  • Hey Friends!
Excited to share some footage from our Annual Meet this past August at Waushakum Live Steamers! It was quite a busy meet, and I didn't have nearly as much time to film out on the mainline as I thought I would, but here's a peek into what I could capture along the way. One of the highlights of the meet for me was definitely double heading Colt's Van Brocklin #17 and my Van Brocklin #31 pulling a decent sized consist. Apologies for some of the grainy nighttime shots, but I wanted to include as much footage as I could. Such a fun weekend all around, and it was so great seeing everyone enjoy the railroad! Thanks to all who came out to join the fun.
Also, I don't own or claim to own the background music used in this video! This is just a great acoustic banjo groove Steve Martin played for Instagram in the middle of the woods during the Pandemic, I loved it and clipped it in. If ads are running during the video, the money is probably going to Steve Martin, and I'm totally cool with that. LOL :)
Thanks for watching as always! Don't forget to drop a like or comment to let me know what you think, and feel free to subscribe to stay tuned for more live steam videos! Lastly, feel free to follow along on instagram for daily updates from the shop, adventures with my flagship loco NKP #311, and pictures submitted by rail fans and owners all over the country!

Ceremonial Veteran Flag raising, American, Big Boy!? Punchin' tubes, ok some diesel but at least it's the Santa Fe Superchief. Note my pictue, 1966 LA Union with the same train. I'm six years old. Need I say more about me? Meanwhile, Pacific beauties, #17, 0-4-0, #29, nighttime double header #17 & #29!!? Atlantic #31 (I love her), #17 & #31 double header??!! @ 9:50 (wow), Nickle Plate, Milwaukee Road and "...you boys hungry, we got steaks burnin' right over here." I've got LA Live Steamers right next door, but there's jus' sumpin' 'bout 'yall boys operation. Every thing a boy could ask for. Thank you so much for sharing this. God Bless you, and God Bless the United States of America.

My great-grandfather, Joe Stone, had tracks running from his basement machine shop on Pond St. in Ashland, through the wetlands behind his and my grandfather's houses. His tracks were supported by old bed frames. What you've done with your tracks and trains is amazing. Makes me wish I had been closer to him.
    Nice work!

That’s incredible! I believe I’ve heard Joe Stone’s name in the list of old New England Live Steamers home tracks, I know there were a few famous tracks in Ashland over the years. Since the community is a bit larger and more widespread now, it’s a bit easier to find parts and methods of assembly from the internet and other steam clubs (although it’s definitely still not easy… almost every part is custom made to every locomotive). Back then though, it was truly each man left to his own devices to build a railroad out of whatever means possible. Those guys were legends, tons of respect for your Great Grandfather, thanks so much for watching!!
