenda
Beautiful work. I have always admired quilters, it’s an amazing art form! The green and yellow quilt is the colours of the Ukrainian flag, those poor people! Take care.😊🇨🇦
Terrible terrible situation Thank you so much. We give away most of our quilts so we don’t have all of our favorites. But each one is special in someway
You girls are amazing! Love this 💕 God bless from Australia. I’m late to quilting but I can’t stop. 🤣 The quilts are so “home”. They are beautiful. I have started doing so much more hand work lately, just love it.
You ladies are amazing. Making quilts is an art. My Mom and Mother-in-law both made many quilts. Mom had her quilt in a frame my dad made and it hung from the ceiling, she'd roll it down to quilt, the roll it back up to the ceiling at night. My sisters and I would keep her needles threaded. Wonderful memories. Love your channel, and love you ladies.
I love the fans, the girls in long dresses! Anna quilt is beautiful. I sew my quilts with a machine, but it takes a couple hundred hours because of the pattern or details. One quilt had 1200+, 2.5 inch squares, to fit a Calif King size. Which = a couple hundred hours.
I love all your beautiful quilts! I’ve always wanted to do one of the jar quilts. It is so colorful. I love that you use your embroidery blocks as the centerpiece of your quilts! I haven’t quilted in a while. I’ve been doing cross stitch and crochet. I might have to get my quilting back out. I love all your finished quilts! So inspiring. Thank you!
Beautiful quilts. I really enjoy videos like this. I like seeing the quilts that everyone else has made. Very nice needle work from embroidery to hand quilting, beautiful work.
I’m a 28 year old quilter and have been quilting for about a decade now. This is the first and only place I’ve seen quilting the way I was taught by my grandmother. I even have the same quilt hoop and stand in the video! Thank you for uploading this to show the world the old way to quilt.
You do amazing and beautiful work ! I have not ever seen such intricate work before on a quilt. All of you sweet ladies are very talented. May God continue to bless you and your family.
She’s actually right. The best advice is to just go for it and if you don’t like it, your seam ripper will be right by your side, to make everything better! I like to tell people that sewing isn’t anything but a bunch of straight lines; a bunch of seams , you just smush together. LOL! ❤ It seems to knock a lot of stress off when you look at it that way!
My goodness y'alls quilts are beautiful!! I'd love to make a few for my daughters and my grandbaby that's on the way but I don't think I'd have the patience for it. I reckon I'll stick to crocheting for now. But hopefully one day I'll get brave enough to give er a try!
Thank you ❤️ It does take some patience at first but gets easier after the first couple. Granny and Aunt Cindy crocheted dresses and little things. What do you like to crochet?
I mostly make afghans but I also like to make hats and bags sometimes too ❤ I'm thinking about branching out and making some sweaters or cardigans on towards fall of the year
For quilting we buy handquilting thread from Walmart. Embroidery thread is DMC brand. There is no way of stopping knotting, we have plenty of them. I usually walk away for a minute then come back to it.
Cindy sounds like I’m useing the right thread then, I have also used chap stick to coat my hand quilting thread it helps with the knotting some I was hoping you had a better idea. We have to take the good with the bad, I love your quilting
“The field’s wide open”, omg, that cracked me up, so true!! 😂

How do you keep the thread from knotting and what type of thread do you use
