In this episode, we will explore Palenque.
Swathed in morning jungle mists and echoing to a dawn chorus of howler monkeys and parrots, the mighty Maya temples of Palenque are deservedly one of the top destinations of Chiapas and one of the best examples of Maya architecture in all of Mexico.
Anciently known as Lakamha (“Big Water”), Palenque was a Maya city that flourished in the 7th century. The Palenque ruins date from ca. 226 BC to ca. AD 799 (thanks Wikipedia) with the discovered area covering 2.5 km² (1 sq mi), but it is estimated that less than 10% of the total area of the city is explored, leaving more than a thousand structures still covered by jungle.

I always felt like I was in another dimension in Palenque. My husband and I could feel it when we walked out of the park on the other side of the main entrance. And because one is Aztec and one is Mayan their energies are very different. Uxmal is also very different and beautiful. Thanks for all your work.

Teotihuacan is not aztec, because it was built centuries before the raise of the aztec and Toltec empires. When the nomad aztecs arrived to the Mexico Valley, they found the Teotihuacan city already abandoned, and so they called Teotihuacan which means in nahuatl etnic lenguage, the place in which tje gods are born, due its huge size an magnificency The Teotihuacan city was built by the unknown people so called teotihuacans by the aztecs.
