Rengoku was only 20 when he died but was still one of the strongest characters in the series.
Not really, he's not even in the top 10. But he is #1 in our hearts.
I mean, the demon slayers are at their mid 20s at the oldest, and most of them are teenagers...

Rengoku was such a fine lad with a beautiful heart. Kyojuro trained himself to become a Hashira by learning from the guide book of the Flame Breathing style, a book which only had three volumes. My man went out like a boss and kept his promise, no one else would get hurt!

Really appreciate your comment! This movie delivered in every category. I was honestly stunned at how good it was. I enjoyed every minute. It definitely hit me in the feels and I couldnt hold back my tears either so I can relate to you. Rengoku is that dude! I know people get sad when characters die but for me it connects me to them in such a special way cause it hits hard just like life. He definitely became one of my favorites because he left it all out there and died a true hero. Lastly huge shoutouts to all the voice designers. The Voice acting was SO GOOD in this movie as well as the songs. Animation of course is always great in demon slayer, but the sound design team went to another level this time. - Red

Season 2 was interesting. One anime original episode to lead you into Rengoku, and then Entertainment District Arc. Though everyone can agree that Season 2 really starts with Entrepreneurs District Arc lol.

Fact about Mugen Train Arc:
1) Akaza was just toying with rengoku and he is much stronger than rengoku.
Its like Akaza was just using his 30% strength and power in that battle..
2) Akaza is invincible so no one can actually defeat him...
3) It was akaza's mercy that the fight took that much time otherwise if akaza was serious from the start then akaza would have killed rengoku in secs and in most brutal ways...
4) Kyojuro Rengoku himself is mid -weak level hashira .
So the fate of fight was already decided when akaza first appeared.
It was just akaza's laziness that cause akaza some trouble otherwise the fight would have ended in seconds...

39:10 for context most of the hashira are on average early 20s give or take. And one under 18, wont say who-- i dont remember if they'll explicitly say. Thats also why they were so stubborn prev episode. Our trio 15-16. Hashiras had more years fighting frontline + own traumas like mc
Rengoku is 20. Sad how he calls our trio young buds when hes so young himself. If he had lived, he wouldve truly entered his prime 🔥

I'd just like to point out that catching a punch from Akaza with his bare hands is probably the craziest feat we see from Rengoku even if its not visually impressive. Like its so crazy i can barely believe it. This is a dude who could juggle train cars like fucking Mr. Incredible.
No to mention, he did it with a whole arm in his chest. He was the closest hashira to ever beat Akaza in a 1v1. I feel like most of the other hashira would not do as well against Akaza as Rengoku did in a 1v1. (Which is why Akaza was enjoying the fight so much.) If only there was one more hashira with him in this fight...

No one in this series is cooler than rengoku
the scary thing is that akaza upper moon 3 was just playing around with renkgoku to convert him into demon. If he went all out he would have killed rengoku a lot earlier including tanjiro inosuke and zenitsu (end of series🤣🤣 main character dies) . I am not disrespecting rengoku but its reality.
The only time akaza was seriously scared is when he couldn’t get his arms out at the crack of dawn lol

: rengoku was literally holding akaza (up moon 3) which proves his physical strength. Rengoku marked state + red blade would be close match for akaza but he could only kill akaza if he could access see through world. if Akaza grews his head then rengoku still dies if sun rises in time then He will only win. But his injuries will be fatal I think he will still die.

40:52 Zenitsu is fast, but more in _movement speed_ since thunder breathing focuses on the legs, it's not like his swordplay is fast as a hashira or an upper rank demon at that point in time so he would still be shredded if he tried to intervene in that fight.

Even if Zenitsu is there, even if all of them were fresh, even if they all gang up on Akaza they'd still fail not to mention they'll just get in the way of Rengoku. The power gap is way too large.
Zenitsu wouldn't have been able to do anything either....yes he is fast but wesker than both rengoku and akaza, so he wouldn't be able to do anything cuz speed alone isn't enough

Thats fair, it was pretty hard to edit this. I wanted to prioritize keeping as much of the fights in as I could while keeping the Tanjiro emotional moments. At the end of the day its hard to include more than 50 minutes of the movie. What would you have liked me to keep in?

Actually we are officially up to date with the anime right now in season 4. Its just a process getting the videos edited here for youtube haha. Takes a bit but enjoying season 4 so far - Red
The Mugen Train episodes are much better. Far superior to the movie.
