Good explanation. Just in one place people may get confused is,
Fetch C1 into statement.
Cursor C1 is select id, name from customers---> this statement fetches multiple records.
When we say Fetch command it retrieves data from the current cursor position
initially the cursor is positioned at the begining. after fetching the record cursor goes to 2nd record.
the loop continues till no records found.
Your voice is so sweet ma'am and the topic how you are explaining is also so sweet, like you ma'am, good work, very thankful for your valuable efforts for us..

Really like this
Well explained, made it very easy to understand but one doubt-Can we concat two columns in one variable?
yes we can---
DECLARE
e_id employees.employee_id%TYPE;
e_name employees.first_name%TYPE;
CURSOR E1 IS
SELECT employee_id,
first_name
FROM employees;
BEGIN
open E1 ;
loop
fetch E1 into e_id,e_name;
exit when E1%notfound;
dbms_output.put_line(e_id||' '||concat(e_id,e_name));
end loop;
close E1;
END;
it was good short video on cursor sis keep it up.
can you say how to normalize the column value practically as per space-based

Nice explained. Yes I understand what is cursor but I am not understand Why need to create a cursor is there any live or real time example? Please reply mam i am waiting for reply. Thank you so much mam for creating this important topic video. 🙏🙏
Hi, thank you for your kind words.
Suppose you want to fetch salaries of every employee in a table, if you don't use Cursor, you will have to fetch each row one by one which would be very tedious. Hence we use cursor.
Okey.. understand. Thanks for this quick reply 🙏🙏

dont forget to de-allocate cursor 😊
So basically we use cursor in database to avoid hard parsing for the sql statement tuning. Am i right ?
