This is fantastic info Bobby! I got in a Tone yesterday and noticed it was a VERY flat top. I wasnt looking for another Salt, I was looking for something between the Salt and the Honey. Maybe this new Salt will fill that gap. Do you have any images of the parting line between the flat Tone and the domey Tone? Curious to see if colors are going to impact stability too....
Living in Oklahoma and Kansas has taught me some tricks when filming in the wind. I have a very nice lav mic on that does great in the wind and I have it clipped in a spot on my hoodie that helps block wind.
This is very disappointing. If those two tones are supposed to be the same, there's a sever quality assurance issue at Clash. So far, the Tone is a no for me. Seems like an attemp at Halo or Orbit plastic. I hope this doesn't turn people off of Clash discs.
I was surprised at the difference in dome as well. These are early run "testers" so we will see if they feedback they get from others influence the production run. Something else to keep in mind. Even with other manufacturers the difference in the runs are either frustrating or sought after. I know people that want certain run of Destroyers due to the difference in the dome. I remember this being the case for the DD Maverick, Felon, and Trespass.
I would say the fact that they're doing so much testing and releasing protos for people to try means they're addressing the QA issues and trying to get consistent flights. Like Bobby said, a lot of people are going to love the differences between these Domey/Flat options.
Doesn’t really seem like an attempt at halo/orbit plastic at all but their own take on the effects of gyro. They talk about torque resistance and accelerating the discs spin on their info page about their tone technology. Halo/orbit isn’t designed for that reason.
MANNNNN. I would LOVE to have a flat pink one like that. So pumped!
I am disappointed no tree hit. I legit hit trees all day every day and that's why I carry all premium plastic discs.
Cool review! Did you put a whoosh SFX on you throw in editing ? That's a funny touch :P
Yeah, ha. Just testing out stuff to keep people attention.

I don't have any images but that is good idea to post some to see what people think.
Can’t wait to get a pink one
Are you sure they are both salts? Thats a huge difference for just the dominess!
Yeah, they are both Salts but way different flights. These are testers so we will have to see what happens in the production run.
I certainly know a certain someone who’d love to rock a dome Tone 👀 (me)
Your mic would be going crazy if you had a 15 mph winds

Can't call the pink one a salt. Needs a new name. Thyme
