- In episode #003 of Korda’s The Thinking Tackle Podcast, Darrell Peck told the story of how his van was set alight on a fishing trip in France, which left him stranded without a passport to get home!
Away from this debacle, Darrell is widely considered to be one of the most successful big carp anglers around today. In fact, in 2017, at just 35 years old, Darrell became the youngest inductee into the “Carp Fishing Hall of Fame”. He was the third person from Korda to be honoured, along with Danny Fairbrass and Damian Clarke.

WOW!! They take carp fishing in France very seriously! Its all catch and release, and the carp care is (as I see on most videos) is really good. Damn calm the hell down, the fish is still in the lake! Just become a better angler? WHY SO SERIOUS! LOL.

While there is is no excuse for setting fire to someone’s van . 6 weeks in the same swim , no doubt a prime swim , is taking the piss , imagine you are French and can only fish weekends and every time you go to fish a carp angler from a different country is in one of the few places in the lake you can access by foot , you go back a month later and the same guy is there ! And he’s fishing at ridiculous range using equipment and bait he hasn’t paid for , then draws attention to the presence of a 60lb fish , which is only going to bring more foreigners onto the water . I understand why someone would get pissed off . I know one thing if the Korda boys were in the best swim on a uk lake for six weeks the locals would be having words and getting paid for it . Assuming he was working .

Darrel you should know better it’s alright for your assistants to call up and book you on anywhere in the world, you can’t fish around where you like banking fish and expect not to upset people, some people spend donkeys years on a quest after one fish and people take pride on they’re lakes making sure they’re secret is kept a secret, many of famous anglers and tried fishing syndicates only to leave with they’re tail between they’re legs and hurt pride, lesson learnt, don’t post pics without doing due diligence

Jealous people I would be shocked if it was a fellow angler but if you're catches are a 50lb and a 60lb carp then it wouldn't surprise me lol a French angler surely 😉
You don’t need a temporary passport just a dingy and a dodgy false accent, the french coastguard will see you safely across to Dover 👍
These guys read into these things way to much. Nothing to do with anglers. This isn’t limited to guys catching fish. I bet the kids who set fire to it didn’t even know who they were! Pointing the finger at locals like he does is only ever a bad thing. It’s not 50 percent of anything without any proof! To be honest just suggesting what he does is only gonna give you a bad name. Your not a film star! Your just another angler fishing a lake. 2 and 2 doesn’t make 5 or whatever number you decide it does just because your given a platform to gob off on
