K Brand new to sewing (47, last time was home economics in 7th grade; loooong time) - Sister gave me an older machine years ago when they moved. I saw your vid on Sponge Bob potty pads the other day, bought some materials & broke it out. Just finished my sons GP liners 2x5 + loft, 2 potty pads and a tunnel pad. Lots to learn but had a blast. VERY INTERESTED IN YOUR SERIES. Hoping to get more proficient & try out some of what you are doing - really really appreciating handmade things NOT EASY! You are really good at this. Hope you don't mind, but may have a few questions upcoming (will watch more to be sure you didn't cover it so I don't inundate you). I really appreciate that you explain what you are doing & using & the measurements, which I've always been bad at, are EXTREMELY helpful Thank you.

Love your series Brittany ❤ When your sewing your lines for example in 16:50. Are you just visually sewing with no line guides? I feel like if i dont use some sort of chalk my line will be crooked. Any tips?
I do use a guide, the trick is to never look at your needle... Line your edge up to something... I have a ruler on my plate, so I line my edge up to the 1 inch mark, and I keep my edge at that mark, im focusing on lining the edge of my layers to that, im not looking at the needle... As long as your edges are straight you will sew a perfect straight line... Sometimes if its a small item ill eye it because after doing it 100 times its easy.... but for big cage liners I always use my guide... :)
