  • In recent times we have grown quite a lot of seed and grain grass, and we have grown all of it without using any soil at all. Some call this a hydroponic system. We grow a lot of microgreens from mung beans, soybeans. We also grow grass from wheat seeds, dried corn seeds, and also rice seeds. And apparently a few more.
In this video the lovebirds seem quite enthusiastic about this rice grass. The lovebirds in this video are lovebird personata and fischer's lovebird. These lovebirds are healthy and still lively even though they are more than a year old, some of them are even almost four years old.
To serve rice grains, you can feed the rice grains to lovebirds directly without needing to peel the skin. In my experience, lovebirds eat more rice grains like that, rather than rice grains that have been peeled. You can also feed lovebirds rice grains that have been grown into grass as in this video. For poultry farmers, cattle breeders and some others, growing grain into grass is one way to especially save on feed costs. Grain weighing one kilo can become up to four kilos or even ten kilos after it becomes grass. And according to some people, grain that has become grass contains more nutrients that are good for animals, than when it was still in the form of grain. Well, that's it... However, the consequence is of course that growing grass from seeds takes a lot of time. And in some places with certain natural conditions, grass does not grow well and actually contains lots of fungi and germs which are actually dangerous for animals. That's the short story..

2:09:39 - please get them some place to take a bath, not that deep. That dish is way too deep for them, look at the bird near the wall. When the water isn't deep they like to walk into it.
And thank you for this channel, Sir.
