How there isn’t a Dark Side of The Ring episode about Billy Jack Haynes, I will never know.

Heenan was right as always.
Jim singing, and Brians disgust/agony at said singing, will never cease to be hilarious!
About 15 years ago I was shopping in Gresham Oregon when i heard this guy ranting out in front of the store. I didn't pay too much attention to him, but I noticed that he was a pretty big dude. When I was leaving the store there were a couple cop cars and apparently they were taking him away. One of the people standing out there said it was Billy Jack and that he was a constant problem around the area for his public outbursts.
When Fred Meyers had a store on 82nd and Foster. Billy Jack Haynes was kicked out from the store for being an asshole.

CTE! He's been off his rocker for years. The news said they can't give more info until he's moved from the hospital. There's something more to the story we don't know yet. He's been in the hospital since they "pulled him out of the house"
Yeah, apparently he had been in and out of the emergency room in the weeks leading up to the incident. Potentially for psychiatric stuff, too.
My very uninformed guess is maybe they decided to commit suicide together, and he got cold feet for the second step.
Billy "Jack" Haynes was always something else. I remember learning later he was "Blackblood" in early 90s WCW. He never stayed anywhere. R.I.P. Mrs Billy Haynes
Billy Jack in a shoot interview said he was going to murder Vince McMahon at a arena after he showed up and didn't get on the show
Apparently Bryan Adams ribbed him into showing up.
Billy went to his car, got his gun, and sat in the car like a psychopath waiting.
Vince almost never got to the Attitude era.

Coven. The only band that I can think of that had an album called "Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls" with songs about Black Sabbaths, Pacts with Lucifer, and Wicked Women going to hell and went on to have a song featured on the Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour
Yeah, it's very strange indeed!
Jinx Dawson is still at it. Sounds great too.
I have this album! I picked up a vinyl reissue version!
Oh my god! Corny just referenced One Tin Soldier from Coven. And I got the reference. Unbelievable.
but the singing was absolute horseshit.
too much off key singing.
Coven's recording was actually a cover. The Original Caste did the original recording in 1969. Skeeter Davis also received a Grammy nomination for Best Female Country Vocal for her 1972 version.
@@jamesrawlins735 Yeah. I wonder if Jim knows about Coven's other work. It was all about Satanism, witchcraft and the occult. "One Tin Soldier" was actually only done by their singer, Jinx Dawson, who asked to be credited as Coven instead of her own name.
I’m surprised Brian hasn’t heard of it. I hardly consider myself a music guy, but I’ve heard of the song before. I even knew the twist at the end.
Growing up I was forced to sing the Original Caste song dozens of times in school and grew to hate the song. I get the message, but not my taste in music.
"That's the song!". Jim's singing brings light amongst all the craziness.

Loved Brian's sigh when Jim started singing lmao !!
I've lived in Calgary most of my life. I'm in my 50's and I used to go to the matches every week with my best friend. I saw MANY big name wrestlers debut and/or work their rookie years: Bret, Dyno, Davey Boy, Anvil, Benoit, Owen, Pillman and a ton of future NJPW legends who came to Calgary to learn the North American style: Liger, Hashimoto, Saito, Hase, Kawada, Sasaki, Hirata, Takano, etc. I never saw another wrestler pick up the skills faster than Billy Jack Haynes. He came to Calgary after Dr. D. told him at the Portland Sports Arena "If you wanna learn to be a wrestler fly to Calgary next Friday, come down to the fairgrounds and find Stu Hart". I believe Billy only did a month in the Dungeon - a lot of it under the guidance of Dynamite - and then he was stuck on TV. I was shocked to learn later that Billy only had a month of training. He worked really well. His move-set was super derivative but it was derivative of the right guys. It's like in Billy's mind he was looking at the Stampede roster and thinking to himself "I want to punch like Dynamite. I want to bump from a punch like Duke Myers". He did the slow falling tree back bump after taking a punch exactly like Duke. Better even. He was one of the most impressive rookies I ever saw. And it took him places. When he returned to Portland he was a big territorial star within a year. Nevermind an episode of Dark Side Of The Ring Billy needs an entire MOVIE.
How in the hell did anyone NOT see this coming? The guy has been COMPLETELY UNHINGED FOR YEARS.
He was trying to expose wwe he exposed what happened to Ultimate Warrior

Billy Jack lived his life similar to that.

Yeah…sad stuff. He’s been a damaged man for a long time.
I loved the One Tin Soldier reference, made my day to hear Jim sing it!
This makes the RF Video Conspiracy THeories with Billy Jack very ironic where he goes on a rant about Vince McMahon being a murderer
Or his rant about Austin being a woman beater. Well Billy Jack you’re a woman killer.
One Tin Soldier’s a great song, and a timeless message about the evil some people do in pursuit of money and power.
(Great rendition of it by Corny, here 😂)
It should be the National Anthem for The United States of America.
Interesting fact:
Coven is considered one of the first Occult-based bands that paved the way for the iconography that was part of the basis of Heavy Metal.
And then they totally abandoned the gimmick.
The wife was in her 80s with dementia...Billy is in his 70s...not giving excuses just facts
Jim explaining the plot of One Tin Soldier is the real gold.
I remember the song, "One Tin Soldier".
But, then again, I'm OLD.
You can always count on wrestlers to retire and live happily ever after
Corny's singing has killed my crops.
In the early part of his career, he looked like everything you would want in a Professional Wrestler. He was Huge, Ripped about 6'4 270lbs a real powerhouse. One of the high points of his career was far as I was concerned was Starcade 1985: The Gathering: NWA United States Tag Team Champions Chief Wahoo McDaniel and Billy Jack Haynes vs. The National Tag Team Champions The Minnesota Wrecking Crew Ole and Arn Anderson.
Growing up with Portland Wrestling in the 70's and 80's, I got to see all the greats when they started like Roddy Piper, Matt Borne, The Grappler,Buddy Rose, Dynamite Kid, Curtis Hennig, Buzz Sawyer, Jesse Ventura and so many more. It's really sad to see how Billy Jack's life turned out. Another boyhood hero gone because of his life choices. I met Buddy Rose just before he died. He was the nicest most humble when I told him how he and the wrestlers got me through my parents divorce and to be strong like them. I think it touched him to know he had that impact on a young kid now an adult who was indeed strong. He might have acted a heel but he was a hero to me just like Billy Jack was. It's sad that drugs and other things got him to this point.
Tom Loughlin is grateful somewhere to hear Jim sing the song. Billy Jack movies are killer.
Wow!! I still own on original cassette Coven Witchcraft reaps souls and destroys minds they were actually before Black Sabbath and I believe the bassists name was Oz Ozbourne also.

Billy Jack is 70. His wife was 85. His best friend and neighbor said his wife had severe dementia. Billy fell and broke some ribs. He had to rely on others to care for her. The neighbor also said, they owned a guinea pig that slept with them for years and the Guinea pig recently died, Causing him to go into a deep depression. A very sad story. Dementia is 10x worse on the family than on the patient 😢
Jim should do an album of duets with William Shatner. Minds would be blown.
I remember someone in the comments on one Billy Jack video and they said he should make a comeback as the world's oldest Beatlemaniac. That shit lives ren free in my mind. 😂

I did a quick web search when this started to become an item. Channel 6 in Portland posted a still of the cops cuffing him. As Corny pointed out, longtime area wrestling fans were quick to identify him based solely on that still. The local news was abuzz with the story but provided few if any details. Where Corny got it wrong was describing Lents as a quiet neighborhood. The area in question is across I-205 from the SE 82nd corridor, which is one of the sleazier parts of Portland. If not for the news buzz associated with this being a recent event, my aforementioned web search wouldn't have turned up anything special, as shootings appear to be a common occurrence in Lents.

I actually saw that movie a couple of years ago, it was a little heavy handed with the hippy stuff, but overall not bad, it had it's moments, and the bad guy in that was a classic heel, rich son of a powerful local leader, thinks he can do anything and treat anybody how he wants... and yeah that opening song was very catchy, if not sappy and preachy, but nevertheless ... it's classic hippy cinema, if there is such a thing, combined with an action star badass, interesting combo
