On the more transparent comparison. Each amp have to run the whole song. I personally prefer Aiyima cos it's more suitable for long listening. It the end its very subjective.Tqvm for the video.
This has been the most diffacult A-B to date. The differences are super subtle. It is essential the same amp surrounded by slightly different parts so implamentation is what is on trial. It is more like listening to the same amp with different EQ settings and deiding what EQ settings you like. I think I like the sound of B a little bit better. It is a little warmer and the mid bass and vocals seem to have a little bit more life like sounds. I think A is cleaner and more clear and a tad brighters but the mids lack warmth again subtle but very real! If one was not hearing them A-B in this sort of setting it would be impossible to tell them apart. Depending on speakers used and any EQ it would be impossible to tell them apart.
Agree with your assessment. I personally preferred the Fosi V3 as well and I was amazed how easy it was to distinguish between the amps in your demo even though I was using my speakers (Magneplanars) instead of headphones.
Nice comparison! Since at least some people showed up on ASR and on YT with with confirmed DOA or dead after few hours Fosi V3 Monos, some uncertainty remains about that design.

Thanks for the demo. Blind tested with AirPod Pro all the way, no difference, can’t tell when the amps are switched. Will be interesting to hear your recording compared with original digital file.
@VirtualHiFi. To you in the room quite possibly, sadly despite your best efforts I still cannot hear any difference this was the same as the opp amp swap vid as well. Great clarity in the reproduction but cannot tell one from the other.
If I don’t see at the video, only hear, I don’t feel any differences… Thank u for this comparison, great work. But I think, this choice isn’t so important for sound, only functions and outside look are important.
@@VirtualHiFi bro check 3e design tpa3255, alot of ppl said its better than fosi , ayima and the others, i think audiophonics still sell the board and finished amp too
To me, i prefferred the wider and more open soundstage on the Fosi, but the Ayima sounded more "real" especially on woodwind instruments. Both very nice sounding, but looking forward to the upcoming video with opamp mods. Are you going to a/b the same amps both with upgraded opamps, or just the Fosi?
Both similar for bass but different for treble and transient. B has a little more extended treble and faster transient. A has a bit more mid range density. Prefer A for my taste. Guessing it’s Fosi 😊
And is it possible from devices from companies such as Topping, Fosi or Aiyima to assemble a sound management system that can handle sound sources such as computer, TV and streamer without rewiring between devices? I'm considering a Yamaha RX-V4A home theater receiver but maybe there is a better solution :)?
Have you consider of testing some cheap chinese tpa3255 boards? It will be interesting how they compare to more branded amplifiers like fosi and aiyima
They are very good. Dynamic yet organic, however on the detailed and analytical side, but for the money if they match your system you'll be very happy ;)
@@VirtualHiFi yeah that’s the thing- I tend to prefer warm & rich… that’s why I went Muses02- I just thought these would have an opener sound stage than the ZA3 with sparkos… Idunno… Are your Qualio more analytical or warm/rich?
Great vid! I have a question for you or anyone else, if you don’t mind… I have two of the V3s driving my speakers and they sound great. I want to get another one to drive my passive subwoofer but after tons of research, I can’t find how to wire it in my scenario. Hope I’m not hijacking the comments, but I’m assuming there’s a lot of knowledge here so I’ll give it a shot… Schitt modi DAC into Schitt magni preamp into a high filter capacitor arrangement terminating in one filtered channel and one non filtered channel. Obviously the separate L and R filtered channel RCAs are feeding my 2 V3s while the other unfiltered channel RCAs are for my passive subwoofer. Question is - how do I wire the L and R RCA outputs to the single RCA input on the V3?
I power a passive subwoofer by using a second output from my preamp to a Rolls subwofer crossover to a Fosi Za3 set in mono mode. The Rolls subwoofer crossover works very well and allows for both sub volume and crossover frequency.
To be honest, I think your previous sound samples with pre-PFFB amps like Fosi V3/Aiyima A07/Fosi ZA3 sounded more naturally alive and less boring than Aiyima A70 mono's and Fosi V3 mono's. For your next video, please include the old ones vs new ones, perhaps with op-amp upgrades..
When I sée this video and hear amp A and B, I was sure that Aiyima was A and I was diapoint cause I bought Fosi V3 mono... But when I Saw that Fosi was A, I 'm happy !!!
I believe it's either or. You can power speaker with it and have a signal going to an active subwoofer. But it you want to power 2 speakers and 1 passive subwoofer you would need 3 amps.
Thanks for the comment. I believe class D will go for mainstream amps and will eradicate all cheap and middle market AB amps. AB and A class amps will remain only at High End market.
I did not listen to all the fragments because my cat's hogging my seat. But I did hear that B is the Aiyima A70 mono's. I also have a pair playing with Sparkos opamps. A sounded thin. B sounded like a big serious amp (that's back in the box for now). A doesn't synergize as well with my speakers. I played LP's over a Chinese EAR834 clone (modified with PiO caps and Philips ECC82) that has an Alps volume pot, straight into the A70 mono's. That was truly magical! Also, they match well with the black Laiv Harmony dac!
Disagree, I would describe amp A as very neutral, very transparent, very high fidelity and sound much more expensive (despite of the look). It's somewhat both very analytical, very details attack (especially bass), very expressive but somehow in an elegant and mellow way of balance. As I'm more familiar with orchestra and metal it's very obvious when the low bass and electric guitar mid/high frequency playing on each other. Where as the amp B is very artificial, though in your room of acoustic, speaker and etc combo it didn't sound as really cheap in the 1st place (pop song and less demanding genre), but soon it reveal itself when more genre played. It's very jazz in term of frequency response, had much more aritificially crossfeed compared to A and very skewed and mellow in term of sound. In the result of that, it's somewhat muddy and dull, had way less details in bass and high, and any genre of songs that had something more than mid frequency it is very artificial. Also the slight overwhelmingly bright and forward sound of amp A, it might have something to do with your acoustice treatment and speaker placement, in some genre it's slight toward that feels (as mid forward and overly punchy), but after listen to what frequency specifically producing that feels i think it's your acoustic treatment and speaker placing. Should consider toe in more, listening in nearer distance or adding some acoustice treatment cause I think it's the echo.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes the Aiyima is way calmer and not offensive at all. While I like liveliness very much, I know many audiophiles are looking for mellowness and can sacrifice really a lot for it ;)
