I'm at teacher, and I can honesty say these experiences change children, they learn about culture, about traveling, they socialise, spend time with their families and most of all have fun, memories for a life time . You never know what's gonna happen, and your not always promised tomorrow. Enjoying life through experiences like this and having fun is so much more important than a month of class, especially considering these kids are so young. It's all about being happy. a school is for teaching lessons and helping with social skills, not another source of parental advice lol. i had a vacation and was gone for 2 weeks and my dean & principal had a fit 😂 my parents simply told them that they were there to teach me the curriculum and had no opinion on what my family does haha! but HAVE FUN IT'S SO AWESOME GUYS & SING LOTS OF SONGS FROM MOANA!

I don't understand the negative comments. You can do homework anytime. You don't always find time to spend a month with your family. Public schools are horrible anyway. You sit in a room like robots for seven hours, as teachers cram copious amount if information into your brains, then expect you to go home and do 3 hours of homework. I can guarantee this trip will be more enriching for Olivia than a months worth of school would be.

We used to do these sort of trips while I was growing up (skipping school included), and it's some of the best things to look back on. Seriously, the kiddos are gonna love it! They'll catch up on any school they missed! Ahh y'all enjoy yourselves!!! :-)

Wow so many salty people on here!! My parents did the exact same thing almost every year. Always took us out 2-3 weeks at a time. Seriously the best experience and I remember every trip. I remember being in London in the 3rd grade and I remember the whole trip! Life moments and experiences matter more then sitting in school for 8 hours. Good for you Bonnie and Joel... all these stupid people who don't know how to keep their nasty and rudeness to them selves. You people should seriously be ashamed of yourself!

My family and I just got back a couple weeks ago from a Hawaiian cruise and it was just breathtakingly beautiful😍 I learned so much more than I expected on that trip of the Hawaiin language and culture! I hope you enjoy your time as a family together it sounds like such an amazing trip!!

Livvi K agree, I will for sure be doing this will my kids or even homeschooling & they will still experience a holiday during a normal school period. It’s a treat for kids. & honestly makes the family closer. I think that trumps that random bits of info school teaches now a days.
