I have a fascination with the Edwardian Era (1901-c. 1914). MY FAIR LADY and MARY POPPINS are some of my favorite films, partly due to the fact that they take place in that period. DOWNTON ABBEY was also a fave, until they moved beyond WWI, after Series 2.
Society was great and people were really men and women, but the things that were going on back then and the medicine technology, etc back then I'm glad I didn't live in that time because it was hard living in those times. Despite the fact that people back then really came close together in comparison to now

Because during this time in America, the car was still seen as a tool. As you can see in the video, automobiles were really used for transporting a lot of items at the most. Not compared today with millions needing one just to get from point a to point b.
