Man, I’m only about an hour and 15 minutes from there. Glad you had fun rafting and experienced the Royal Gorge, your guide was a lot of fun, I can just imagine how sore you were the next day. I haven’t been to the Gorge in years and years…you kinda take it all for granted living here, it’s great to experience it through a newbies eyes. If you are in the area again you need to check out Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls and either drive up Pikes Peak or take the cog railway up, that way everyone gets to enjoy the views and you aren’t stuck driving the hairpin curves. There is also the Cave of the Winds, it’s been years since I’ve been there too but it was pretty cool. My friends sons and family were just visiting from Florida and they went there and her daughter in law and youngest granddaughter did the swing out over the canyon, I’m not sure I’d be able to do that one. They strap you in a couple of chairs and swing you out off the edge and you drop and swing before the haul you back up. Other great places to go are Estes Park in the northern part of the state, Mt Evans and in the southern part of the state is the Great Sand Dunes National Park. I hope you come back and experience more of Colorado! Now I am going to have to start doing the tourist attractions again.

That was great! It's the only way I'll ever experience a trip like that, even though I live in the mountains of Northern California! I'm just a few miles from the American River Canyon, and it is a major rafting river. This year it's way high and very cold because of the Hugh snowfall. Thanks for sharing!

Oh man, what a fun ride! I'm only 10 minutes into the video but I totally teared up just seeing the mountains next to the road. That's the kind of scenery (mountains, road, and river) that I remember from my many childhood vacations in the Austrian Alps. When you said Kiah and Caleb saw this kind of mountains for the first time, I even remembered the excitement that I would feel, every time the first mountains would show up in the distance. I forgot what that felt like! Thanks for bringing the memory back and thanks for taking all us viewers along for the ride - which I will continue to enjoy now! I'm sure you all had a great time!
The next time you feel like some white water rafting come raft the Chatooga River in north Georgia. It's where they filmed the movie Deliverance. Awesome time.

I was born in Colorado Springs, but I would never go white water rafting! It looks fun and all, but my doctors would kill me. Especially since I just spent 2 months in the hospital and almost died a few times. Anyway I'm recovering at home now with my husband and doing so much better. While the kids are still young but old enough to enjoy it, you really need to plan a vacation thru the Black Hills & Dakota's, Grand Teton's, all the way thru Montana to Yellowstone! You won't regret it and the family will love it!

We were there over 50 years ago, drove over that bridge with it’s gentle sway, and our lil daughter rode on a small train they had near the entrance. Great times there and great memories. Enjoy!
To hear Racheal laugh with pure joy was just worth every minute of that trip. I think it was healing for her heart after the tough journey she had as she journey with her mother through cancer.
My family has done this also. There are so many things to do here in Colorado. I grew up in Ohio and we retired in Colorado because it's so beautiful. Hope you make it a state to continue to explore. So glad you had such a good time on the river. God bless.
