I started really getting into chess 2 months ago and I have learned so much from this series so far. You explain things very clearly and it’s been incredibly helpful. Keep it up!
If you like this one, he has another rating climb video from about a year ago - well worth watching to see Peter Patzer advance from a newb to a Chess God.
I really love when opponent play something and you repeat the move by saying "oooh! KC6!" It clearly shows so many brilliant ideas immediately pops up in your mind while lower rating players like me are thinking about some blundering moves😅. .you really thought us how to think!! THANK YOU!!!
The one thing that surprises me is that none of your opponents abort or take 7 minutes off the clock after the game is basically over. It happens to me all the time
lol it happens to me too. i just turn on some music or come watch one of these videos. He has some from a year ago where he did the ratings climb back then. Sadistic Tushi is also a pretty fun channel to watch, and I 'd love to see a colab between him and Nelson. The inside the minds of the different chess players are always good too.
In 24:50 you could’ve let him take the pawn and move something else. Because if he takes the pawn you can pin his knight to the king with Re1 and he has no what of defending the knight other than with f5 but THEN you play f3 threatening the knight with the pawn and he can’t move it. Clever little trap I found. Respect always bro 🙌🏽
Would love a Haxo/Scotch Gambit, your vids on them got me into playing them! EDIT: wow I commented this before finishing the video and you transposed into Haxo from Guicco Piano. Awesome stuff
Yeah, like with others after the 3 minute mark they start going overdrive talking fast and not showing what they are talking about. Much much prefer your style. Very helpful. Liked and subscribed.

Suggestion in keeping with the video. The general rule is the player that thinks father ahead is the winner. This is well reflected in your video, your opponent is making opportunity moves without any considering options of other permutations. Now we have the extreme other end of the spectrum an active player today, Carlsen. When he does his in game analysis he often demonstrates considering multiple alternative moves and thinks them through, each and every possible alternative, often 5 or more moves deep - and is able to remember them, building alternate play scenarios in his mind. This is why he's so incredibly powerful at blitz and bullet games. And why come the end game he's an unholy terror. He's already played out every possible scenario. The entire point being for
Great video. I like the explanation followed by the run against the clock in your videos. Old mate resigned so we missed the clock race, maybe once your playing people over 1000
At around 33:22 I was thinking already, instead of capturing the meaningless a3-pawn, to proceed with the plan you play right after, just push the h- and g-pawns and mate him. I think that would've been a cleaner approach, unless I'm missing something.
With Busch-Gass you MUST play 2...nf6 to prevent the queen coming in. The odds that White will take the undefended pawn are also much higher, allowing you to play the gambit.
I'm only a 1200 rated player but at 7:30 I would have taken the knight with my knight instead because im getting a trade in which is good to do while ahead, knowing i have his rook won?
Also the knight ends up in the corner to trap the rook which is a very limited place for it.. or if i capture with the queen I lose the knight to their king
I actually found people around 800-900 do that a lot. If they are in a bad position they will just randomly yeet a bishop or knight at your king pawns.
Can you or have you done a video on the stock fish? I always do a review, but I don't know how you are seeing whats the best moves or how to properly read it.
11:13 I feel like this opponent’s downfall is their stubborn insistence on checkmating with the queen on f7. They should’ve figured out that after the first attempt, you weren’t going to fall for this crap. They’re gonna end up losing all their pieces trying to force the one checkmate pattern they know!
This is my favourite youtube channel thank you for the teacing. I like you and love you In this strategy, we close the trade no matter what after the 1min candle ends?🌰
I got two questions. First, how do you recognize possitions where you need to take the time to analyze? Second how do you recognize the enemy threads so quickly? Is that just experience?
At 13:56 you could instead have played the (I think fairly simple) tactic Rxe4, then if white captures back with his pawn, you can grab his rook, and the game is essentially over, or if he doesn't, you've infiltrated, and the game should again be over pretty quickly from that point.
Hi, in the second game, could you have moved bishop to b5 and put the king on check and then cancel the possibility of your opponent castling before playing pawn to d3?
I have a question. You moved queen to f6. Would it have been a good move for white to move Bishop to C4? My thinking was if I then move kight to F7, you take with queen, then I take with Queen and it is checkmate, or am I missing something? This was in the first game.
hey chess vibes @ min 42:18 u didt see yet, that u can take his queen soon, right?just wondering @ 43:11 U Paint all Kinds of scenarios, still Not to Take the queen
