I'm mexican and my boyfriend is dominican. We love making Caribbean foods. Vaca Frita, Morir Soñando, Dominican spaghetti, and tostones. ❤ alot of our recipes we often make is from you. And I'm thankful to watch your recipes. Thank you so much Chef Zee. Gracias de Texas. ❤🇨🇱
A tip for the shrimp stock. Saute the shrimp shells in a tablespoon of olive oil until they are caramelized then add your water to the water add 3 garlic cloves one stick of cinnamon and 3 ⭐ anise. Your shrimp stock will be so flavorful.
That Asopao looks delicious 😋 my mom used to make an incredible asopao and she also served it with tostones and aguacate and some tabasco for a little spiciness. 🇩🇴🙏🏼🍀💕
I LOVE your videos. My abuela passed away before she could teach me how to cook so videos like there that keep my cerca d mi herencia mean the world to me. Thank you Chef Zee!
Oh yes I am LOVING the vlog style recipes keep them coming . Also my mouth is watering, I need to try your version of this Asopao ! & that’s the beauty of asopao, so versatile. But seriously I want to run to the supermarket for some shrimp and aguacates.

Must try it out! I cook for my boyfriend something sorta like yours except for the sofrito and the squash but I am going to try out your recipe soon especially for Lent Season. Great job!!!!
It's always such a joy to watch you cook!! Thankyou Zee!!! Can you make a video on how to make Dominican style Herring stew with yuca please??Thanx Zee. Take care.Bye!:)
Chef Zee i love this vlog style format. When you show us something new, that you DO NOT have on your channel yet then keep original format. Don't forget to display ingredients in the beginning love that....your amazing, thank you!
Your recipes have changed my whole cooking style, and have made a very happy family! The besttt. Thank you for sharing. Do you think you can make a video for a paella?
Love this recipe! Saw the first one which was quick and to the point but you covered everything. It was great for impatient people like myself.😁 Keep 'em coming 👍
Happy Birthday Mr. Chef Zee!! I am not a sopa person and Asopao is associated with memories of Mami guisando pollo for an Asopao and me thinking we about to have the bandera and finding a soup....I'd be so.maaaaaaad...lol.pero these camarones might convert me... I'll let you know.
This is awesome, after seeing this I think I will make it and take some to my aunt. She is not doing well we had a few scares with her. My mother usually cooks for her and takes her food but she is away for a few months. Think I’ll surprise her and make this since it’s one of her favorite dishes. One question, I remember my mom making asopao de pollo also. Would it be mostly the same steps you took to make the shrimp? Thank you Chef Zee
Yeah!! Big ups to a 2nd video on my FAVVVVVVVV Dominican dish!! Thank you! Great job! And i peeped the moscow mule tostonera! 👀 👀 😂 I use a coffee mug too…

Hi Chef Dee! Luv your show! I live in Miami and got a papaya tree in the back yard and I got lots of papayas. You got any good recipes for papayas for both green and ripe? Thanks
@Chefzeecooks I made ur lentil soup but my daughter is very picky..I can't put aoyama..no kind of bell peppers. I can only put onions. But she loved it! N if u help me with a recipe with chickpeas she'll luv it! She doesn't eat meat...she only eats ground beef..ground chicken ..salmon n ground turkey..please help...ty.
Hey I love all your videos I think a really good topic can be how to plate certain food items because sometimes I don’t know how to play the food and it’s really frustrating
Thanks to your previous asopao video I learned the shrimp stock trick and it has done me justice because like you I don’t like the shrimp too over cooked.
Oye pero the Birthday Boy should have taste tested! 😁 I love this format because your personality shines through. Yes please bake. Could you please make budín the coco? See you next week.
Lol thank you!!! I’m trying something new so it’s great to hear this feedback. I appreciate it. Also… the birthday boy didn’t want to come on camera 🤦🏽♀️
Looks so good! I do have a request for a next video.. I"m looking to eating more protein because of my gastric bypass and I have found a love for tofu however only when I'm out id like to learn how to prepare tofu for our sazon and sofrito like basically not just have tofu in the Thai version that I normally get which can be fatting lol I also would love to learn how to make it in our Dominican ways
It was! I grew cilantro and harvested so that I had some fresh all year round. I preserve them by freezing them in foil packets. Gives me that garden fresh flavor all year round.
Thought I was the only one that hits the pot with the cooking cucharon. I get critized for doing that by a few family members and I am like whatever! Also, you should look into using Dona Gallina sopita. Much much better than Knor and less salt.
I’m so disappointed that the Birthday boy wasn’t there to tell us if he liked it… pls add your husband to your videos… he’s the only only one that can tell us how he likes your meals… plzzzzz!!!
Lol I understand. My husband is extremely private. He prefers to stay behind the camera. I'm hoping that in time he'll make his debut on my channel lol (He's actually not shy at all. Just private 😅) Trust me, I'm convincing him as we speak and showing him this message! Thank you for watching!

“Pa Regala” took me all the way out😭 very much Tia vibes
Thanks to your previous asopao video I learned the shrimp stock trick and it has done me justice because like you I don’t like the shrimp too over cooked.
Got the recipe now I just need the COOKWARE❤❤❤❤
Suggestion here; how about making some fish in coconut sauce. As a kid my grandma in DR used to make it and it was so delicious. 🙏🏼🍀💕

It was! I grew cilantro and harvested so that I had some fresh all year round. I preserve them by freezing them in foil packets. Gives me that garden fresh flavor all year round.

I love how you go back & forth with the languages😂😂
"Pa regála" 😂🇩🇴❤
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
How I miss asopao de camarones
I can see adding mussels. What do you think?
Omfg I was craving this today! I don't even like soup.
👌👌👌
I want to see "Chef Zee Bakes" new segment, perhaps!!!
Sometimes I feel like I'm not a Dominican cause I really dislike asopao .... but your vibe is awesome as always ....
Hi, what is the water-cinnamon-vinegar ration? Does the measurement even matter?
Measurements don’t really matter. I just sure to add at least 1/2 cup of vinegar
Please !!! Updated gardening vlog!!!
Doesn't the chicken bouillon make it taste like chicken?
🥰🥰🥰🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂
What did you say in Spanish at 8:49 ?
Regala means to gift
