The music video pays tribute to their past music videos. The most exciting/emotional one for the fans is the school bus because it’s a call back to their very first music video. There are 4 vocalists and 3 rappers. They’re very good at fitting 7 members into songs, and from what they have said they decide who sings/raps based on feeling and who fits which part best. They do have solo songs within their group albums along with songs with just the vocalists and others with just the rappers. They sometimes split into subunits. This helps a lot during concerts because everyone gets to take a break from all the dancing/singing. They are amazing performers!

Oh Yet To Come is a meaningful and special song for ARMY (BTS fandom) It's part of Proof anthology album that represents BTS chapter 1 in theirs career. It's also a promise song to fans that it's not the end and we will meet again. Because in S Korea enlistment is mandatory to 2 years. And now each member will start enlisting after finish theirs solo projects. 2 members already did. Meaning it's chapter 2.
Also MV has reference to many older MV. Like theirs debut song No More Dream or Spring Day, Run, Fake Love etc. So it's even more nostalgic.
BTS has 3 rapers and 4 vocals. They all together decide which will have what verse.
To see versatility i would recommend Mic Drop, Fake Love, Save Me, Black Swan, On. Butter Dynamite Boy With Luv more on colorful and pop style.
    For solo work
    RM Wildflower, Still Life
    Agust D Haegeum Amygdala
    Jin The Astronaut. Epiphany
Jhope More or On the Street
    Jimin Like Crazy
    V Singularity
    Jungkook My Time

I love this song but this isn’t the best introduction to BTS because this song was basically a gift to the fans/ a reflection of their 10 year career before they had to enlist in the South Korean army for their mandatory military service. I highly recommend the “Festa 2021 Room Live” it’s a live performance mashup of a few of their songs so you can get a view of how vast and different their discography is. Also don’t forget to turn on the subtitles, they are well-known for their lyricism and have over 900 awards under their belts (plus 5 Grammy nominations, the only Korean group to ever be nominated) because of their amazing music. (the 3rd most awarded artist of all time only behind Michael Jackson & Taylor Swift)

There are copyrights on BTS videos….so if they need to mute or cut to avoid that then they have every right to do so. People need to stop spreading false information about “no copyrights”. You’re only allowed to show a certain percentage of a video or movie….if you go over that amount you will get a copyright claim….and that applies to all BTS content as well.

Dive deep man. They have pop, disco, rock, r&b, rap, edm, Latin pop….they got it all. 3 rappers and 4 singers, but they can all do both. They debuted 2013 and are doing solo stuff right now as they are starting their mandatory military service. Have fun!

I recommend you watch their “RUN BTS dance practice” (2022), Blood, Sweat, and Tears (2016), and Black Swan (2020).
BTS closed “chapter 1” aka “the Youth chapter” of their career as a group and promised more is “Yet To Come” for chapter 2. They aren’t in their teens and early 20s anymore, they’re in their late 20s to early 30s. This song reminisces on their then 9 year career before they announced their break from group activities (they wanted to grow as individual artists before starting their mandatory enlistments in the South Korean military). It’s full of references that you could only recognize if you watched their earliest music videos, knew their discography and lyrics, and understood their intentions for releasing this song.

This song is very special to ARMY and holds a lot of sentimental value.. They dropped it just before announcing that they would be focusing on solo work for a bit as they needed to recoup their creative energy. We later found that the main reason they'd be taking this break was because they'd have to go for mandatory military service. We had our suspicions that that was a big reason behind the break, but it took a few months for it to be announced officially. This song is full of allusions to their past music videos.. The school bus is from their very first MV No More Dream, the giant statue is from Blood, Sweat and Tears, the chairs remind us of Just One Day, the train - HYYH era.. The desert and the sounds of the sea are very significant coz BTS often use it as a metaphor for their trials and how we turned the desert into the sea.. The song serves as a promise that they will return to us as 7 again and that the best moment is yet to come..
What's interesting is, when they announced that they would be taking a break, no one expected that they'd keep us this busy with releases back to back hehe.. Though most of it is solo work, it's beautiful to see how supportive they are of each other. I think of it as an anime time skip: where the characters go their own ways for a couple of years and when they reunite, all of them have powered up to an insane incomprehensible level. We can already see that power up with the guys. The solo work they are putting out now is insane! The maturity, versatility, artistry and talent are out of this world. I really hope you explore it further.
While Dynamite is an absolute bop and gained phenomenal popularity, I would say that it's frustrating that the Western industry tried really hard to only give visibility to Dynamite and Butter which were sung in English, while suppressing the rest of their discography. I would suggest checking out ON kinetic manifesto film or Run BTS live performance.. Blood, Sweat and Tears, Black Swan and Fake Love are all immaculate! I'll shut up now so I don't list every single song from their discography lol..

  • @annelidahl
    @annelidahl Год назад +5

I wouldn't do Dynamite yet (unless you're into bubblegum disco) . ON (kinetic manifesto) is a better choice, I think. More of a contrast to what you just saw but more in line with Jimin's Set me Free Pt 2...

loved the reaction!! first please do not choose dynamite next choose the song Rain. it doesnt have a music video so use a color coded lyric video. the songs with music videos are great but the songs without music videos are their best. they are a 3 rapper 4 singer group they choose who does what part because theyre the ones who write the lyrics and often produce the songs themselves too. they are not a kpop group or even a pop group they do ALL genres. their main genre is hip hop. as you can see they have variety. all 7 members have successful solo careers while still being in the group they dont work the same way as western boybands. theres no jealousy or ego and they have complete creative control and opportunity to do music solo while doing group music so everyones happy. the music is based on their lives, feelings, experiences, opinions etc about mental health, social issues, self love, politics etc the list goes on they have the occasional love song but its not the majority in their music. lyrics are one of if not the main reason bts are big. most fans genuinely care about the music which is why the fans are also majority adults not teens or kids.
please keep reacting to them but dont consider them a boyband or unserious artists theyre very serious about their craft and it shows when you pay attention to what they say in the songs. the video you reacted to has a lot of symbolism all the things you pointed out like the clothes, the car, the statue, the bus etc are from their past music videos. this was the end of their first chapter as theyre all going to mandatory military now and when they come back theyll be a group again but things will be different. they wanna grow with their music which theyve done since the start but thats why yet to come was the closing of their first chapter first 10 years as bts. youll see all the references eventually if you continue to this journey. :)

BTS are still together as a total group of 7. Right now the members are serving their mandatory military enlistment (which is something every Korean man has to do) so they went on a hiatus and started releasing their solo albums (like Set Me Free by Jimin which you guys watched). They plan to come back together in 2025 when they all finished serving. So far 2 members have already left ( Jin and Jhope), it would be cool if you could react to their solo albums as well as their group music.

You've just stepped into the world of the greatest male group in the world. They are a very versatile group with a vast discography of over 300+ songs in the span of 10 years, of both group and solo projects. Unlike most other groups, all the members of BTS has solo projects and many of them has collab projects with other celebrities as well which is also very good. I don't know what kind of music you're both into but for your information, the songs Dynamite, Butter, and Permission To Dance are the only all English songs BTS did during the pandemic to cheer people up for the worldwide audience to easily sing along and be happier. I love these songs but compared to a lot of the gems in their Korean discography, they are not the best representation of their talent or productions. You have to listen to more than several to start to realize how versatile they are and the deeper you go down that immense rabbit hole the better you'll understand their music and why they are considered the greatest by the vast ARMY around the world. They don't write and make music for popularity sake. They write a lot of meaningful lyrics with great productions that impact and resonates with people globally. Just let the ARMY know what kind of music you're more into and enjoy the ride. ARMY will be more than happy to guide you. Hope you don't get overwhelmed with the enthusiastic global ARMY. Hope you have a fun ride and look forward to more BTS!

Thank you for reacting! This is a very important song to BTS and ARMYs, as it is a call back to past music and videos from the prior 10 years. But, maybe not the best intro video someone new to their music :) They do songs with all 7 members, songs with just the rapline (3), just the vocal line (4), and various other groupings between the rappers and vocalists. I think you might like ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film, Mic Drop, Fake Love, and Blood Sweat and Tears. Those showcase their dancing as well, which I think you'll enjoy. They did Born Singer (a cover of Born Sinner by J Cole with his permission), and the song Hip Hop Phile pays homage to their musical inspirations. (BTS started as a hip hop group, but really do all genres now) The two of you have a fun relationship, and I like the little info bars that show up. Being able to differentiate the members can take a while, so we get it as we have all been there! Hair length is one thing; just wait until they go to different colors if you watch past MVs. Suga was also learning to produce beats back then and before he was part of BTS he was selling his Beats. There are 4 Vocalist in BTS and don't be suprised if one of them also adds to the Rap line occassionally.
All 7 members are also solo artists and they are all Full Members of the South Korean Copyright Association which is very hard to achieve.

First of all, gentlemen, thank you. Thank you for reacting to our guys and being respectful. It's all we ask.
Second, this may not have been the best song to start out on. Yet To Come was made for the fans. Every symbol, prop, and clothes was a walk down memory lane for ARMY. Everything in the video had something to do with other videos they had already done. Not to mention, this video was filmed about 45 minutes outside of Las Vegas, when they were here for their last American concerts for a while. All the members have to do mandatory military service for at least 18 months before their 30th birthday. Currently, two are already in, and the other 5 are following soon.
As for the size of the group, to tell you the truth, in Korea, as well as Japan, and China, hell the whole of eastern Asia, 7 members is an average size for a group. And don't get me wrong, there is J pop (Japan) and C pop (China) as well as other countries. But it is K pop (Korea) that has a hold on the west. Each group (both male and female) the average size is 7, but there are others that are smaller, like Mamamoo or Blackpink (female), that have 4 members. And others that have more like Twice (also female) they have 9 members. Or Girls Generation that at one point had 12 members. As for the male side, get ready.. There are groups with 4 or 5 members like Shinee or TVXQ, MCMD, but for the majority of them, it 7 members or more...examples
    1. EXO-orginally had 12 members from 2 different countries (Korea and China)
    2. Seventeen-orginally, prior to debut had 17 members, 4 left, and now there are 13 members. Their motto is 13 member+3 sub groups+1 whole group=Seventeen.
    2. NCT-There is a total of 21 members currently, with the possibility of adding up to 5 more. There are 4 subgroups to this group. Their names are NCT127, NCTU, NCTDream, and WayV (Chinese unit). And they are adding on a 5th unit. More than likely, NCTTokyo. And believe it or not, the biggest group is from Japan called AB48 (I may be incorrect on the name), but there are 99 members. They all don't sing on the same song but use different members for different songs.
The point, gentlemen, is that BTS, and there being 7 members, is quite average in the world of k pop.
    As for BTS, their popularity goes beyond anything I've ever seen. As for music, gentlemen they have done so many collabs with Western artists, some ppl don't believe it... Here's a small list;
    1. Steve Aoki
    2. Halsey
    3. Megan the Stallion
    4. Juice Wrld
    5. Benny Blanco
    6. Snoop Dogg
    7. Warren G.
    8. Lil Nas X (only for the Grammys)
    9. Coldplay
    10. Charlie Puth
    11. Muni Long (Jimin was involved in the theme for Fast X)
    12. J. Cole (this was a solo with one member, J Hope)
of these are with the group itself, but several are solo projects. And keep in mind, this is just a few western artists they have worked with...they have also worked with incredible producers and writers. However please keep in mind they write and produce their own music as well as others.
Do yourself a favor. Please check out some of there other songs and a guide so you can get know the guys and why they have such a strong fanbase.
Good luck. I can't wait to see more BTS reactions.
I apologize for such a long post, just wanted to give you info that might help u understand, I know many more ARMY will do the same. Oh and BTW, I am not some 15 y.o. girl who geeks out at BTS. although there are great younger fans for the group, you will find there a lot of ppl my age, I am 50 y.o. woman from Vegas. Please don't be surprised when u come across many more of me.

This MV has very emotional value for ARMY and BTS the props you see are references to their previous MVs they are currently joining military and releasing solo albums, breaking each other's record. Suga is the only Rapper in history to sell 1 million album copies in just one day. BTS rapline is great.

  • @reiang9637

As you see more older BTS mv, this one will make more sense since it references the old ones since this is like an anniversary song released before their hiatus for military service. So this was also a sad one for us ARMY. As of today there are two in military. They released solo work before they enlisted. The others have released also now too anticipating their time out for military.
Reading the lyrics will also help you better understand their messages and it’s important because they write real meaningful stuff, their experiences, their feelings, their struggles.
And like you noticed they reference other artists. They’ve covered many western artists. One of their fave are J Cole and they did Born Singer cover of his Born Sinner. Check that one out and be sure to get the lyrics. You’ll appreciate them more if your understand what they’re saying.

The song is a gift to the fandom so I wouldn’t recommend this song for new listeners. The swing that says “you never walk alone” is from the song “spring day”, the statue “blood sweat and tears” the bus, their debute song “No more dream”, BTS debuted in 2013

this song represents bts who promised to come back again with better beautiful moments, because currently bts is in chapter 2 which is they are on hiatus..and this music video describes many things, all the properties in this MV are symbols in several other MVs, the MV symbols that they use are mostly MVs that have touching meanings. bts and army (bts fans) have a very close relationship, this relationship is very special because bts always trust army as their fans and army always trust bts, k because whatever they promise they always keep it even though it's not always on time but they always keep their promise to the army. "Yet To Come" is one of the promises they made. the conclusion of this song they only promise to return to the arms of ARMY, the best moment has not yet come at this time, when that moment comes they will bring the most beautiful moment for their fans.

I don't appreciate your treatment of our boy's music. You don't need to mute the music. We love these guys. They've worked hard to get to where they are. The majority of Army want to engage with your thoughts on the lyrics and your views on the production, editing (mv's), each member's skill, the synergy they have within the group.
Anyway, please don't take offense, it's the 54 year old literary teacher within me who is passionate about them and the meaning their lyrics have brought to so many army's lives this past 10 years.

This music video may seem random at first but its actually a bunch of references to rheir past music video's. The amount of details the put into from the very obvious structures all the way down to the clothes and hand gestures are all references to their career. This song was the title track for BTS *Proof* anthology album where they had celebrated 9 years of their career. But now BTS are going to be celebrating their 10th anniversary this year on June 13th which is a huge milestone especially in the world of Kpop (as most groups don't even make it past 7 years).

I hope that you will continue on this path, and I hope that you will turn on the translation, because many of their songs have beautiful and deep meanings and strong feelings, and also about the fact that they are seven companions who live together. They have been together for 10 years, and they are also compatible with each other because they are very close to each other and close to every member of themAlso, this song is about their past with each other and with ARMYs, and that the present is always better. You noticed that there are random scenes such as the bus, flowers, the piano, the horse riding game, and the big statue. All these scenes are present in their deep past songs.

It's so interesting that this is the first video y'all decided to go to. It's more of a meaningful song for the fandom with tons of easter eggs. So it would be confusing for newcomers. I'd recommend watching more of their group MV's like Mic Drop (Steve Aoki remix), On Kinetic Manifesto, Black Swan, Save Me to start before diving more into live performances or unit songs. Although when you do get to unit songs (meaning the rapline or the vocal line songs) I'd highly recommend you listen to Cyphers (1-4). The rap line is ridiculous.
Hope to see you do more BTS reactions in the future!

I don't know if anyone said this but...
*Jungkook sang the main song at the last World Cup Opening Ceremony.
*The boys are Ambassadors for the biggest fashion houses.
*Many artists (even Americans) want Suga to produce songs for them.
    *J-hope headlined Lalapalozza last year.
*They break records on a regular basis.
*V has been named The Most Handsome Man in the World by TCCandler. He and Jungkook are in the top ten most years.
    etc. etc. etc.
All this and they are still humble, respectful, kind, funny and do everything for ARMY. And ARMY does the same for them.

It works really well with 7 in the group. All their songs include all 7 singing or rapping, sometimes both from the same member. They have solo songs for each member too. Yet to come is a song for ARMY (their fan base) looking back over their past (they all have to do 2 years of military service ), and looking forward to things yet to come (their solo era as the older members leave to do their military service) each member will put out solo albums or songs.
They have 2 all english pop songs, Dynamite and Butter, but I prefer their songs with Korean lyrics (most have some english mixed in). They also have a big mix of other genres, so if one song don't hit you right try some others that might. They also have dance practice videos if you are into that sort of thing. Their live performances are fantastic. Thanks for giving them a shot :)

It's hilarious that you asked if they played Rock Paper Scissors for song opener - because BTS literally play that game to decide pretty much everything else 😂 who will cook dinner? Who will clean up? Who will carry all the luggage? Who has to bunk with who on trips? Who will do a silly dance break?....BTS does their own variety show (called 'Run BTS!') and film trips together (a series called 'Bon Voyage') and staycations (series title is 'In the Soop') so we ARMYs have tons of opportunities to see them play Rock Paper Scissors to make decisions -- plus they all play simultaneously, not one-by-one, and extremely quickly.... It's quite fascinating. In Korea it's called Scissors (ga-wi), Rock (ba-wi), Paper (bo) so that's what they say before they throw: ga-wi! ba-wi! Bo! And everyone throws on BO

BTS consists of 3 rappers (RM, Suga and J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V, and JK).. They do group songs, as well as sub units, and solo performances. They also have many genres of songs.. hip hop, r&b, soulful, dance, latin,... you name it they probably have a song that could fall in that genre.
    I recommend...
    Mic Drop
    ON Kinetic Manifesto
    Black Swan
    Truth Untold (acoustic)
    Film Out
Any of the ciphers for the rappers
    Persona or Wildflower for RM
Daechwita or Agust D for Suga
    Ego or More for J-Hope
    Stigma or Singularity for V
    Serendipity or Filter for Jimin
    Moon or Astronaut for Jin

The truck actually was not a product placement but a reference to a vehicle BTS used in their September 2015 "Prologue" video released using staff member's vehicles. They were financially struggling at the time and were unable to afford vehicle rentals for the video. Further in 2015 BTS was too insignificant a group on the Korean landscape for companies such as Ford or even Korean motor companies to even think of as a placement location. BTS is not a sudden phenomenon. They had many struggling years putting in the hard work to get where they are.
The Yet to Come music video is a reprise of many images across their career created for the group's 9th anniversary. Without context these can invite a bit of snark. This music video probably is not an optimal music video to start with as it is a BTS retrospective and speaking to a future different than the past. But thanks for dipping your toes into waters which have over 300 tracks to choose from.
