I once had a Michael Kelly branded Schecter-alike that sounded and played wonderfully. Everyone that played it said it was a shame that it was "no-name branded" but I always thought there was something special about that red quilted-maple block of wood.
I have two MK tele style guitars. Show me another guitar with a 10.5-16” compound slab rosewood fretboard for $500. Great platforms and good build quality.
I have two newer ones (tele style) and my friend just got a MK Patriot Decree and everyone who has played them loves them. (I replaced all the pots and switches on mine)
Sounds great, neck inlays look pretty cool, though I'd rather see those just pearl. I've never liked the abalone "bling" on bodies, either inlays or binding, it looks too cheesy to me, like it's trying to fool people into thinking it's a really expensive guitar. I'm also not a fan of those multi-color fade finishes, just pick one, if you want to do a burst finish around that, cool.

These guitars have been well-kept secret for years now!

@@Bierce88 Well buddy, all the ones I have seen and played were quality, as well as being relatively inexpensive. 🤷

I have 2 older MK guitars from 2012 and they are amazing, great quality, the neck is fantastic and they play fast.. the new ones not too sure about.

Great demo Tom!
I see the #Stringjoy Strings on the chair! I've been looking at the Patriot as well as the Forte Port 12. Thanks for the dive!

I have two tele style MKs: one was made in Vietnam and the custom shop one was made in Indonesia
