She did not look like she was struggling or anything during the race as it turned out to be the fastest 400m hurdles race in women's history!

That was basically the perfect race.
I was there. Back straight 4 rows up right near the Pole Vault pit. Had a great view as she came off the first turn and was hitting 14 strides between hurdles on the back stretch and just going for it and just blowing everyone away by the time they got to 200m. There was no waiting for the last 200m. She just put it all out there and kept going and never missed her stride pattern or lost momentum. I was just yelling the whole race. I have never been so pumped up watching a track event in my life. I was actually out of breath when it ended and I wasn't even running!! When the time came up on the trackside clock there was disbelief at first that maybe there had been an error or that the trackside clock was off a bit but the official time came up seconds later and I realized almost immediately that this was the greatest female track and field performance in history ... only Bob Beamon's long jump in 1968 can compare to it. What a night it was. Our host in Eugene wanted to come to see the meet one night so we brought him this night. We picked a good night to bring him.

Bol has improved in leaps since the Olympics, but this just shows how much McLaughlin is in a league of her own. Superb.
Brava, brava, brava!!! Love this exceptionally gifted runner. She admitted hitting the wall well before the finish line but willed herself to reach it. And in so doing, smashed her own world record!!! I think Femke Bol will push her to even greater heights!!!

I guess we will see her again, commenting on how she broke the 400m flat WR. Sydney is the only one who can potentially do that. Hope Femke keeps improving, to make the races with Syndey at least a bit interesting.

In Berlin 2018 European Champion this result would gave bronze medal but... without hurdles!
It would have made the finals of the world championship that year. 7th place time for flat I believe.
Is there a harder event than the 400m hurdles?
The 800 is a close second. I trained with the 400 hurdlers alot. It's a very tough and grueling time but well worth it.
Definitely...the 800 is the toughest race.....have run that many times....crazy lactic build up. Imagine running all out for 2 full ovals around the stadium. Killing! Definitely the toughest track race....without any doubt

Women hurdles height is a joke for 400 as well as a 100.
Patiently waiting for the 100th episode of this where they do a non-american. Though maybe 1000th episode is more realistic :)
