  • I spent the better part of five months categorizing my artifacts in what is known as typology. Grouping artifacts into similar physical characteristics.

    I’m in Vermont in the mountains and have been finding tons of tools in the ground I find tiling my garden I found 2 fossilized eggs as well.

    Thanks for showing all the different styles of grinding stones together in one video. It really makes it easier to learn to recognize artifacts this way. Beautiful pieces. I wish the ancient people who used these tools could see how much we appreciate them!

    Some good old fashioned grinding stones. Do you ever find a nice big rock "anvil", and then all around it you can find a bunch of these type stones? I guess that would be a "matate" and the "manos"?

      Actually, there are large boulders along the river that were used by the Native Americans. They have been smoothed and shaped in different ways. Not sure what they were used for?

    I like seeing what you find straight out of the creek as you find them. I think you should still show the content of your treasure hunts, neat to see the finds as they are found!!!
