Love Captain Blood! Great museum however the only AUTHENTICATED pirate treasure to be found is on Cape Cod at the Whydah Pirate Museum dedicated to the Whydah ship (captained by the famous Black Sam Bellamy) that wrecked off the coast of Cape Cod. I went there a few weeks ago and now am in the works of planning to volunteer for one of the archeological projects this November!
Now I can understand why some pirates wore a patch. Either they were hooked by someone or accidentally hooked themselves maybe?......
Pirates actually wore a patch over one eye to keep it adjusted to the darkness, when they had to go below deck, they would move the patch to the other eye, the eye they had covered above deck would be adjusted to the dark and they could see below deck better without waiting for their eyes to adjust.
We've been to St. Augustine several times as my boys were growing up. Always had a good time.

I lived in St Augustine for 13 years, great place to live and I've been to the museum many times.
Wonder why you didn't take a tour of the El Galeon? It's an actual pirate ship that docks there every year with real pirate characters that interact with everyone.
And I was surprised with your tour that you didn't run into any pirate characters, there's usually several walking around in character.
Pirates preferred smaller ships ,they were faster

I've always wondered when they figured out what a pirate's accent actually sounded like. Nobody was around then, so how do we know how they talked? Just like dinosaur sounds, we have no idea what they sounded like!😂😂😂 Arg! Avast ye land lubbers!

I love this place. It actually used to be called Pat Croce's pirate soul museum and it was over in Key West. It wasn't as big and expansive as this one but I'm glad he upgraded the museum!!
Interesting museum. Also like those movies. I think pirates facinate most people. Really liked the school house. They used the dunce cap for a long time. I remember it in use my 1st couple of years in school. Awesome video. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤

Not kidding, my parents loved antiques (just like I do), and they got it for free in the 80's. Two of them, actually.

They moved from Key West, which is a shame... back then the Museum was merched with the Rum Barrel Bar, that went bankrupt since their depart as well.
I find that it’s far easier to pretty much just not be a pirate. Just me maybe, but yeah... no pirate stuff.
That Ron Schneider fact you gave is not 100% accurate. In the original Imagination ride at EPCOT, Dreamfinder was primarily voiced by Chuck McCann. Ron was the first Dreamfinder walkaround character in the park.
Yes... Chuck McCann was the primary voice of Dreamfinder in the attraction. I only did a few bits in the ride, matching Chuck's excellent imitation of Frank Morgan, 'The Wizard of Oz'. (And BTW, Jacob, the name's Schneider... not "Schneiner"! )

We just started rehearsing and getting everyone warmed up so I'm hoping we don't close again but cases started rising in Sevier county so we will see. Would love to have you hear!
