Good video! The “banging” is from vortices being shed from the leading edge of the aileron at full deflection. The design max deflection is very near that angle at which this phenomenon occurs. As a result on some RV’s you will feel a slight pulse in the stick.

Thanks for sharing this; it's a nice sample of some valuable information I will need in the not-too-distant future.

I confirm I have the same feeling in the stick when rolling fastly.

You might want to consider rolling at less than Va rather than more if you're using full aileron deflection(as evidenced by getting the aileron buffet that only comes on at full deflection). I've exchanged emails on this subject though, and they are happy for rolls above Va, with the proviso that low or no G is pulled during the roll. Apparently one of the the limiting factors of the airframe are that the wings don't handle the rolling forces well if there is G applied at the same time(I'm not saying you were doing this BTW).

Vasco Carvalho it’s a 180HP with constant speed prop.

@@rogierwesterhuis1580 thank you. Probably is going to be my choice too. What a very nice plane you have there, congratulations.

Thanks Rogier - great vid. Tell me - is the ASI in kts or mph - the digital readout that is? If it's in kts, that thing really boogies!! Tks, Jim.

Next time wear the required chute. You never know who is going to happen across your post. Consider this your verbal counseling under the compliance philosophy. SNAP!
