This run was a moment that everyone in the monster truck community was cheering a man that was so underrated in the sport and had never won a championship in the sport EVER, when a legend goes hard still out of the blue it amazes everyone significantly and they deserve that win. You can see in the shots of the drivers from young Ryan Anderson to Jim Khoeler and Scott Hartsock how amazed they are to see a legend like Charlie Pauken go all out kill on a track that was a truck killing monster and the truck staying in one piece, it was truly, a night to remember.
To me, this is my favorite championship run. Only Tom’s runs until 2004 were that good. From there, there were good moments, namely Captain’s Curse’s wheelie in ‘07, but this one takes it for me. It is the most TECHNICALLY perfect run ever. ‘06 had the truck jump, and ‘14 had Leduc’s jump, but this one had it all, big air ending in slap wheelies, and great momentum. It wasn’t as destructive as Charlie’s ‘06 run, but that’s doesn’t matter. There was everything you could want, and there was no backflip ramp to serve and a cliche. My rankings put this at the top, and a tie between Madusa and Scooby Doo at the bottom. For those who think to accuse me of sexism, Madusa’s run was 55 seconds and had 4 moves. Scooby Doo won due to fan voting being a bad system. If you come out early and have one good jump and a backflip or two, you’re gonna win. I’ve seen that at every post 2017 non-finals stadium event I’ve been to. Brianna came out SECOND. Cam went first in 2011 and second or third in 2012 and lasted first for a long time, but that’s because his runs were GOOD. While I’m not overly familiar with post-2013 finals events as I simply have no interest in them, but I’m sure the early-on win scenario still applies.
Charlie earned it. Even though I really didn't want him to win that was an awesome run. Balhan had a great run and in my opinion hes the best driver that has not won a world finals.
Megatdfunny 2 tbh that was the only good thing about that run, he only won because of the front flip. Neil elliott and jim kohler had much better runs that year
+Avgeek_ 101 yes... it is that high. these trucks sit 10 feet or higher. the jumps are taller than the truck. some by a good amount. maybe 15 feet at max. and he was several feet higher than that. unless you flunked out of school. for a several thousand pound truck? thats a lot of air. and its most definitely within the range i specified before. fyi the seats sit even higher than the trucks..... which is easily over 30 feet in some areas from the ground.

I do. I remember
The roar when they used to bring the rv out was so fun and it got even louder when someone smashed through it.
Modern MJ is so freaking boring

Only OGs remember The mercury body style for Monster Mutt!
Agreed
At least the new ones have more expressions
Disagreed
These are supposed to be modeled after real cars and trucks, otherwise this show should be called "Monster Animals"
I love the mercury mutts. I dislike the new 3D body’s. So I agree.
1:19 Most iconic moment

No Cam McQueen Northern Nightmare won in 2012, leaving Jim Koehler in Avenger to win 2011

Up there with World Finals IX Taz Adam Anderson as one of the best freestyles in World Finals history.
People need to put Air Force Afterburners run up there as well
1:20 Still one of the biggest jumps I've ever seen a monster truck make.
Charlie is no joke!!! and I'm pretty sure that was a gravedigger truck, got a little green peaking through!!!
Your rights a grave digger chassis
It was
Yep it was it's the grave digger truck he always drives but he switched of to monster mutt for one year then changed back to grave digger
@@serenity3750 he drove monster mutt in the world finals from 2006-14 and 2016-17
Pause at 2:30 or 2:31
That was at the least 30-40 feet in the air. That is insane by every measure possible
Now it's not, look on a video taken by a fan. It's not that big of air
