    Good summary of your Micro mini FLX. I bought my 2108DS FLX back in March. Used it all Summer (about 10 trips) with and without hook ups. I guess I am lucky, I had no battery setting issues. In fact the FLX package is awesome. But like you mentioned, the AC is not designed to run for any length of time on battery. Most of your critiques were of the Micro Mini and not the FLX package. I agree, it’s incredible, especially the TRUMA system. Worth every penny. I had the same back splash issue. It must be a manufacturing assembly line defect. I’d buy one again. Thanks for the run down guys.

      What kind of time can you get out of the ac when on battery?

    Thanks for all the FLX videos. Pretty much how I felt after my first trip with my FLX. Winnie really dropped the ball not making a proper video talking about how to work the system and what to do in certain situations like turn on, turn off, off grid, storage. Thankfully I figured it all out in about 3hrs. I may make my own video to help others. My dealer knew nothing about it but the same stuff everyone else knew. Truma stuff works well for me. Didn't need a manual for that. I think if you are not using the AC, the battery will last quite some time. We used the AC for a few hours one night and still had enough charge for 3 days. If we needed it longer, I'd bring a generator. Bed was my biggest complaint. Already ordered a new one. My Xantrex was set correctly from factory, but the GoPower controller wasn't.

    Agree with the bathroom issues completely. A couple inches would really help but I do understand the additional weight it would add. Thinking about changing out the bathroom sink faucet. Always looks like 5 kids washed in there after use! Thanks for the heads up on the frig shelves. We’ve just done 2 short shake down trips and hadn’t really put a ton in there yet. At least we seem to have the solar settings working now.

    Does the portable inverter/generator recharge the Li battery?

    Thanks for making these videos man. I am seriously considering buying one of these. The closest one to me is a four-hour drive away but I think I'll go look at it next week. In your opinion, do you think adding an external solar panel would do any good at all to help with the AC issues on hot days?

    • @speedbumpmedia9584
      @speedbumpmedia9584  Год назад +1

      It really is a great system but even adding another solar panel won’t be enough to support the AC. It would take quite a bit of panels to produce enough wattage to mitigate the draw from the AC. Plus, solar doesn’t help at night. I may see again if the 1800 running watt generator we have can handle it IF the battery is fully charged.

      @@speedbumpmedia9584 Thanks for the info. I'll just plan on throwing a generator into the mix.

      in our experience with an additional 200w panel from Renogy was that it slowed down the battery drain, but it's not going to compensate for the draw from the AC. A generator in the mix is most definitely a good idea.

    Great video, on the hunt for the FLX, living in Green Bay makes it tough, thought about the non flex version but the Truma system can't be replicated. Are you in Wisconsin as well? Thanks for sharing your experience!

    • @speedbumpmedia9584
      @speedbumpmedia9584  Год назад

      Unfortunately I am left with only visits back home to Wisconsin now. Live elsewhere but at least I’m not in Illinois. 😅
      The FLX, if cost isn’t an issue, is the way to go. Truma does have a retail center and service bay in Indiana where folks can have their rv’s converted but I have no idea about the cost to flip the systems. Not sure if they also have any kind of a trade in credit either for the existing system they remove. They are super helpful though if you call.

    Hello, I"m from Wisconsin and am considering a Hike 100 FLX. Can you tell me where you purchased your trailer? Thanks for the informative videos.

    • @speedbumpmedia9584
      @speedbumpmedia9584  Год назад

      funtimecampers.com. They are in Indy and I know they have the new Hike 100 but but you were the first to mention the Hike FLX. After looking it up, keep in mind you’ll only get 1 200 watt solar panel and that will not provide as much charge as the MM FLX. From our experience, the Hike FLX package will provide even less than the 5 day claim… unless you don’t use the fridge.
      Unless it’s a price, weight, throwing kayaks on it kinda of thing… I’d go for the Micro Minnie FLX for the added space, solar, and tandem axle.

    Could you tell me about the mattress…you mentioned that you might go with a thinner one next year. Did you use it as a Murphy bed this year or just leave it down. Wondering if the thick mattress folded?

    • @speedbumpmedia9584
      @speedbumpmedia9584  Год назад

      We don’t have the Murphy. Fixed RV Queen from Brooklyn Bedding. Don’t know if you’ll find the Murphy replacement as the mattress is actually 2 pieces with angled cuts for the fold. Brooklyn does some customized sizing but don’t know about the angled cut. You would have to stick with the 6” I believe to be able to fold it up.
      We have the 12” from them and it’s fantastic but sits too high and you can’t reach under the side wardrobes.

      @@speedbumpmedia9584 Thanks for the information. Have enjoyed your videos. Wife and I have picked up the non-flx model a couple of weeks ago. First thing that’s gotta go is the mattress.

      Michael, we have the Murphy Bed version and the first thing we did was ditch the mattress. We replaced with a Full size Zinus 8” memory foam mattress and it fits perfectly and is one of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve used. Best part, I got it on clearance from Walmart for $50. The Murphy bed mattress was a two piece with an angle like mentioned before, but the Zinus fits and can compress enough that there are no issues closing the bed and using the couch.

    Our experience with the Domestic fridge is *identical* to yours. The fridge needs to be on the max settings especially if the ambient air temperature is warm. And then, of course, when it's cold at night the fridge (at its max settings) works great. *facepalm*
