  • Day 2 on our Disney Very Merrytime cruise on the Disney Wish brought us to Nassau, Bahamas! On Nassau days we always stay on the ship, as crowds are generally lighter and it givs us a chance to explore the ships more. We started our day at Senses Fitness for a workout followed by breakfast at Marceline Market. We purchased a length of cruise pass to the Rainforest Room and enjoyed some relaxation while it was mostly empty. After, we rode the Aquamouse for the first time and did some trivia before dinner at 1923. Mickey and Minnie's Holiday Party normally takes place on deck 11 but since the weather was poor, it was moved to the Grand Hall on deck 3. The show in the Walt Disney Theater was The Little Mermaid and after seeing that, we went to an adults only dance party with Oogie Boogie!

Love your videos. Thanks for always being comprehensive in your coverage and review of a cruise and not compromising quality, access, and all the little nuances that make a cruising experience memorable.

That makes two of us that fell. I took a fall getting off the aquaduck on the dream. They really need to look into installing some mats, or something to prevent further injuries.

Oh no! Yeah they definitely do. I’m sure we weren’t the only two who have had incidents

Oh glad you weren't too hurt falling, that definitely sucks and hopefully they put more grippy things. We never went on the AquaMouse. We did enjoy the Rainforest area Tues-Thurs. I would def get it again or on another ship. This was our first Disney cruise. Ooh wow we were in the Holiday Trivia with you....I see my sis-in-law's ponytail....I got 18 out of 20 also! 19's had it though. I already subscribed to you from some other time, didn't even realize it when you posted in the FB group. Oh we skipped The Little Mermaid and missed the Oogie Boogie Dance Party as we were tired. Great recaps so far!

So sorry you fell after AquaMouse! We always felt the decking material on the ships can be too slippery! We totally agree with your review on The Little Mermaid. I really love Poor Unfortunate Souls, but rest of it feels very rushed.

I was on this sailing and I thought the Little Mermaid was really good, the main issue is they have to adapt to fit the single hour time limit for shows. So they wound up focusing on the leadup to Poor Unfortunate Souls, which is a showstopper, then the show has to hit the gas to reach the end of the story before the hour is up. So there is a lot of rushed plot in that part of the show. The ending is also shifted a little bit from other versions in the way it deals with Ursula being defeated. It does rely on projection mapping and projected scenery for a lot of the show, so there are a lot fewer set pieces on stage that you might expect in a Disney show. I did sit downstairs for the show where I could see the roof projections, which were very cool in the moment where Ariel goes to save Prince Eric. I think that is one of the only moments that this staging really shines in terms of the design being able to transition from under the sea to the storm in a rapid fashion. Most of the issues come from not cutting enough from the early part of the story so that it can be told at the speed it needs to. But most of the key songs are in that section, so that makes it more difficult. I am sorry that I did not get to meet you while we were sailing, but I saw the back of my head at the Victrophonics, so we almost met. I can't wait for the rest of the videos to see what your thoughts were on the rest of the cruise.
