      @@setioryski5961 I wouldn't call it stupid...they wore trousers and button ups while working, they had pleats so they had more room in the thigh area, button ups can be unbuttoned in the heat, and suspenders keep your pants up better than a belt. It wasn't only practical but a sign of respect, and as Tom Ford said so perfectly, "dressing well is a form of good manners".

      No because we mostly traveled in horse and buggy in the 1910s. These clips are just showing early cars back then that barely anyone owned besides the rich.

    My Great Grandmother was born in 1917 and I remember visiting her sometimes whenever I was a little kid and what’s crazy is I’m only 30 years old.

      I'm 18 and my great grandmother was born in 1914. She died in 2010. I remember talking to her on the phone a lot, but because she lived far away I hadn't seen her since I was 4, before I can remember.

      Great grandparents for me. Most of them were born in the late 1890s to 1910s. All of my grandparents were born in the late 1930s and 1940s. My parents were born in the 1960s. I was born in 2001.

      @@drvgxn4719 Well, possibly. But the 20's weren't so bad. It wasn't until the 40's that you had serious risk being an American in those times. The Great Depression was pretty difficult during the 20's but people managed through it AND the Dust Bowl(s) of the 1930's.

      I have a fascination with the Edwardian Era (1901-c. 1914). MY FAIR LADY and MARY POPPINS are some of my favorite films, partly due to the fact that they take place in that period. DOWNTON ABBEY was also a fave, until they moved beyond WWI, after Series 2.

      Society was great and people were really men and women, but the things that were going on back then and the medicine technology, etc back then I'm glad I didn't live in that time because it was hard living in those times. Despite the fact that people back then really came close together in comparison to now

      There were 1.8 billion on the planet in the 1920s. When I was born in 1964 there were 3.2 billion, now we have almost, 7.6 billion. The planet has more than doubled since I was born, sad!

      I don't think so. Chruichill didn't look like that until the 1940s - in the 1910s he was far slimmer and dapper. Google "Churchill siege of Sidney Street" for pictures of him then.

      At a point of time, there wasn’t any traffic laws. I don’t know about this one though.

      Because, the car just came to be in the world and to America twenty years prior to the taping, and people driving them wasn't still that high, so traffic laws weren't really a thing. Because during this time in America, the car was still seen as a tool. As you can see in the video, automobiles were really used for transporting a lot of items at the most. Not compared today with millions needing one just to get from point a to point b.
