    Won't be surprised if we see another blow out. Miami is just lucky they barely won game 2 or this series would've been an embarrassing sweep.

      D wade flopped in game 2 and he got 2 free throws and made both of them if it was never for that flop the score would of been 96-96 and go into Overtime but instead it was 98-96.

    • @cb4allstar4

      it sucks that people are just jumping on the Spurs to root against the Heat. 10 bucks says if Spurs win, people will just celebrate the Heat's loss and won't care about San Antonio when next season starts and then they'll move on to the next team to beat Miami

    • @moisesvirella94

      cb4allstar4 of course that will happen the Miami Heat and LeBron are bad people just look at what they've done. LeBron being the leader. Now we have the chance that they bring their friend carmelo next summer because LeBron showed everyone how easy it is to team up with other stars to win. They will ruined the league.

    Spurs ain't doin nun but proving that last year finals was nothing short of a miracle for the heat...all 3 wins by 15+ ...in the finals...that's crazy

    • @MrJeckel
      @MrJeckel 10 лет назад +11

      Or... the spurs got better (with the addition of patty mills and the intrinsic improvement of kawhi leonard) while the heat got worse (the loss of mike miller combined with the further intrinsic diminishing talents of dwyane wade).
      The heat won last yr's finals in 7 games. Game 6 was lucky (ray allen shot) but the spurs' game 1 win (tony parker's shot over lebron) was lucky too so it was no "fluke" as you say. The heat are worse now than they were last year. The spurs are better now than they were last yr. I don't see why that's such a hard concept to understand.

    • @DaFuture14
      @DaFuture14 10 лет назад +3

      Well look the heat have the "GREATEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE" and before u give me that he has to score 30-40 points per game for them to win bullshit u can't have yo cake and eat it too, you can't, when the heat win, attribute it solely to LBJ and when they lose say he doesn't have help...yes they getting they ass thraxed by the better team... and yes the heat's supporting cast hasn't played great this finals but it was enough to get them to a 4th str8 finals(albeit through probably the easiest road to the finals) ...and are u equating the shot tony parker hit in gm 1 (where they were winning by two BTW) to the meltdown in the final 28 seconds where they led by 5 points???.....I hope not

    • @MrJeckel
      @MrJeckel 10 лет назад

      AJ Collins Where do i start with this comment?
      1. Lebron scoring 30-40 won't do much this series. what the heat have to do is defend which they aren't doing. the heat gave up 57% shooting in game 3 and 59% shooting in game 4. It's not that the heat are only not getting enough offensively but they aren't getting anything defensively either. Lebron is the only heat player that has played some semblance of defense for the heat (when they switch him onto parker and ginobili) but the rest of em? they are letting 3s and paint points convert like mad.
      I never said the heat's wins were solely lebron's doing. heck, game 2 was the doing of bosh, rashard lewis, ray allen as well as lebron james so why did you say that in reply?
      2. They did get to a 4th str8 finals which is great but think about this. the spurs are shooting the best % in the finals in 60 years. this is clearly a diff beast finals wise and is a better team than the 2012-2013 version. the heat are a worse version than the 2012-2013 version which is what i said and explains the rout that is happening right now. the heat got lucky bc the east was pure trash this yr.
      3. I'm not saying the tony parker shot was equally as lucky to the ray allen shot but it was lucky nonetheless. Situation was diff but it was still a lucky shot near the end of the game.
      so... not sure why you flamed on me. you act as if i'm one of the ppl that thought the heat won 2 str8 rings with lebron only. both were team efforts ofc...

      vince3139 But they have go-to scorers that can take advantage of various mismatches to get a bucket or create one for a teammate. Teams that get to this level of offensive execution always have the guys who can go on the block. Even the 7-seconds or less Suns had Amare, Joe Johnson and BORIS DIAW who could play down there. It just doesn't work to that level of brutal efficiency if you have 5 guys running around on the perimeter.

    I find it funny that all of those so-called "experts" that you see on SC breaking down the game fail to mention what Coach has been pointing out for the past few seasons. MIA is NOT a great defensive team and they compound that problem by being too aggressive and getting out of position. There is no wonder why it seems like every possession for the Spurs ends up in what is basically a wide-open shot. MIA can get away playing such risky defense against an average offensive team in IND but the Spurs are the wrong bunch to employ that tactic on. Great job, Coach and here's to you becoming an NBA coach one day because you sure do know a whole lot more about the game of basketball than most NBA coaches.

    What was with Wade? Guy's 32 and he was playing so slowly. This was in the first quarter, guy looked gassed missing those free throws. Tony Parker's 32, Manu Ginobili is 36, Tim Duncan is 38 and they're still playing.
    Is it that Coach Popovich knows how to manage his players better than Spoelstra?

    • @InTecknicolour

      wade is past his prime. all those years of him just slashing through defenses has resulted in chronic leg injuries.

    • @kevinseveneleven
      @kevinseveneleven 10 лет назад +3

      Wade took a huge chunk of the season off so he would be "fresh" for the playoffs. So this is what "fresh" looks like for him. I didn't really watch any of their first round series vs the Bobcats but in the Eastern Semis and ECF Wade was pacing himself really not trying at all on defense. In the Finals when he misses a shot or turns it over he either stands there watching for a few seconds or slowly jogs back on defense. He's just done. His body is crapped out. Everyone's body is different and for Wade he's reached the point where he isn't reliable with starters minutes.

      Man ive been saying this all along. This guy is an absolute dud out there. Zero effort, complains and blames someone else when he turns the ball over, doesnt run back on defense,on offense can't even take his defender 1 on 1 anymore, missed almost all of his shots inside the paint.

    • @InTecknicolour
      @InTecknicolour 10 лет назад +1

      KingRockets
      it's cuz of his legs. i'm convinced that he hasn't really recovered from it, the heat are just rushing him back before it's truly healed.
      all of those years of driving hard into the lane, going knee on knee with other players really hurt his legs.

    • @KingRockets
      @KingRockets 10 лет назад +2

      Kelvin Chan he will never fully recover from it. He will continue to decline year by year. I honestly think he is done...next season he will no longer be an all-star caliber player. Bosh is also past his prime, although a great player, he is way too soft and a terrible defender and rebounder. It's almost like Lebron in his cleveland days again. It will be interesting to see how the off-season works out.

    The Spurs really played their best basketball of the series and maybe the entire playoffs. This was why I said that game 3 was good for the Spurs but was not their best performance. Before the series I predicted it would be 4-1 for the Spurs. On Sunday we'll see if that happens. A few things stuck out to me:
    1. Jeff Van Gundy said, "True confidence comes from successful repetition." I just thought that was a great quote.
    2. Van Gundy and Mark Jackson agreed that San Antonio has pure of heart players. Meaning, part of their success is a result of having 13 players with good character. I think this is often overlooked in basketball. Having just one player who bickers, fights, or complains will bring a team down, whereas guys who high five and pat each other on the back lift a team up. I think it was Brent Barry who said Popovich scouts personnel as well as talent, which is a huge part of what makes him a successful coach.
    3. LeBron was definitely not 100% healthy.
    4. Lack of rebounding came back to bite the Heat.
    5. Dwayne Wade is a very good player but he's a little too cool for my taste. He doesn't show much leadership on the court or on the bench. Just looking at the breakdown I saw instances where he didn't hustle back and played lackadaisical help defense. On the bench I usually see him either just sitting there or talking to LeBron. Not cheering, not enthusiastic, just blah.
    6. The Spurs ran their offense to perfection. They literally RAN their offense. Somewhere in the second half Popovich must have told them to push the ball and sprint through their offensive sets. It was amazing to watch.

    At this point in the series I think Spo should go with his "positionless" lineup with the insertion of Haslem & Battier. Maybe see if you can get some good minutes out of Oden. Douglas provides good intensity while Chalmers is playing terrible. Bosh needs more touches & Wade needs to get plays ran for him to get easy baskets.

  • @TheRelativeUnknown
    @TheRelativeUnknown 10 лет назад +16

    The Heat have a couple of problems that are relatively easy fixes. They are way too overaggressive on defense. Doubling when they don't need to and helping on everyone rather than trusting their one on one defense and scouting. They need to stay home on their man a bit more, especially against SA's ball movement/equal opportunity offense. Second LeBron is not as aggressive at home as he is on the road. He has seemed a bit tentative in the last two games, unlike his first two dominant games in SA. Third Wade has been lackadaisical on both ends of the floor. He has played with no passion or intensity, giving up wide open shots and not running back on defense. I could forgive his horrid offensive output if he would at least try on defense.

    Now that some time has passed, I still think the Spurs offense this year was the best I've ever seen (take my opinion with a grain of salt though, I'm younger than most other basketball aficionados). And, living in San Antonio, I had the benefit of being able to watch them night in and night out go to town on teams instead of waiting for nationally televised games. That being said, I wonder what chance this 2014 Spurs team has against the stacked 1995-96 Bulls team. Think about it, they're matchup nightmares for each other, they're very similar teams with 2 of the top 3 greatest coaches on each squad. That would be a great series.
    Duncan on Rodman, Parker on Harper, Jordan on Green (don't get me wrong, Jordan can NEVER be stopped, but don't count out Danny Green's defense, he's a wiley defender, giving players all sorts of problems, even LeBron), Pippen on Leonard (him and Green would likely switch off for Leonard to guard Jordan in intervals), and Splitter on Longley. I'd love to know how the Bulls defense would guard against the Spurs' impeccable offense, and vice versa.
    I guess what I'm asking is, since I never saw the Bulls play, what chance would the Spurs have against them? Cause this Spurs team is one of the best "teams" to come around in years, and it would be by far the best team the Bulls played against that year.

    • @dave210yt
      @dave210yt 2 года назад

      that's an interesting proposal. I think SA ball movement would confound the Bulls for a game or two but Jordan's individual brilliance would make each game tight. Except for not panicking and not calling a time out after an opponent has a little run, (letting his team figure things out), Phil Jackson has never been a very good X's and O's coach in my opinion. The triangle offense was invented by Tex Winter, and in recent interviews, PJ has tried to say Pop has implanted some "triangle" aspects in his "motion offense" - he can't stop with the baseless cheap shots. Maybe in a few years Artificial Intelligence would be able to construct a watchable match up.

    Can someone tell me how the hell can any team hope to defend an offense like this? It's like Poppovic is playing 2K14 watching from an overhead view and executing the plays himself. Its outstanding. The Spurs are making blind passes and somehow it hits their man every time.

      +OneTrueAce Has the heat ever won a game 7 in anything on the road becuz I got bad memory..And yes.. If thr heat can win against spurs on Sunday then they can pull them out of their groove. The spurs only have to win one game to get a championship.. If the heat win the nba finals which I still believe they can.. It will be the only team to win the finals with a 3-1 deficit... Which will show that the heat want a 3peat and want to defend their titles

    • @SSJChaotic
      @SSJChaotic 10 лет назад +13

      Please stop being delusional. They are down 3-1. When was the last team that came back from this deficit? Face it, Heat can't come back from this especially playing at home where they are playing like 8 year olds. Spurs are not losing 3 straight games... It's basically over

      Different heat team? They better be a fucking different heat team because its going to be a different Spurs team with their momentum as well! Popp is going to have the Spurs play at 120% knowing they have the fucking series and championship AT home and the Heat have no answers to what they do offensively. Either Wade revives to his 2008 form and Bosh reverts to his 2006 form and the Spurs just get jinxed the entire game somehow.

    To me, a worthwhile thing for the Heat to try defensively is to go zone (which I hate btw, but their man-man d ain't cutting it) where they can limit Spurs' PnR game and driving lanes

    Like I always say Coach when Lbj can't front run with refs and 6pt or more lead he plays like a weirdo and disengages early. He stops looking to lead by example and he doesn't take right shoots to get them back into a gm when they down 12+! Meaningful pts in a comeback show how you will the team back. Scoring 13 in 3mins and then stop trying and keep over passing to guys who are looking for you to lift them aint gonna work. He went back to locker cuz he either shit his pants or threw up. Emotions got best of entire heat squad. It aint easy to go to finals 4yrs str8 and still have everything on your side such as health, defense, refs, and dumb luck to get over hump. When refs dont hand gms to them it doesnt matter the level of the op they play different always.

      His knees. Kobe and MJ didnt have any big injuries at age 32, while Wade does. Next season he will be a top 5 player again trust me. But if Carmelo comes to Miami next year, Wade will be done. Carmelo will steal the show and Wade will get less minutes. He also hasn't been getting many minutes lately. Hopefully he has a 2006 flashback in game 5, just like he did last year. If he does not, Miami is done.

    Only Player who does justice to his position on Heat is LeBron but he can't carry a team by himself(remember Cleveland) Heat have a Point guard who can't point or guard, a SG who can't shoot and a PF/C who doesn't have power or defence.

    Coach, what do you suggest should Miami do about their defense? Clearly they lack strength and effort for their current defense. They do not close out the shooters on time and they are so slow on rotations.
    Should they switch to man2man defense or try to play a zone? I think any on those two would give better result.

Sadly let go of Wade, Chalmers, Jones, Oden and Battier. Keep Bosh, Cole, Allen, and the rest. But they need some young legs, and a big guy with Bosh, and possibly play Beasley some more..

    "I think everyone in the press room thought for sure that Lebron was going to come out strong..."
    You make it sound like it was Lebron's fault. The dude had 28 points and 8 rebounds. No one else scored as much as he did and no one in the Heat grabbed as many rebounds. He didn't play enough D, but no one on the team did! If we are pointing fingers, we have to point them at Wade, Bosh and the coaching staff. Spoelstra just stood there most of the time with this "what do I do" look on his face, Wade missed one bad shot after another, and I'm not even sure Bosh was there most of the time. Also, Ray Allen, the best 3 point shooter of all time, played almost 30 minutes and only took 4 threes in a game where they were down by 21!
    There were a hundred things that the Heat did wrong that cost them the game, but Lebron certainly isn't to blame.
