Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or Dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys.
Through this video you will get the complete tour plan of this beautiful Bhutan.
This is the first part of the Bhutan Series Episode in Thimpu,
Day 1:
Reach Hasimara Station, then take a reserve car/ share car/ auto to Jaigaon (Bhutan border).
Then go to the immigration office and complete the immigration process.
Completion of permit procedure take rest at Jaigaon Hotel or you can start journey for thimpu.
The nearest airport is Bagdogra airport .From Bagdogra airpot it takes near about 4-5 hours to reach Phuntsholing by road and you can get taxi from outside the airport. although you can also fly Druck Airways or Bhutan airways and land directly at Paro airport.
At Phuntsholing border you will require a permit to visit Bhutan. The permit does not require any money.
submission of the following documents for immigration -
1) Immigration form (you will get it at immigration office or at any shop near Immigration office)
2) Photocopy of your identity card - Passport/Voter's ID card
3) One passport size photograph
4) Conformed Hotel voucher copy (atleast first night in Thimphu/Paro) or Proof of stay of onward journey .
The office opens at 9:00 am.
Day 2:
After breakfast ready for go to Thimpu local sightseeing,
A) Budhha dedorma
B) Memorial chorten
C) Lady hydra park
D) Museums
E) Craft village
F) Tashico dzong
Night stay at thimpu.
Day 3:
after breakfast ready for go to Thimpu local sightseeing,
A) Monastery
B) Simply Bhutan
C) Library
D) Weekend market
E) Traditional bridge
F) shopping
Night stay at Thimpu. And also Complete the permit procedure for Punakha and Haa vally for next day. You can get your permit for punakha at RGOB office, Thimpu.
Distance & Fair :
Distance between Hasimara to Jaigaon - 14 km :
20-30 minutes approx:
auto- Rs 40/head,
share car- Rs 200/head,
reserved car - Rs 1000.
Distance between NJP to Jaigaon:- 151km :
Reserved car : Rs 2500-3000 , 3 to 4 hours.
Distance between Alipurdwar to Jaigaon- 53 km :
Reserved car : Rs 1500 to 2000, 1- 2 hrs.
Bagdogra to Phuntsholing -167km -,
Reserved car Rs 3000-4000, 4-5 hours
Distance between Phuntsholing to Thimpu -147 km
Rs 270 by bus/head,
Rs 600-800 by Share car per head,
Reserve car Rs 2500-3000
